- 2010 Cavaliers "Mad World" show, last run through of the year before they get ready to head back to Lucas Oil Field for DCI Finals. Fantastic year, fantastic corps, fantastic show.
Update: For those many people who wonder why it's focused on the color guard, I was actually recording one of the guard guys who is a good friend of mine and was "aging out" after their performances in Indianapolis. So YES it's guard-centric and NO I wasn't trying to get the hornline or drumline in the video. Sorry. :)
This show deserved a better closer
Only year I marched with the Cavies. Much love.
I must be losing my mind, I thought I saw the horn players spinning rifles.
This was one of the best rifle line in recent CCG years.
how tf did this not win wtf it won all year
Politics with the Blue Devils
The guard are the story- tellers!
Lol the screamers were definitely saving their chops for later but it’s hilarious to hear those notes an octave lower
For the record the red singlet at 4:10 is me ;) it was hot as hell that day and only if you've marched drum corps before would you understand some of the ridiculous outfits you have to wear in order to stay cool. Thanks bye!
looking fresh, dale
This show was a big reason that i ended up marching DCI.
There's no reason this shouldn't have won. It was easily the best show in the past 3 years.
Thank you for this. I could never find a good video of the guard for this show.
@tubajlo how can you not? I'm a euph player, and the cavaliers guard is a guard you can not take your eyes off
@tubajlo, I was just videoing one guard member, that was all I was looking to do... He's a close friend who aged out and this was his last ever run as a Cavalier after a great four years in the Green Machine.
this hornline is probably one of the better lines that Cavies have put out in the last 20 years. They were really good and actually had some low end to carry their sopranos
@9:42 - 10:04 was one of the creepiest things musically ever done in drum corp..
But still AMAZING! The music is so perfect for the theme
The freaking rifle line is crazy insane. They are a really strong corps
Should have won.
If ever there was perfection, 2010 Cavaliers guard was it.
The guard work in this show is FANTASTIC! ahhhh
6:47 is a sweet part!
My god.. those rifle techniques blow my mind.
Where was this shot at? They are usually in Beech Grove during finals week ever since the finals have been in Indy? Just curious.
New Castle High School. My alma mater.
just relized......what happened to the 5th tenor?
Is it just me or is there one particular color guard guy near the left front part of the formation who always fucks up the rifle toss to the other guy in the "Boom Chagu" sequence??? hahahahahaha... Every video I see of this show always ends up with him fucking up the timing and not landing on time the way everyone else does. Must be a designed moment than! Hahahahahaha...
Way to read the description of the video and that I was actually recording my friend who was in the guard.
Why did the other video get deleted?
Please check out my updated comment on the "making of..." this video. Was just trying to video one performer not the whole corps. Glad you enjoyed it, sorry it didn't show all sections more evenly.
I gotta say this was damn good camera work for focusing on one member!
...just from watching, had to be that gorgeous little red-haired Texan Blake...
right?
AWESOME camera work!
This is, FAAAAABULUSSSSSSS
He's the guy at 1:39 standing on the yardline with the rifle up to his head. He was featured quite a few times in this show.
i want to try out for the Cavaliers and Phantom Regiment
@dominickkk5 without a doubt, I saw them live and I was just wow'd... blue devils don't really compare
go stephen & mike!!!
It’s my DREAM to march dci. Not cavaliers, I’m female, but probably with Madison Scouts. Practice up in the north where summer rehearsal will be nice and cold.
It's a good thing they're all gender now
Benj Wait really???
i think THIS IS THE BEST SHOW OF ALL
Good job not reading the description where I SAID I was focused on a friend who was in the guard and this was his age-out.
@dfwhoser Which one is your friend?
They really should have won this year... Blue Devils weren't even that good.
I was pretty sure the Colour guard in Red singlet @4:10 was a female. . Untill i remembered Cavies were all man. .
And damn, Best bunch of Guards i've ever seen!
wow this honestly has to be one of the most amazing guard performances ive ever seen in my life...nd im on drumline...i usually hate the guard..this changed my view
This place looks familiar..oh right, it was at my high school. Loved having the Cavies with us. Such a fine group of young men who were eager to help us young pups in the high school marching band.
great video, great show, but focusing on the hornline while the drumline plays oceans of notes during the drumbreak....doh
lol. 10:57, marimba guy.
he has the cutest dopiest smile EVER. :D
@Gamrspt full metal jacket
@psychomike443 they had five at the beginning of the season
Look at the rifle work! day-um!
way to film the corp...during the drum break...
Perfect guard show...
my bad.
@dfwhoser Nope - I'm a (now) second year horn players mom and just love video taping and recognize talent! I know Blake tho, and helped his Mom measuring the MaD guARd in TeXas last year.
So I say again - AWESOME camera work!
@rreemmzzrruullee
he cut his wrist or something and couldn't play for at least the last 2 weeks.
full metal jacket
GO TIM
I wonder why that place looks familiar. Oh yea thats at my high school lol before our band practice
6:10 all i could watch was the timpanist
no dislikes...hmmm
synth*
i personally dont think you should've focused on the guard so much.
Best part of the show! 2:50-3:05
Wow, that was excellent. !!!! 1st place!!!!
@zotpatrolmom, you sound like Blake's mom.
Dut
No... That's a glockenspiel with a xylophone set up... not a synth haha
what's a spoolie?
Good job not recording any of the drum break...
When the lead trumpets are chopped out asf.
