- I just bought a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg TDI!
This luxurious SUV was part of the Volkswagen Dieselgate 2 years ago. It was bought back by Volkswagen and fixed to match the emission regulation. Once VW completed the recall, I decided to buy it.
Watch the video and tell me what you think about my decision in the comments.

I have a 2013 Touareg TDI. It is a towing BEAST! I've towed a 4,500 lbs. camper over the Grapevine in California and back as well as to Yosemite and back and in the Santa Fe mountains and back. While towing this camper it gets a remarkable 14.5 mpg. I love this vehicle!
I actually just bought a 2012 Executive in Ohio as well, I fly out in 2 weeks to get it.
I just bought a 2012 TDi Executive with 103k miles from a VW dealer for 13k USD (15k with with registration, fees, and taxes). How many miles on yours? Are you willing to share what you paid?
Congrats bud!
Oichyn harasho -- two thumbs up!! It looks like I'll be doing the same thing very shortly!
The 2012 Executive added as standard, Pushbutton start, 20” wheels, heated steering wheel, and a few other small items.
Hi I just bought a VW touareg 2005 without a DPF and addblue, cast iron block, cast iron fuel pump, springs
I highly recommend the 2010 YM, especially if you’re in the market for one under $20k and want more off road chops. IMO the first gen drives much better too. It’s handling is just phenomenal and doesn’t feel as bulky as the second gen. And of the first gens I would really only recommend the 2010 unless maintenance costs aren’t a priority for you. The 2010 is the only year they ever made that was rated reliable, and I certainly wouldn’t want a 11+ year old unreliable vehicle which are your only other first gen options. Gonna be cheaper to maintain than a second gen too. Second gens have that 100k mile warranty but you’re gonna be in trouble as soon as the warranty expires.
I’m in the market for a new tow rig.... These are looking very attractive!
I purchased a 2013 Passat TDI. Dark gray with black interior with 34.400 miles. A great gift for my wife. $15.000.
Also the 2013 brought in the newer more refined 3.0 TDi. Making it the same motor as was being used in Europe.
I just bought a 2011 Touareg TDI w/55k mi. for $16k. I'm a very happy man
Im looking at a 2011 with 92k miles, so similar to yours. My question is, are you happy with your purchase or do you have any regrets now?
I would highly recommend a 2010 with
@@noahmcdaniel4920 does the 2010 version have a 8 speed?
I got a golf tdi, its an awesome car
Totally agree: I got one and planning to get the Touareg...Once you are used to the torque and efficiency of the Tdi's, you can not go back...!
You paid $27k for a 2012 with 90k miles?..... There's 2014's online for under 20 with half the miles..
I hope it was money well spent? Good luck!
Hello if I buy one which I'm.looking at. 2012 106k on clock 10500 is it worth it anything I should be aware does VW have warranty on all of them ?
I bought a 2016 VW Touareg TDI. I paid 55k after taxes and fees. Very solid car
any reliability issues or trouble with it? I am considering a 2017 V6 Touareg Wolsberg.
I would hope that most of the issues were sorted out by this models final year.
mike duncan I bought the TDI. Totally different car then the wolfsbrg. Very solid
@@yankeedoodle6293 thanks
Looking at one myself. Have you had any issues a year in?
Mmmh, just saw a VW recertified 2017 Toureg TDi with only 2,300 Kilometers. Asking price is $42k USD Location in Mexico I'm really tempted...
I’m buying a 2011 tdi toureg and I want to replace the map sensor ( manifold absolute pressure) do you know where is located?
Good move
Did warranty come from VW or dealer? Did you buy from VW dealership?
The gen2 Touaregs come with 100k miles/10 years powertrain warranty. Then there is an additional warranty 4 years / 48k miles from the moment the car was fixed, on the dieselgate fixed cars for components affected by the fix: fuel system, exhaust, engine, ecu etc. Check with vw on details for your specific vehicle if you plan to get one.
@@TheRealMeCoWhy but if you are at 90k miles, then you only have 10k miles left in that original warranty.
Then this is 10k more than I ever had on most of my cars. ;)
I live by Tavarish motto: "I am the warranty"...
@@TheRealMeCoWhy Well said and congrats on that awesome car...buying one soon FGW!
Where and how did you get it? Are they only available thru dealers that are buying them up or did you find it from VW once they re-programmed it?
VW sells the cars through wholesale auctions. I bought mine from a dealer who got it from auction.
Totally "Dramatical!"
What it's tolly "dramatical"
@@anthonyduchemin5574 I just saw this. MeCoWhy? said it at time 3:00. I don't even think dramatical is a word, but he said it.
Oth8ng like a European built Volksy. Enjoy
