Don does realize that Rice played as a lone 6 for half the season last season? Thats the period he was getting multiple MOTMs. What’s the “structure” he’s talking about? Kai Havertz? Jorginho?
That was the period when we failed to progress the ball up the field and forever passing between Rice and our defenders.
We couldn’t break down low blocks and couldn’t create good chances. So we lost precious points to mid table teams. Rice, Havertz, Tomiyasu/Kiwior were big reasons of that.
