Thank you! At 71 years young, I have NO expectation that any potion will make me look 40 again…and that’s ok. I just want products that will allow me to look the best that I can and that I can feel good about that. There is so much hype out there about aging. How sad that we can’t see that every candle we get to add to our cake is a blessing (only one alternative🤪). Thank you for your open, honest videos. I appreciate that you not only respect our intelligence, but also that everyone’s financial situation is different. Offering us options is very helpful. Thanks for all you do. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
As someone who does not watch TV or consume social media and have a social circle that does not partake in any cosmetic “enhancements”, when i look at someone who has been even the slightest overdone I notice immediately, I cannot unsee it, I’m extremely distracted by it, and I don’t take them seriously. I love your views on the beauty industry, thank you Maren! I also love that you are probably the only person on UA-cam in this space who doesn't have fillers &/or botox in your face!!
I love you! You’re just soo honest and I love your approach in every sense! Thank you for making amazing videos like this and always giving us a chance to find something on a budget ❤❤
I love you! I have missed you. I miss your takes on aging. I don’t want fillers, I want to age! But I do want to look as great as I can as I age. Consistent skincare has been working so well! Thanks for all the wonderful advice!
I have used this brand for quite awhile. I discovered from these videos,. It really works.....I am 72 years old and have used retinol with a subscription for a very long time. As i have gotten older my skin has gotten more sensitive. This brand has really helped me!!! Try it , its greart!!
Love this "keeping it real" video Doc Locke! I've been using Avene's products since discovering them in Europe nearly 30 years ago. They make my sensitive skin so happy and plump. Any time I cycle off them it's always great to come back around, they really agree with a healthy skin barrier! Woot woot. Just love the keeping it real part of this video....seriously girl!!!

When i visit my family they ask me why my face glow and it looks healthy. Even go to work either no make only Tula the blue stick it makes magic 🎉
Just ordered the Avène .05, the sale really is a good deal, plus free shipping to boot 😀 I'm in my mid40s and have been really happy with products you've recommended. My skin was rough looking and sooo dry; it's looking so much healthier now.
Hey, Maren! I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while. I’m 62 and got tired of spending a LOT of money for products that didn’t do what they claimed to do! I just got the Dermelect Smooth Upper Lip Perioral Anti-Aging Treatment AND Dr. Dennis Gross’s SpectraLite LipWare Pro. After three uses, I can ALREADY see a plumper top lip AND lip lines (from sleeping on my side) drastically reduced!!! Thank you for giving honest information about skin products!
Truly thank you for having the courage to be so practical and realistic about women’s beauty. I’m 34 and find myself feeling pressure to look a certain way - it’s refreshing to hear your opinions and a great reminder for all women to be kind to themselves. 💕
Also wanna say I'VE learned alot about my skin over the years and about what products that can be effective . Your channel is a well of knowledge. Thank you again lol 😀
I LOVE YOUR MESSAGE!!! Thank you so much for addressing this unattainable perfection. It is not realty at all. This is so refreshing! I will be sharing this video. Xo
I learned about the Avene Retrinal line from a previous video of yours and love it. I use the .05 version because it does not contain silicones and does contain squalane. As it is not as strong, I do use it every night and have noticed major benefits. Because there is no silicone in it, the moisturizer I use after the Retrinal (Neutrogena Hydroboost) sinks in so well and helps plump the skin.
I use prescription Retin A. I want to thank you for your honesty. Some of the women on UA-cam look unreal great and it does make one feel lessor than, so thank you!
Thank YOU! There are so many lies on social media, including from doctors. Let's face it: it's all about making money. One dermatologist would "brag" about how smart she was to become a dermatologist, which is total BS because all doctors need to be brilliant. Ask me how I know. Anyway, I use Avene Retrinal, and my skin looks great for my age. Their entire line is affordable and excellent. Additionally, they often offer fantastic discounts.
I have used this for a while now! I agree it’s a wonderful product! I use 1-2 times per week at night only. I have recently started using the .05 strength when I feel I need to dial it down, alternating between the two. I also use the eye cream, Physiolift hyaluronic acid, day cream, aqua gel (moisturizer). It’s a GREAT brand and I definitely see a big difference! It all started with the one product Avene RetrinAl Intensive .1 strength and thanks to you! I’ve been watching you for a while now. My hairdresser complemented my skin the other day! She asked me if I got a peel. I can see a difference as well. There are a couple of other products I have tried as well that are amazing especially the new hyaluronic acid HYALURON ACTIV B3. Wow! 😊
Well said! I'm so tired of the anti-aging movement...People age, it's normal, it's normal to get wrinkles! My god, why would I want to look like I'm 40 when I'm many many years older... Like you, I want to look as good as I can for my age, naturally...I do not judge those who want to have things done...however, it is quite noticeable when people have had work done..it's sad to see young women in their 20's and 30's worrying about wrinkles and not looking perfect...thank you for your honesty and educating us.
Totally 100% correct on the Avene Retrinal! It works better than anything! Have been using for 2+ years and no Botox or fillers and people say I look 15 years younger.👍😊
Loved this video and your comments about being you! I’ve used Environ’s and Medik8’s retinal but I love Avene products so I’ll have to try this one. Also, after seeing this video, I subscribed to your channel. I love your attitude and outlook so much.
Huuuge huuge THUMBS UP for your point of view and opinions about the influencer topic + the beauty trends around botox/fillers. thank you so so much for just being natural, which is very refreshing nowadays (actually sad, that it is huh?). there is also so much pressure you feel to also do those "beauty standards" because everyone is doing it. I wish than in a few years the trend will become more towards natural looks. Again, thank you
Hi Maren! Have you ever tried the Geek&Gorgeous Retinal Cream with also 0,1% Retinal (A-Game 10)? It is my holy grail in skincare and the ingredients seem to be quite similar to the Avene Retrinal, but its far more cheaper. Geek&Gorgeous is a hungarian brand, but I think they do deliver to the US as well. I would really love to hear a product review from you, especially since Avene is quite expensive here in Central Europe. 👍
I’ve been using this twice a week for 6 months and my skin has never been better! Prefer the retinaldehyde over tretinoin which just irritates my skin.
Thankful for a Real dermatologist review and tips ,thanks for what you do .Cant afford to pay to see a derm but thanks to you I can get some real advice thank you ! God bless

I eat very healthy 90% of the time and work out (walking, or spin, yoga, or weights) daily, no smoking and minimal drinking. That too, helps us to age well. I will say, as I've gotten older (I'm 56), it's interesting that once I entered menopause, I became invisible. It's difficult to describe but you'll know it when it happens. It's ok, I had my time, and now it's the young'ins turn. That's the cycle of life.

When I was a young girl I used to love to smooth my fingers over my grandma's soft, crinkly skin. It was soooo soft. Like delicate rose petals. Now I am a grandmother of four and really hope that I am lucky enough to grow my own wrinkles over many years ahead. In my grandma's day, you took care of your skin with simple things: cold cream, rose water, maybe a homemade mask, a facial steam, a bar of Dove soap, a lovely cream in a small but thickly-walled glass jar. Some Oil of Olay. :) Oh they were so lovely. Keeping our skin clean, fresh and dewy and protected from the sun is a joy. I LOVE skin care. I LOVE my rituals. Actives and injectibles are not for me, but I would never judge anyone else. Just let me grow old and soft and wrinkly rose petal skin. I'll be grateful.
Wondering if their is a big difference between the Avene and the Maelove Moonlight drops?? Interested to know your opinion. Thanks! I love your videos!
IF YOU LIVE IN AUSTRALIA: please know that the Retrinal that Maren discusses is sold under a different name in Australia (don't ask me why). It is called Hyaluron Activ B3 Multi-Intensive Night Cream. It has 0.1% retinaldehyde. I even emailed Avene Australia about this to find out if I could get the Retrinal- they told me they don't sell it in Australia but this has the same ingerdients.
Hello. I've been a fan of yours since I discovered your channel. Your skin is so beautiful and cared for. Thank you for sharing. I have a question about the use of retinoids. I'm currently using Avene retrinal 0.05 cream. I often hear that it is a concentration for beginners. How do I know if I should stay at this concentration or increase to Avene 0.1 intense cream? Another question is: is the retinoid applied only to the chin or to the bottom of the jaw? Sorry if the question seems goofy. Thank you and happy holidays
Hi, I love your channel and your expert tips regarding skincare, thank you. However I live in New Zealand and some of the products including this one aren't available here.:( Do you have any other similar recommendations please?
I’m 64, and I have been using Curology for around five years. Do I have no wrinkles. Nope. But that’s okay. I’m not 24 I’m 64. It has helped me tremendously. I have purchased a lot of things. But I don’t use them. In fact, every time something comes in a small box, my husband asks me if it’s something for my face. And I use sunscreen everyday. I have a red light therapy mask. But I don’t use it enough. I also have a Nu Face Trinity. I don’t use it as often as I should. I actually don’t use the Trentinoin every night. I skip some nights if I feel my face is too dry. But if it get to the point I can’t use this. I will start using what you use. My skin is sensitive and picky. I found something to put on my neck. And I put it over my face after my trentinoin. I don’t want my dogs to lick my face with that on it. I’m not sure if it will do anything to them or not. I may get the eye cream anyway. I haven’t found anything that works for my eyes. I sleep on my left side. So my left eye is way darker than my right eye. I look weird. And I don’t wear makeup. But I may have to start to soon.
I have been using both the face and eye Avene RetinAL, but I don't think it's helping much for my undereyes. They look more hydrated sure, but not seeing a change in the wrinkles there. I have more than just fine lines though and have deeper lines now. What do you think of their other undereye product, the Physiolift? Is that better for deeper wrinkles?
Have you ever used the Beauty of Joseon retinal serum? I'm on my first tube but I'm hoping it turns out to be effective for me since I'm on a very tight budget and it's way more affordable than the avene retinal. Also I try to only shop cruelty free and I'm not sure avene is.
If someone is using Retin-A, would this be advised to use. Thank you Dr. mirror and for all of your wonderful advice, I’ve Purchased so many products I love!
I use prescription Tazorac .1% seven nights a week. Would the Avene Retrinol be an additional moisturizer or is there another product to use as a night cream after Tazorac that you recommend.

It's an alternative to Retin A
It’s something I will try. It’s just so expensive in Australia
Love retinaldehyde. What’s the difference between Avene and Maelove Moonlight serum or Naturium which are less expensive.
Please let us know what’s the routine if we use the avene?
Could you please compare this to an Adapalene product? Thank you!
Hi, Love your videos! I'm wondering if you can give a Canadian alternative such as the intensive cream and differin for example. Thanks!
What are your thoughts on medik8 crystal retinal versus Avene
I would love to see you review One Skin
I use prescription Tazorac .1% seven nights a week. Would the Avene Retrinol be an additional moisturizer or is there another product to use as a night cream after Tazorac that you recommend.
Could you please review the Paula's Choice retinol and bakuchiol?
I’m on Tretnoin when should I switch? Which one is better??
Thank you for your information.
I just started using CeraVe Resurfacing Serum at night. Should I add in using Avent RetrinAl once or twice a week instead?
i use tretinoin 0.1 %. but i still want a good moisturizer. would u still recommend your # 1 moisturizing cream.
I have a question. I get my lip and brows waxed. Can I still do that using this product? Back off for a few days or more before ?
