Ryan. I follow a lot of pilot channels but I have to say you are the most professional of any of them, and display incredible airmanship. No auto pilot landings for you!
It’s all visual seat of the pants flying. Going back to raw stick and rudder flying. He does it very well. Plan the flight and fly the plan… So I will now try and find China with all the automatics in place…
Great video brother! What a landing! God was with you as you powered up to arrest that sinking airplane to hit the button. Good anticipation on your part🙏🏻
Outstanding airmanship, even with all the gusts and crosswind, your control movement was smooth yet authoritative. Very well done. Reminds me of my glider towing days. Thanks 🏍️🇨🇦
Ryan, gotta love those downdrafts. I remember my training airstrip had a field and then a river on approach so in the summer you caught an updraft first then downdraft over the river than finally pavement! Roller coaster landings! Great landing on your part too. Stay safe.
Nice, you showed you knew what to expect and handled it well, made it look routine. I always appreciate the beautiful terrain. You spend so much time in valleys and near tree tops. Seems that almost always theres no landing site if your engine fails.
Wow--we stay pretty tuned in now to both channels, so watched the other one first and got the tour of the area, then the flight out. We were prepared for it to be a challenge, but to say you make it look easy is an understatement. We're very impressed at how you work. Keep it up--we love what you do!
First, love hearing Roland’s voice and his greetings to you! Second, Wow 😮 what an approach and the worst time for a downdraft on landing - you are such a skilled pilot, I love learning from you how you handle all of these challenging and unique situations!
Congrats for that landing. Great preparation and together with your skills it worked out well. It’s only that from the start of the video I sensed a lot of tension. Did you have stress before the flight? Have you ever cancelled a flight because you just didn’t feel right? Thanks for sharing that experience.
Its always impressed me on just about every flight i have watched how smooth the flare is on landing, while im not a pilot its pretty easy to visualise, that "kick/downdraught on landing that pushed you onto your front wheel was something i have never seen b 4, and im guessing that was what you were speaking about after landing, Stay Well and Stay Safe Cheers
I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while now and really enjoy them. As an Air Traffic Controller I am most fascinated by the services that are provided to you on most of your flights. I have all sorts of questions but today I’m curious about this. It seems you always take off from Goroka on 17 and land on 35. Is the wind there that variable? Or do you generally accept a tailwind landing in exchange for the shorter flight time? Keep up the good work and the fascinating videos!
Absolutely incredible. Love your content Ryan. You inspired me to purchase the Kodiak and learn how to fly it in MSFS. LOVE your videos and always excited to see the next one. Love how professional and passionate you are with flying. Keep it going buddy, you're killing it! 😊
Ryan: "7 knot tailwind, 8 knot crosswind, BIG Downdraft" 😬 The next sound you hear is the seat cushion being sucked up Ryan's butt! 😂 Another great video, not too short or long, abbreviated checklist, nice time lapse home, Thumbs up given! God bless you, your family and your work!👍🏽
Well, not exactly an environment for enthusiastic amateurs today. Thanks God it is remote enough to prevent them to try their luck...🤫 BTW, your promotion of PNG cofee was successful. I managed to order a very good one in Italy at a reasonable courier fee. Delicious!!!!😃 Thx.
Nice how you compose your movies! I started a few years ago recording my flights and still love it. They get better through the years.. The Excel sheets on the Ipad you use for calculations-preflight, you made it yourself? Is it fpr sharing? If so, could you let me know? Grtz, D.
Hi Ryan - we all learn so much from flying along with you. A quick question: given that your aircraft was parked on the flat overnight, how on earth did it end up with 120 in one wing and 250 in the other? Did someone land the airplane in such an out-of-balance condition? And then you put 50 in each wing so you ended up with 170 in one wing and 300 in the other. Did you leave the crossflow open so it balanced out before take off? You are so careful and accurate with your flying that this puzzles me. Perhaps it is an artifact of video editing? Please cover this in a future video. Stay safe and keep up the good work. N.
He mentioned in another vid that it's an external battery for starting that keeps them from having to replace the internal battery as often (which is expensive).
What exactly happens in the down draft? Does the plane lose lift and your airspeed drops? Or do you just lose lift and the airspeed stays the same? Prolly stupid question.
@@MissionaryBushPilot I had no major issues maybe once you check it out you might be able to sell your custom flights on the marketplace. Note marketplace down right now. I never got play your routes in FS2020
"A lot of work" This is wonderful understatement. Ryan is doing high speed landing (fast for us. 1 knot is 1.15 mph) in a winged box made of metal, being tossed about like a cork in a pitching storm of water, and in every flight his life is on the line, (especially in PNG) and this was as scary as. To control and react in milliseconds to the forces acting on the plane with the huge potential for disaster is just amazing skill. See the left hand, right hand, L and R feet all working the controls at 14 + minutes in. Ryan makes it look easy.....but it's just brilliant co-ordinated reactive control in challenging wind conditions and terrain. Downdrafts make an interesting Google in relation to flight landings. And .......- a prize for anyone who could see/find the windsock. I for one, could not.
hey love your videos, i sometimes fly your routes in flight simulator with the kodiak :D so much fun. Could you share your flightplans on your description ? with VORs etc ?
My wife and I pray often for your safety and your family. Love the channel.
thank you!

Worst time for that downdraft Ryan, handled like a pro as always👍
Making all that look easy. What a pro!
Whew! That looked like a carrier landing!!
The coffee is probably good in PNG
You are an incredible pilot though, and one of the few people that I would probably ever consider being in a small aircraft with.
Great video brother! What a landing! God was with you as you powered up to arrest that sinking airplane to hit the button. Good anticipation on your part🙏🏻
....a BUMPY day for flying in PNG....thanks Ryan
Ryan, Prayers and a thank you for the help you give to others.
That was a "skivvie check" landing...whew! Well done Captain.
Nice landing pal.. Certainly a cardiac workout ...lol
That was thrilling to watch! I know it must have been REALLY thrilling for you. Wow!
@6:00 pilot of MAG has a very pronounced south-east England accent!
Great video. Pro landing man! Very cool.
Terrific!!
And it’s always a good flight!
Outstanding airmanship, even with all the gusts and crosswind, your control movement was smooth yet authoritative. Very well done. Reminds me of my glider towing days. Thanks 🏍️🇨🇦
So many control surface movements on that really scary landing, yep thats a maga stressful landing
Bottom dropped out ! I hate that feeling on final.
Sir,you are a great pilot! Thanks for showing the gauges at start up, wanting to start my turbine time and this really helps
Thanks for sharing your experiences. ❤

Good morning from Minnesota USA! Great episode!
Wow! Beautifully handled Sir! 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video! I felt stressed just watching your landing! Excellent planning for every possible scenario. Thanks for sharing!🙏
Great airmanship there! Thanks for sharing!
Well done Ryan...a varsity landing...
15:00 that's how I felt when I saw your picture in Pilot Debrief's video thumbnail two months ago, haha. I thought he only does accidents.
Same!

Hi Ryan : it looks hot & humid there : lots of good level people working.
Nice job. That was a hardcore draft at 100 ft or so.

Wow, now that was something else! No cardio was needed for that day, huh?
Thanks Ryan. Hope that was your last flight of the day. Feet up and an ice cold tea (or coffee) lol.... :-)

You should do a video of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 flying one of your regular routes and see how well you nail it on there.
Nicely done Sir!🫡
You must love cats, Ryan! They appears to have given you most of their 9 lives!
Well, not exactly an environment for enthusiastic amateurs today. Thanks God it is remote enough to prevent them to try their luck...🤫

Thank God you a skilled pilot. Rookie we would have not made it.
Ryan that was a lot of work for me as I was right seat flying with you.. and I didn’t even have to say my aircraft 😅
Nice how you compose your movies! I started a few years ago recording my flights and still love it. They get better through the years.. The Excel sheets on the Ipad you use for calculations-preflight, you made it yourself? Is it fpr sharing? If so, could you let me know? Grtz, D.

I enjoy your videos. How about some info. on the company?
That makes Coucheval in the Alps look (almost) like kindergarten.
You had a lot of throttle in as you landed. Clearly a big downdraft. :)
Ok, cool.
Hey Ryan! Are those 4x8 sheets of plywood going in as cargo? That's a super capable bird/door!
What are those stick things you pushed up into the wing tanks? How do you tell how much fuel you have?
I've often wondered how those fuel level "dipsticks" work. Can you explain?
2:25 what is that thing an airport worker takes off the plane after starting the engine? Some sort of external power source for ignition or something?
He mentioned in another vid that it's an external battery for starting that keeps them from having to replace the internal battery as often (which is expensive).
Ryan - did I see an Alternator Failure Warning on startup at the 2:32 mark in the video?
It shows up when you forget to turn on your alternator
💯
14:05 The stressful part.
Thanks! 👍
good one brother, and: is 8000 an altitude or a flightlevel ? rgds, ex-talair pilot.
How does the under the wing fuel dip work?
magnetic

Wow
Wow! burned up the entire length of runway
Flying in PNG sucks mid-day with between the winds & thermo updrafts
Are you building time? Why??
Looks dangerous 😢
👍👍👍
FS 2024 just came out a few days ago.
Is it any better?

that got quiet for a few , S C A R Y Y Y
Ryan sporting a beard! Not too hot for that? Anyways my wife said it looks good lol!!😊
Should’ve put a lump of coal in your seat because it probably would’ve been a diamond by the time you touchdown and stopped….
I might be wrong but these videos are pre recorded and he left
Yikes
