I was 5 yo in 2002. And i can only remember one game of this world cup. IT was brazil vs turkey in group stages.
I already could tell that the goalkeeper was too far off his line when I was 12 sitting in front of the television, I told myself if it was me I would attempt a direct lob at goal and true enough, Ronaldinho went for the lob and scored.
I was 14 at the time, other side of the fence I'm English. The School gathered in the hall to watch the game. Went insane when Michael Owen scored, but of course by the end we were devastated. Could hear the teachers in the background saying "typical England, chocked as usual"

Watched the game at 7 am. By the time I went to school.

Scolari shut down England in three straight tournaments (2002 & 2006 World Cups, 2004 European Cups) as coach of Brazil & Portugal. That man alone is a major reason why England couldn’t get any silverware for nearly 60 years

Their individual talent is too much, if the team is having a bad day, you can count on the likes of Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo to change the game by themselves without the need of other players to help them. The only defensive line that can stop those front 3 would probably be the back 4 of Italy 1994 team.

I so remeber this day...it was friday afternoon in nepal...on fridays there is just a half day in nepal...when i reached home england had already scored via michael owen however brazil managed to score two wonderful goals..later brazil went on to play turkey in the semis and eventually germany in the wc finals.Will always remember ronaldinhos goal♥️
