SynthPlex 2022: Entropy and Sons Positronic Recsursion Studio

- We first saw this at NAMM where it was a surprisingly popular video. Honestly we didn't know you were into this kind of thing. So when we saw they were here at Synthplex we figured we'd better check and where they were with the production.
Good news is that they are on track for some units to be shipping early next year around Jan-Feb. You can preorder these at their website for around $1200.
The Positronic Recsursion Studio is a stand alone generative video image synthesizer with some really impressive real-time control either via MIDI or via one of the 8 CV inputs, making it a pretty cool companion for your jams or live performances. The complexity and qaulity of the video output is impressive and something you could easily get lost in for hours. I mean we know about modular time, so video modular time has got to be off the scale right?

Surely he's missing a trick by NOT playing some music with this?!?
I went to their website and it's pretty interesting, especially the price.
$1,000,000.00 Sale price $1,200.00
From One million to only $1,200, that's great.
Very cool
I'd love something like this but maybe a pi based DIY version with less I/O so I can actually afford it. My creaky laptop won't run visual stuff without having a tantrum and it would be nice to get hands on with visuals. If I had the dosh I'd be all over this!
I'd love to see what it does with video input. People really like looking at themselves, especially musicians. ;-)
4:37 it's input-ing the video! great possibility
$1200 is pretty steep. Can see professional VJs or musicians with touring A/V setups taking an interest, but to an average enthusiast, that's a lot of dough.
Looks cool! Good to see a proper visual synth with 5-pin MIDI! Too bad it only outputs HDMI!
yet better to scale down than scale up!
Looks awesome, if it was cheaper I would buy it. Should be like £500 then it would be worth it imo.
I love the device, but hate the price. I get that they're a small manufacturer and that the build quality is better than teenage engineering's OP-Z, but the OP-Z can load custom made patches made in Unity, in addition to being a groovebox....and it's a third of the price.
Playing with video feedback is fun, no doubt about it. This is an intriguing product, but I’m not sure I’m willing to pay $1,200 for a device which only creates kaleidoscopic patterns.
can load other visual software also, see other videos
👁👁👁 1 instrument in a million is made for VJ's!
whats the point...no audio ?????
Furst!
dude..
I think an iOS app would be better suited to this…
Looks cool as a hardware synth I’m not so interested in the video stuff though
bruh that's what it's literally for
@@Dilettanteworks Lol
👍
Total rip off of some software of 10 years ago. Same patterns but $1100 more...
you could say that about new sound gear vs VST and clones also. ; - ) video effects will be similar, but it's what you do with them now.
