Absolutely ! It was either France or Argentina. France came as the World/European/Intercontinental champion & Argentina was full of superstars. Brazil struggled to even qualify for the world cup & somehow made it. 2002 by far was the most shocking world cup in History. The 2 favourites getting eliminated in the group stage, Senegal beating France, USA beating Portugal who eventually got eliminated in the group stage itself after a strong performance in Euro 2000, Korea beating Spain, Portugal & Italy & reaching the semi final, Turkey finishing at No 3, Senegal reaching final 8 & Japan reaching the final 16, bad refereeing decisions. It was a remarkable & yet controversial tournament.

I sheared tears when Nigeria loosed the match... I could still remember, it was 6:00AM Nigeria time that day... on Sunday morning. Lots of Nigerians didn't go to church that Sunday morning because of the match. I couldn't eat all through that day. It was such a painful experience that day Lol... such is life 22 years later wow!!! How time flies. such a lovely memory to remember. ❤

@@FernandoFernandez_192 no se si yo soy muy exigente pero las atajadas del portero nigeriano son muy normalitas. Balones faciles al centro ee la porteria donde el esta parado. Es mejor atajada la del portero Argentino a contramano. Y ademas el gol de Batistuta, el portero de la come completita. Le rematan en el area chica y el balon le pasa por encima de su cabeza. Si da un par de pasos para atras y brinca se queda con el balon.

Porque lo que yo dije es que para mí no es así, después, en 2010 y 2014, estuvo Vincent Enyeama, que para mí era muchísimo mejor que el de este video.

What are you talking about. All the saves are from ball that pass just above his head. The most amazing save of that match was the one of the Argentina keeper. The one that save with right hand. Even the goal is fault of Nigeria keeper the ball pass above him and he run horrible and Batistuta hit the ball in the small area. A better goalkepper just give a couple of backsteps and jump and keep the ball. Awful performance. Only make the saves more espectacular to easy balls.

Samuel, Ayala, Sorin, Zaneti, Simeone, Veron, Ortega, Batistuta, Gallardo, Aimar, Crespo, Killy Gonzalez, Caniggia, etc. Tremenda camada de jugadores tenia esa seleccion, y terminó eliminado en primera ronda, no por no ser lo que fue en las eliminatorias, sino por que la suerte no estuvo de nuestro lado.
