PR KNOT are still popular and this way of tying without using a bobbin !!!
PR Knot is so popular to sport fishers is because the knot profile is very slim. This helps your line flow through your rod guides much easier especially when casting. If your fishing a micro jigging rod, with small guides on it at the tip, you'll want your braid to mono knot to pass through without as much resistance on it. If tied correctly, it will reach 100% knot strength, meaning your line will break before this knot will fail.
