We were cleaning our house when I found this gun. my mom told me my late dad (who passed away this April) used it to shoot birds and go hunting back in the day. I didn't know much about it, so I asked one of my friends whos very well with guns and he shared me this video I must say. Yeah ive seen a guy saying he was on the 2nd seal and it wasnt doing any better (blew it after a few shot) and you got some mag problems, I dont know if it is the best option out there, we need more underlevers options
I bought this a few days ago , I am waiting for the 5.5 mm pointed pellets to arrive , but I have to say , it's awesome! Mine has a feature where the iron sights have 2 small green things , that are highly reflective which results in a glow like effect , which aids in aiming in low lighting settings ! It's truly awesome
I owe you many thanks! As I dream of the TX200 (which looks quite similar but 10 - 15 times the cost). I found one in 22 caliber from a distributor named 'Lost World' just a moment ago for $84.35. A minute earlier I found a Chinese B3 clone from National Standard Products priced at $129.00. Almost ordered a Beeman QB78 priced at $170.00 and glad I didn't. The Chinese have made quality service rifles throughout the last century. China even offered high quality manufactured military replicas (A grade) for those in the U.S. surplus / replica rifle market pre-1989. 'Polytechnology' milled & drop forged AK47's is an example of such a quality item delivered to the consumer with quality everything. I have owned and regret trading 2 of those...but Norinco stamped AK47's function and feel the same, and are gone from the U.S. market the same.

@@ohshoot444 These are still in production. It looks like a piece of junk, but I am strangely attracted to it. It's something about the color of the stock, thick varnish, color of the bluing over the coarse machining marks and the big gap between the barrel and the cocking lever. They don't need CO2, or High Pressure Air. I have read that the early models, like yours, either don't have safety features, or they are faulty. Don't lose a finger to it! I guess you would hold the cocking lever every time you load it (but they tell us to do that anyway.) I see they are available in both .177 and .22. Hmmm.
Cool vid, no BS, very informative. Just remember to tighten the stock screws every 300 shots. I've owned one of those springers and they are tidy bits of kit for (the price) upto 23 yds - for targets or small game or pests. E.g. pest feral pigeons, squirrels, mice or rats, and even rabbits upto 20 yards as well. Rob, UK.
As if 7 air guns weren't enough, I was recently given a B3 .177 in very good condition. The reciever is stamped with the Cummins Industrial Tools Logo between breech and barrel. Shoots quite good. Chrony results with JSB RS express 7.33g diabolo were 663 fps avg. and 7.1 fpe. 8.44 jsb exact clocked in at 642 fps. avg. and just under 7 fpe. It is a lot of fun to shoot. I put an ultra cheap 4X20 scope on it and it will shoot quarter sized groups at 10 m. Until the weather gets better that's as long as I can stretch my indoor range and yes, I do hear about it from the little woman... }:-0 ! Looking forward to tinkering with this one. BTW, I own a .22 Synergis. I like the action and repeater functions. Have had no problems as long as you don't try to load too long a pellet in the mag. I would like to see a single shot tray added to the mix, but it may not work well with the breech design. Really likes heavier pellets in the 16-19gr. range. accurate enough for a .22, of course your mileage may vary. lol Thanks for your content. I like the laid back delivery.
The B3's tend to go through breech seals. There is a video out there where a guy is s a common faucet seal as a breech seal. Easy to find. Search UA-cam for B3 breech seal. I think this is the air rifle known most for cutting fingers when loading. I think the concept of an underlever, or side lever air rifle makes sense, with the barrel remained by stationary. Used to be able to order B3's for $19.95. And, we know you enjoy tinkering with your airguns. If it makes you happy, then more power to you brother.
Just had one in .22 delivered this afternoon. Just under 70 bucks total. Only markings are the serial number. Put a dozen or so Crosman HPs through it resting it on the back of a lawn chair to check it out. It's burning off oil and it's awkward to load but it's still brand new to me. Have to zero it in tomorrow but at a measured 20 yards it's a fine shooter so far. Been eyeing the Hatsan 95 in .22 but wanted something in the mean time to plink with. This thing looks to be a fun little rifle.
Little info if anyone is interested. So far about 300 Crosman HPs and a 100 or so Gamo Rockets through it. Both are just as accurate, or inaccurate, in my particular rifle with me pulling the trigger. Only difference I see is in loading. The Crosman drop in without resistance with about an 1/8" of the chamber showing. Most fall out if the rifle is held vertical. Gamo are snug and have an audible click when seated. It usually shaves a little skin off the very bottom of the skirt. They sit flush with the chamber end. Open sights and rested at 10 yards pretty much all pellets of both brands will touch. Out to 17 or so it's still very acceptable. Definitely a fun inexpensive rifle so far. Not a huge fan of the sloppy trigger but the gun is growing on me. It's solid. It's not purpose built for critter getting if that's your thing but I'd pull the trigger for a head shot on a small one to about 15 yards with it. Not much further. Plenty accurate and adequate power at that range. Still eyeing the Hatsan 95. Pretty rifle. Need to just order the thing already. Back door of my garage to the back fence is 137 yards. It's legal for me and I've shot my powder burners here a few times. Be nice to have something quiet, accurate and powerful enough out to about 40. Keep my belly full without scaring everything half to death. Edit: Attempted to make paragraphs in this wall of text novel.
If you're buying a new one, I'd go .22 cal. If you can find an old leather sealed one off of ebay and are handy, they are a little better made than the new ones.

Seems to shoot very smoothly doesn't 'clang!' like many 'quality' springers. You mention oil and leather piston washers - I am fixing up a 1950 Webley MK1 pistol and have bought a new 'hard' leather washer, I'm wondering what oil is best to soften it.
Check out the pyramid air site. They had a great article on that years ago. I think leather seals work great! They are actually more consistent. Less power. But when one is running good it’s sweet.
I rescued my late father’s .177 Chinese pellet rifle from the back yard after he passed in 2016 (my nephew apparently left it after shooting at squirrels) it was in rough shape from laying outside in the Georgia weather…but after a good cleaning…it still works well…pretty tough air rifle 👍👍👍
Hey man cool vid. Is there a pellet rifle that is around 20-23 inches in total length that is powerful enough to penetrate the skin of a coyote or other wild animals of that size that you could recommend me? Ty.
If I had a thick enough piece of leather it would be. I like leather seals. I’ve got some new camera equipment coming soon. I hope to be able to make longer videos. Gonna try and get a desktop computer going for editing.
i have one like it but slightly different, the iron sight is in the front not in the back, and just a lil bit difference in shape, and it's really hard to find these, they almost gonna go extinct. it belonged to my father a really long time ago since like 1968. and it's still functional without replacing anything!
I would have liked an underlever in my collection for sure but I could only find the umarex browning leverage (and it was of course priced to make you pay the name) im not sure about this brand I heard seal issues and the only one I tried was awfull to cock (it was a break barrel)
The Browning is basically the same as XS46U, shoots great, solid quality except the plastic end cap/spring guide. You can get a tuned one from Mike at Flying Dragon AR as well.
B-3 is one I'd recommend but its still a bit of a lottery whether you get a good one out of the box. really lucky on mine, shoots straight and 656 fps with Daisy 7780 HP's, 705 fps from 7gr Quicksilver match, hits better than expected.
The Browning 495 version from Walmart/Umarex was on sale like 90 with a good scope. Need few washers to make it shoot great. There are many mod notes on GTA. Not pellet picky.
my grandfather had one of these and i couldn't figure out what it was called for the life of me, i know a decent amount about firearms but had no idea what the loading mechanism on this was called, though looking at the term it should've been pretty obvious, either way thank you
Wish I could post a picture of the one I have , it was my grandpas Never got a chance to ask him the make and model but it looks like that one, just a lil big lighter brown and has rubber at the end of the stock
I just picked up a B3 variant from a garage sale yesterday. It wasn't until I got it home that I realized it didn't have a rear sight, and the plastic part at the end of the piston fell apart (common problem apparently). Where can I find parts for this gun? I picked it up because the price was right. I don't want to put too much into it to being the price back up to Amazon levels. It looks like this may be an older model; the sight may have been removed so a scope could be mounted on the dovetail grooves. I think the newer versions have the rear sight at the end of the break barrel. I guess I could 3D print the plastic part, but I'd still be grateful for information about a parts dealer in the US, or a "suitable sub" for the rear sight. I don't want to mount a scope on this thing.
If it’s just the cap, it’s not needed. That’s on the outside of the rifle. If it’s the piston seal, they have those on eBay. The rear sight, I’d just get a tip-off to Picatinny adapter and run a scope.
@@ohshoot444 I realize it's just for looks but it is an OCD trigger for me, much like a missing 4.5mm socket in a socket set. ;D I'm already mocking up a replacement and will have one printed by this evening. I may even machine one out of Delrin or Aluminum. Can't just let things be.
Does it have a dove tail on the receiver? This rifle would look cool with an old peep site sling studs on the side with rings and an OD green canvas rifle strap. All you need is a pack of Russian cigarettes and an old WWII helmet and you got a photo shoot
I just found one of these at in a garbage heap. It shoots, the wood needs sanding and a new coat. What do you mean by detonating? I haven’t shot it yet and not sure if it shoots bbs, pellets or both
Detonating is when the pressure in the tube get's high enough to cause combustion. Makes a rifle shoot awful. It should shoot pellets. If you're in the us you can get replacement parts for it. Also if you send it my way I'll go through the action for you.

Did you try to shoot it with the lever open? I'm not sure what this was called. But, they're basically all the same design. Give me some more details on exactly what happened.
The piston seals and Breech seals and sear springs you can get on ebay now But u better hurry there getting expensive to import due to shipping and Covid in China
I personally like tinkering and adjusting Airguns it's like machines if not cared for or maintained then the won't last and some just need loving before you can properly use sorta like oiling tinman up before he can chop wood

it belonged to my father a really long time ago since like 1968. and it's still functional without replacing anything!
@@modelnutty6503 you know canada wont let me get this chinese wonder 🤣
@@cnyjyk I dont know about the XS46U ill take a look at it, there is not alot of reviews on the browning also
The Browning 495 version from Walmart/Umarex was on sale like 90 with a good scope. Need few washers to make it shoot great. There are many mod notes on GTA. Not pellet picky.
The old b3s have the rear sight behind the breech. I have a Lee #n322401:
I have one should I clean it up lil bit of rust. Should I sell it or na
my grandfather had one of these and i couldn't figure out what it was called for the life of me, i know a decent amount about firearms but had no idea what the loading mechanism on this was called, though looking at the term it should've been pretty obvious, either way thank you
I have a rifle like that one,are they easy to take apart
Wish I could post a picture of the one I have , it was my grandpas
Never got a chance to ask him the make and model but it looks like that one, just a lil big lighter brown and has rubber at the end of the stock
You've probably got an older one with at leather seal. I'd hold onto it. If you need any help with it let me know.
Cool rifle. Operation is the same as the Wierauch HW97.
I have the Db5 custom great rifles and it sounds ok my Db5 custom is 11.4ftlbs thats ok
They have a lot of parts on eBay though
@@ohshoot444 I realize it's just for looks but it is an OCD trigger for me, much like a missing 4.5mm socket in a socket set. ;D
I'm already mocking up a replacement and will have one printed by this evening. I may even machine one out of Delrin or Aluminum. Can't just let things be.
Man let me know how that goes!
@@ohshoot444 works like a champ. How do you want me to send you pics?
Does it have a dove tail on the receiver? This rifle would look cool with an old peep site sling studs on the side with rings and an OD green canvas rifle strap. All you need is a pack of Russian cigarettes and an old WWII helmet and you got a photo shoot
I think its a good looking rifle too! I don't think theres a dovetail. But I've never taken the rear sight off.
I bought a rifle similar at a yard sale. It’s not put together. May look into getting it back together.
I’ve got a couple videos on how to do that on the channel. Let me know if you need any help.
High and left California windage lol
That's gold!
That’s a nice one!
hey man like ur vids and like ur guns
I always dismissed the Chinese guns, but that thing looks amazing!
Dasey 880 onley shoot pellets. The first ones did not have rifled barrels and shot bb. Brtter than pellets
would you tell me where did you get it? want one
This one came from a outdoor market where people sell things. Like a bazaar or flea market.
I have one. Was passed down. Trying to figure out what ammo. .177 4.5 I assume ?
Yes either .177 or .22.
I got Same gun love it I trade a push mower 4 mine I saw one like it sale on eBay 100 love mine
@@ohshoot444 thanks, appreciate it. Cant believe i just came apon it. Yeah i live in the states, by sending it your way im not sure what you mean but im greatful for the offer
You could ship it to me and I’ll clean/lube the action and send it back. No worries.
seals are now for sale on Ebay
Please send a link. I couldn’t find them.

Wer to buy one????
eBay, Amazon, check local pawn shops flea markets.
Are you shooting the pioneer? I bought a vintage pioneer China today from a yard sale for my son. I pulled the under lever down and then I pulled the trigger and I think I broke it because it won't shoot now. 😭 my son hasn't even got to see it yet. Can any one help me? I don't know what to do.can I take it apart and fix it? Maybe I need to replace a spring? Omg I have no idea. I was excited when I got this gun. But I really don't know much about guns yet. I'm still learning. Is there any plastic on yours?
Did you try to shoot it with the lever open? I'm not sure what this was called. But, they're basically all the same design. Give me some more details on exactly what happened.
@@ohshoot444 omg....i didnt break it. i wasnt cocking it correctly. it works. :P thanks for your help though.
That’s awesome!
Where can I get the parts for this air rifle?
Maybe E bay? I’m not too sure. That’s where I got the breech seal.
The piston seals and Breech seals and sear springs you can get on ebay now But u better hurry there getting expensive to import due to shipping and Covid in China
I personally like tinkering and adjusting Airguns it's like machines if not cared for or maintained then the won't last and some just need loving before you can properly use sorta like oiling tinman up before he can chop wood
don't need leather seals, I use plumbing rubber seal with similar shape,. Over a thousand rounds no change in propulsion.
That's interesting. Could you send a part number maybe? I'd like to try that.
I do love airguns and subscribed this channel already.
Chinese B3 Air Rifle is not available in Thailand at all somehow but I like its design so mich.
Please be good friends of mine.
From t2bkk ch in Bangkok Thailand
Thanks!
Just picked up an identical gun it's a cummins industrial tools can't get that chrome piece to open up what's my next move
I recently started looking into my girl friends dad's old rifle and it's this same one but I've shot it 2x and after I let off a pellet there's smoke in the chamber is that normal. My girlfriends dad has been gone about 7 years same time as mine so we don't know much about the rifle but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't locked up and could maybe shoot, is there anything u would recommend me doing to it?
Just keep shooting it. If it persists after 50 or so shots may need to take apart and clean.
I just got one of these guns given to me. It needs work cause it doesn't work at all.
Check out my b3 tuneup videos
Also let me know if you have any issues with it. They’re very easy and fun to work on. Unless it’s just completely rusted together, it’ll work.
HW 97 POW,,,,
Good morning o shoot
I aquired this same air rifle from my mom. It was my granfathers. Can a person with a felon have one in his possession?
I think it's probably okay. I've got a buddy or two in the same situation and they hunt with bows and airguns. I'd check your state laws though just in case.
I know there expensive but dont buy another pellet gun until you can get a 5 or 6 hundred dollar one or you will wind up like me with one of every kind lol
Actually this gun sound good to me it has a little punch to it for a cheap gun!
Search under B3 pellet rifle parts on Ebay
Bloody awful things 😀
