i agree with these fellas. id click that in a heart-beat! but let em get through those fall monthes first though thats when the catfishing really rocks and those cats start gourging themselves!
Now why would anyone watch this video and click on the dislike button? It's a fishing channel, he's fishing and catching fish, catfish as expected, what more do you want? I guess you can't please everyone.
It cracks me up watching you catch these "dink" fish. The first one that ate the giant sucker in the beginning is still bigger than my PB lol. I love watching your channel!
I for one appreciate what you call "rambling on" is one thing i enjoy because that is when you give us the best advice on how you cattch all those beautiful kitties. is Appaloosa another name for flathead catfish because of their spotted tailfin area?
That's something how they can take a big sucker like that. Up here you think musky when your sucker gets hammered. The only smallmouth on my wall came something like that. Just love your vids. I hope your amazing run of big fish continues, been fun to watch.
I wonder if your large flats seeming preference for cut bait is the fishery? Perhaps the big lazy fish follow the blues and feed on their easy to get scraps. Live bait here is as good or slightly better than good cut bait (like skippies) but there are very few blues where I'm at (never caught one close to the house) just a thought..... Cause our flatheads are not hardly active at all during the day either. Pretty much have to fish in the brush piles to catch one when the sun's out.
Man - happened to me to. I worked hard for some bait a couple weeks ago. I ended up with one nice small carp (11"ish) and a bunch of small threadfins. I was exited to use the carp live... then he got ate by a 8 - 10 pound blue cat. I don't know how that cat choked him down... I just knew he'd get a huge flathead ......
I'm in Wisconsin where we don't have blue cats (although people will argue we do because of color phase channels). Do blues bite you as hard as channels? I find it so funny that flatties are so gentle compared to channels lol
Garden is looking rough. Still getting peppers and watermelons but everything else is dead. I do have some sunflowers drying in my shed so I can harvest the seeds
I caught my very first muskie last night. It hit a live minnow just as dark was settling in. So around 845 is. I fought him for about 20 minutes and he spit my hook at me at the bank. 😢 I was so mad lol...I wanted a picture with it
I absolutely love to watch you catch catfish if I can only but catch me one this year that I can make for dinner haven't got them one yet but I will live vicariously through you until I do you've got one awesome show thank you so much hillbilly from Hamilton Ohio that loves the fish
Yep I've fish the great Miami many many times. I lived right there in Lebanon. Alot of places to fish around there. Tons of rivers and lakes. Love Ohio fishing.
What’s up Justin it’s Geoffrey Thackeray enjoyed your live cast what is the longest Blue Cat and Flathead you’ve ever caught I meant to ask that . Thanks for what you do Living the Dream Bro👍
I only measure fish when competing in tournaments so my biggest fish of all time weren’t measured. The longest blue I measured was 50” and the longest flathead was 45”
What model of camera are you using for your chest cam. been looking for one when i take the boys fishing and figured the one you are using has to be good given the amount of fish you get
Would you do this type of fishing, main channel ledge stuff, in the Mississippi River? Where I’m at in Illinois, main channel ledge sounds like ‘barge channel’. Would you do it here too? Current is pretty steady most times too.
I been watching you for awhile an I don't no if you made a video on how to spool Your bait casting reel but if you didn't Will You make one if so thank u
Them damn channel “rats” will do the same thing with a good live bait too, damn little channel cats, I’ve had a lot of channels that’ll just crush a live bait and then spit it out, they can’t stand to something lively! Little bastards! Course I’ve had pretty good sized channels that would eat a little tiny bluegill or green sunfish, I’ve caught quite a few big channels on a little bait, like 3-4 inch bluegills, I’m talking 17,18,19 lb channels.
Will you do a “10 biggest fish of the year” video eventually? All species included!
Great idea lets see it Justin 👍
i agree with these fellas. id click that in a heart-beat! but let em get through those fall monthes first though thats when the catfishing really rocks and those cats start gourging themselves!
Heck yeah I agree
Or maybe a "10 biggest baits of the year". 😉
I need this
I’d love to see you use livebaits more often!!
Here I am watching you on my birthday 23rd September, and the day after my gallbladder removal surgery. Your videos are better than medicine. Thanks.
Thank you for the video and the shout out yesterday for our anniversary.

Love the channel! Your energy & fire for the sport of Catfishing really comes through! 😊👍
Your videos make me hungry. All I see are catfish fillets swimming away . . . Love the content! Thanks for what you do.
You need to drop about a 2 lb. bass down there.lol
I like the way you think lol
I for one appreciate what you call "rambling on" is one thing i enjoy because that is when you give us the best advice on how you cattch all those beautiful kitties. is Appaloosa another name for flathead catfish because of their spotted tailfin area?
Big bait challenge. Can we get you to go out with the biggest baits your comfortable using and drop em down ? 2 pound common carp.
I've been waiting for this myself!!!!!
I believe I can make that happen at some point soon. I just gotta get me some larger baits
@@KayakCatfish yes please! Here in arizona 1- 2 pound common carps are recommended for catching the flatheads out here.
@@KayakCatfish I will put my vote in for this
You did a great job.
Great video. As always. Love it when the rod tips are in the water!
I appreciate your videos Justin. They help me relax after a hard day's work. Plus I learn from every video.
Glad your ok!.
I can’t believe you can run that many rods at once!
Cup of coffee and Kayak Catfish makes my 1st break at work just a little better... LOL Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
That ad placement around 20:00 was perfect. I dunno it that was you or UA-cam but that was some TV quality kinda ad placement
That's something how they can take a big sucker like that. Up here you think musky when your sucker gets hammered. The only smallmouth on my wall came something like that. Just love your vids. I hope your amazing run of big fish continues, been fun to watch.
That didn't take any time at all. Love the action brother
That was fast
This just goes to show bait says doesn’t matter all that much after a certain size. But it did bum me out to see that sucker only bring up a dink.
You need to step it up to a 5 pound carp if blues like that one are going to take the suckers.

Justin, Slamming Big Catfish like you do. Suckers rule. Gollywoppers only . God bless
Nice fish today see you on the next video 👍👍👍👍
Great time on the water !
That is a big live bait for sure
Catfish Justin Johnson is the man when it comes to catfishing for sure
*loses big sucker bait right of the bat to dinks twice in two trips* KayakCatfish: "I'm never gonna financially recover from this"
pure quality
Enjoyed the trip as always. tight lines
Right side was the sucker left was drum
How's the garden faring? I would imagine your sunflowers are about ready to harvest.
Garden is looking rough. Still getting peppers and watermelons but everything else is dead. I do have some sunflowers drying in my shed so I can harvest the seeds

I use alot of suckers and creek chub for bait. Work great for me, I bank fish.
need to get you some Monster Rod Holders... nice fish..

I catch nice catfish around the dams there in Hamilton in the great Miami.
Yep I've fish the great Miami many many times. I lived right there in Lebanon. Alot of places to fish around there. Tons of rivers and lakes. Love Ohio fishing.
Good morning Justin and good luck
So many great fish
First flatty was on the sucker

Kayak Catfish That’s Some Nice ones There Justin. Just a Matter of Time before you catch that Beast of a Lifetime 👍
Some good fishing sir. Enjoyed the video..
We're can you get good baits without having to catch them? Quality baits are hard to find. The waters I fish. The fish are very picky.
What model of camera are you using for your chest cam. been looking for one when i take the boys fishing and figured the one you are using has to be good given the amount of fish you get
I use Sony action cams. The as 15 and as 20 models
How many lb test do you use and what about the leader line
What kind of knot do you use to tie the hook on with??
How do you keep the kayak from moving out there?.
Man i would love some pointers for kayak fishing i never seem to be able find the right baits to use for these cats in Louisiana
Would you do this type of fishing, main channel ledge stuff, in the Mississippi River? Where I’m at in Illinois, main channel ledge sounds like ‘barge channel’. Would you do it here too? Current is pretty steady most times too.
If I could get out there safely, I would try it. Barge traffic and current flow might make it impossible or impractical though
Just fond your videos. Love watching them. Do you keep any of the catfish for dinner?
Can’t eat fish out of the Tennessee River. It’s contaminated.
You care if i ask is this the Tennessee River ? I live in East TN we got them fun size fish 😆 great video
What's the best line to use for flatheads??..each time I catch one my line snaps
I would recommend at least 35-45lb test. If you use braid you can go with 60-80lb test.
I'm with the other guy we need a Huge bait/live bait challenge!!!!!
When you go to your new reel’s are you going to sell those you are using now?
Awesome thanks 🙏👍
Demonstrate how to stow motorguide motor on hobby while on water
Do you ever cast your light rod while suspend fishing? I feel like I would if I ever did this kinda of fishing. Keep up the great content.
I do sometimes when I see bait busting
Yeah I've noticed that like in your recent video. Was just curious, I guess you just relax between bites? Thank you for the reply.
Hey Justin, Holly at C and C turned me on to your videos. Do you mind telling us what size net you use to catch your shad?
I use a 6 foot net with 5/8” mesh. Thanks for watching!
The cats in Oklahoma are only eating live bait right now
Are you left handed? I am . I see how you have your rods set up?
Love when live baits get eaten…
I always take a picture small largemouth with a hook in it to send to my nephew!!
😂
10:40 anyone else notice the orange hoodie guy on the bank behind him
Thanks
Thank you Mark! I appreciate you supporting my channel.
How do you like the motorguide xi3? Im thinking about getting one for my Hobie PA14.
No complaints thus far.
@@KayakCatfish what battery do you use? Great channel, I've been watching it for about a year now.
I have a 100ah lithium
What pound line do you use?
40lb
What rods are you using here?
All my gear is listed in the video description
Do you eat any fish you catch?
Good job man, beats not fishing !
I been watching you for awhile an I don't no if you made a video on how to spool
Your bait casting reel but if you didn't Will
You make one if so thank u
Are there any people on here from Gatlinburg Tennessee, if so I've got a question to ask about Douglas creek that flows right behind the appy inn

Do you ever take fish home to eat?
Try lake Gaston 😛
Like bluegills for bass...
That dink said
redhorse sucker
is what’s for supper
I'm waiting for you to catch a giant largemouth while fishing for cats
I hate being on camera without my makeup either!!!
What the biggest cat fish yall ever caught mine was 25 pounds
Not the biggest fish to you but not bad considering how quick he struck.
Bigger flathead was on the small sucker
Do you eat catfish
That's a spotted sucker, not redhorse.
Have you ever catfished the Ohio river ?
👍👍
Cut that sucker up catch a lot more fish!
That is too much work for a fish you can’t eat. There must be some waters in Ten for catching and eating fish. Still enjoy your catches.
Not everyone is a meat head some people actually just enjoy fishing
