Why go to all this trouble when you can buy an SLA-10A 3.7v LIPO for $5? The SLA-10A is just a 1/2" shorter than the OEM battery but has the same poalrity and the 3 contacts line up?

Hi the point was to remove the old Mini USB connector and replace it with a modern USB-C.
The battery was just extra

@@mitchellazevedo6637 That defeats the purpose. That is one more thing to carry. Having built in USB-C is just nicer and easier to charge on the go.
