I played the x for several years but recently switched back to the standard V1. Been playing the V1 for several months and now considering going back to the V1x. I prefer the control and higher spin from the x. I have tried some other premium balls as well, but always find myself back on the pro V1(x) wagon. Cheers from Arizona. Great video.

I always knew that the x spun more but having the opportunity to test and see the actual numbers is really beneficial to see the impact on distance. What you’ve said is spot on, I think people should try both on course to see the difference it makes on greens and then when you know what level of spin you like you can make the right choice. Testing video for the Left Dash is out next Thursday! Thanks for the comment!

Everybody talked about the distance off the tee and distance and what not. The most important area of Titliest golf balls are within the shortgame areas, chipping and putting. Putting with Prov1 is stable as none of other golf balls. And we can repeat that again and again and again. (In my opinion) - Prov1 user for solid 6 years.

Titleist have been historically very consistent and continue to be on spin and launch and things like that. But there is a big difference I their different pro v1 offerings suited to different players. For me it’s the pro v1 left dash. I know loads prefer the standard X though. I do also think that many Titleist loyalists like myself could benefit from fully testing out things like Vice or other brands. But then again I live testing out golf balls as o find it fascinating. I’m a golf geek. 😂😂😂

Been playing srixon z star diamond lately, found a pro V1 and hit it, felt really good, especially off driver....... Feel seems nice over the x

I like a Srixon too, feel wise pro v1 for me is very good. Have you tried the zstar XV? Feels nice and spins a decent amount too.

Actually did try the xv divide, I think I prefer it over the diamond but I have a Few left to play through before I try some thing new, I might try to compare xv to the pro V1 and see what I prefer on course

Distance is not the major thing from choosing a ball. Doesn’t help if you’re not holding greens with less spin and decent angle.

For some it’s not and for some it is. On average, bearing in mind the average driving distance for a male and female is 215 yards and 147 yards respectively, I would say most look for more distance. But to each their own. I just like testing which balls go further whilst also looking at the other data too. 👍

Which do you play? Pro v1 or pro v1 x? I feel the distance loss with irons is mitigated by driver, so I guess it comes down to your spin profile.

These numbers tell us a lot more about your golf game than the ball. If your 7i can only get 4500 spin on a proV1, that's not on the ball.

Everyone produces more or less spin. For so many reasons. This video isn’t about what my spin numbers are, it’s about the difference between the two balls. For me because I swing fast I tend to hit everything pretty high and get a steep landing angle. So for me it doesn’t matter that my spin is a bit low, that’s actually what I’m after. If I had another 1000 revs my ball would stall in the air. Im just interested to know what the difference is between the two. And now I, and a few others do, so I can now make an informed decision as to which ball to buy. Hopefully the video helped you beyond just looking at my spin numbers.

I’m watching dozens of videos on this comparison to better understand the difference. This comparison is very different in data set.
The flip-flopping of insights like ball speed point to the sample data set driving the outcome, not the ball. Huge disparity in the spin between the 2 balls makes it look more like contact discrepancies in the data set; every other test it’s a few hundred rpm’s.
I wasn’t even looking for spin, I’m hoping to better understand launch conditions, flight and peak heights, as I need to reduce height.
Your test points to that, but the data seems a little too inconsistent for me.
I’d be really interested in seeing full data on every shot used in the data set, or a repeat test with the same amount of shots to see if the outcome is the same.

@marbles8901 some interesting points… I can definitely look at a repeat test. On the day I was pulling a lot of shots and generally not hitting the ball well, but that in itself was consistent. I think based on what I already know about the X is it does just spin a lot more, which is why it’s loved so much on tour. Appreciate the comments and your feedback. Thanks for watching too! Left dash test should be out next week… now there’s some low spin… 👍
