I contacted garmin support and was told the processor in the uhd2 version has been upgraded but they didn't give exact specs. So as far as i know its faster but not sure how much.
Great video looking at purchasing my first Garmin. I’m planning on doing most of my fishing insore fishing in South Carolina marsh and near mouth of inlets. What unit should I look at in the 7-9” range? Thank you
That increased amp draw will be an issue for ice fisherman. The days of being able to use a lighter/cheaper 18-20AH battery for a weekend trip are over...
Wonder if the GPS will keep up with the boat when even at low trolling speeds. Right now I am past a waypoint when map says I am over it. 93sv unit. Hummingbird is right on.
The lowrance elite 9fs screen resolution is: 800X480 and the helix 9 screen resolution is: 1024X600 BUT the helix is $1599, so it is significantly higher than the garmin or lowrance but the helix has the same screen resolution as the garmin
Josh I just want panoptics to stop taking screen shots I've tried everything from downloading the new update cleaning the buttons. The only thing I haven't done is replacing the transducer. So I might be buying a new transducer
Question. Did they actually upgrade the processors in these things so they aren't so lacking in response? It's bad enough they were using 2010 cell phone resolution for years now. Now it looks like they are going up to between 2011 to 2012 resolutions.
So if I have a 126 on my bow and I get 2 of these UHD2s and I hard wire one of the UHD2s to my 126 up front will I be able to share my sonar with all 3 units?
You say that the UHD2 has a 20% increase in screen resolution over the UHD. Isn’t it a 60% increase? 1,024×600=614,400 which is 60% more than 800×480=384,000.
@Will Selby Fishing thanks for clearing that up. Now the question is how much of a noticeable resolution difference will there be between the 93 UHD II and the 106 Ultra? I'm running the 106 on my kayak over my 93uhd just because of how much better the resolution is. The 106 is pretty big for a kayak, and I've felt the 93 the perfect size.
@@WillSelbyKayakFishing @Josh Kliniske Resolution is defined as pixels/area. The screen size (area) of the UHD2 93sv and UHD 93sv are the same, so the difference in resolution is then just the difference in number of pixels, i.e., 614,400 (1,024×600) vs. 384,000 (800×480), which is a 60% increase for the UHD2. The Garmin video says "50% more pixels," which is clearly wrong but is certainly closer to correct than 20%. I don't know what it means that "20% increase in resolution will give you a 50% clearer image" - what units measure "clearer image"? Because resolution is a function of area, you can’t just compare one dimension (1024 to 800) as Selby does. BTW, 20% of 800 is 160.
It says the typical draw is 1.72 amps but max is 3.5. Does that mean 3.5 amps is the max when using all the features such as wireless sharing, clearvu, sidevu etc?
The screen resolution is probably best upgrade, then mapping in my opinion. Do you think their going to release a echomap ultra 2? I just got an ultra 106sv before Christmas on sale. It was 999.99 then using my bass pro club card it saved me another 200 + I earned $42 in points which is money in the store. So I got my Ultra 106sv for 758.99 + tax. A killer deal! It did come with gt54 but I found brand new gt56 online for $365. So it's on the way. I've been very happy with my Ultra on my PA12-360. Also added steady cast & navionics vision+ card, mapping is awesome for sure. Lvs34 has also been ordered...
Thanks for a good video! Now my biggest question is..... what is the difference between the uhd2 93sv, 94sv, and 95sv?? Seems you talk about the 93sv - I just bought a 95sv, did I get the lower model?
They're all still a ripoff.....if one really looks at it. One can get a 58" 4k TV for $268. The screen is really no different (other than the not needed touch screen feature). All the processors, well they're running behind of many products.....just look at cell phones not to mention something like a Ryzen 7 5800x at $238. They're not really any different either, they process 1's and 0's too. Heck a cellphone processor is even better than what comes in these things. Speaking of cellphones, even the cheap $60 ones come with bluetooth,wifi,GPS... and you can even make calls to someone on the other side of the world, surf the web, watch videos, make videos and pictures,etc....and it's also has touch screen. The only real difference between a TV and any fishfinder is the transducer, but that works like any cable converter box just in reverse. It takes a signal, converts it,and transmits out to the TV. Firmware that tells the system and components what/what not to do. Add all those up and you're getting close to what these companies are ripping everyone off for it's just packaged in a smaller package and older/slower tech. Here's another fun fact of them ripping you off... Look at Humminbird back in the day, with their 998's and a few other 98 series. One could get the 9" 998c but you could also hook any size monitor up to it just simply using a cable and see everything one sees on the finder...and if the TV/monitor was better resolution.....well. Once people started doing that they found they were losing sales and money from them not buying other sizes and thus getting ripped off even more they dropped that feature. Then look at the price difference in 2" from one model to the next... It's all a scam and everyone is falling for it that isn't bright enough to realize it. Everything anymore is at a 1000% + markup than what it takes to produce a product because greed and everyone wanting to make their millions overnight.
@@rider660r not at all, seemed like you had it all broke down and was hoping you would follow through and make us a better and more affordable unit in your socialist utopia.

Also an issue for kayaks, the uhd 95sv draws around 0.9A in average with everything on and full brightness. Uhd2 will require triple the battery.
Currently running a 73cv on a kayak. looking into upgrading soon.
What did you end up going with? I just bought a 73cv and am thinking about taking it back and getting a uhd 73sv

Did you make a video of it on the water? There still isn't one video of someone testing it on the water. Which is crazy!
Would the resolution be better than the sv73uhd? If you compare the pixels per inch, it doesn't look like it would be.
Will the universal ram mounts also work on this model
I got a question. I have an older 93sv echomap 9” with the newer 93sv echomap will the newer transducer still comunicate with the older unit?
What kind of lag is there in the wireless networking? (Delay between units)
Unsure at this time, once we get our hands on two of them, we would be more than happy to post the results
How does that new screen resolution compare to the Hbirds or the Lowrance units at similar price point? Thanks:-)

What is a better buy, getting the UHD but with a gt56 or getting the UHD2 with a gt54?
Can i run a GT51-TM (offshore Transducer) on this and use it as a offshore unit as well?

yes, if both uhd2 units are mounted on the console and one of the console uhd2 units is hard wired to the 126 on the bow.
@RussellMarineProductsLLC awesome! Thanks for the reply bud!

The 2nd number changes only the mapping that comes with the unit as far as I know. Go to their website and choose between the different map options.
