    I particularly was satisfied with this demonstration because it was explained quite slowly and explicitly. I was able to do it myself immediately and the Eldredge Knot looked great on me & is certainly one way women can pull off wearing ties. Thanks Ben ;)

    I'm not sure why I'm up at 4AM learning how to tie a tie in a method I've never heard of, or even seen before. Why is it called an Eldredge knot? Thanks for posting, good info and description!

    • @MyNiceTie
      @MyNiceTie  10 років тому +7

      The name was given by its creator, although I'm not that confident that the person who claimed the knot really created it.

    • @metatechnologist
      @metatechnologist 6 років тому +6

      The guy who claims it is on reddit and his name is Eldredge. While he may not have invented it, he certainly did popularize it. I consider this a knot to use at weddings and similar celebratory events. In order to do so though, people need to practice tying this thing otherwise they'll run out of time trying to figure it out the day of the wedding!

    I rarely comment on videos I watch, but the way you explained this one, actually came out just perfect! I can see how explaining some ties on camera is challenging, but the steps you take the audience through is easy and I tied it perfect first try!👍🏾👍🏾. Hey. I just want to say thank you for posting this amazing video. I have seen 2-3 videos on the eldredge knot and I guess I was always doing it wrong,but your title slow beginner is what made me chose your video. So I made this knot before work and people noticed it I love the eldredge knot your video was so helpful,but if you can you said at the end this is not a knot you would use to go to church. I love church I would so want to show off my tie as women show off hats lol you know what I am talking about them big church hats women wear lol,but yeah why is this not a church knot? again thank you for this video I never got the knot right until a found your video. • @robertbrantley1986
      @robertbrantley1986 10 років тому +4

      Chan Smith Based on traditional sartorial style, single-breasted suits should not have the bottom button fastened. On a three button suit jacket, the rule of thumb is (starting at the top button) sometimes, always, never. The top button may be buttoned or not. The middle button should always be buttoned. The bottom button should never be buttoned. The design and cut of modern suits have changed to leave the bottom button unfastened, and do not have the correct fit and drape when it's fastened. While one can fasten their bottom button to attempt to be "cool" or different, the majority of people I come across fastening the bottom button are wearing their suit for the first time. I prefer to wear the suit itself traditionally, and differentiate myself with unique shirts, shoes, ties, and tie knots, of course.

    • @MyNiceTie
      @MyNiceTie  9 років тому

      But if you want to be really cool...you just button the bottom two. Am I right? :)

    Excellent Video...
    It was a perfect instructional pace. I followed each step as per your instruction and it turned out perfect on first try.
    I used the mirror behind my cell phone and paused when necessary. I'll be using it for my son's wedding on January 3rd, 2015. It will show off very dapper under my vest.
    Once I completed the knot, I loosened carefully, hung it in my hotel room closet, and am excited to show it off wedding day.
    Thanks again, brother. Btw, I did use a solid color (Royal Blue against Black Shirt & Vest) and it looks sharp. Also, it was a normal length tie, so I would recommend if using it over a dress shirt to buy a longer tie, as you mentioned. It will not be a big deal for me because my vest will hide the length of my tie, which is short.
    Subscribed.

    Hi buddy,
    Thank you so much for the clearly spoken and detailed instructions. I learned this knot quite a few years back, but I hadn't used it in a long time. Very fashionable and beautiful knot. I watched some other videos here on UA-cam, but they were in no way as clear and concise as were your instructions.
    I've always loved dressing nice and wearing fashionable clothes, but living in Thailand does not allow me that luxury as much as I would like. I'm a former Marine (love my dress blues) and retired U.S. Army Helicopter Test Pilot, but now I'm an English teacher in Chonburi, Thailand. This does allow me to wear a nice shirt and tie on special occasions, so maybe I'll get in touch with you on your website and see if you can find me some nice shirts, cuff links, ties, tie tacks/pins etc.,
    God Bless You and Yours!!!
    Thanks again,
    Cpt. Michael
    P.s. Do not allow some of your comments to get you down, because you provide a wonderful product and service for many appreciative people in the world and God sees all.

    Had a busy day a couple of days ago, and felt like dressing up for it. But the tie I had was a thinner, silky tie, and the windsor knot just wasn't working for me. A google search directed me to this video, and the knot looked awesome, so I gave it a try. My first stop was a play audition, and everyone from the other auditioners to the casting people commented on the knot. Don't know if I'll get the part, but they'll certainly remember me! Later that night was a performance of a play a friend of mine wrote. I didn't know any of the actors, but the next day when i ran into one of them, their first comment was, "Oh, you were the guy with that cool necktie knot last night." Definitely a great way to get people to remember you. Thanks!

    Instructions unclear. There's blood everywhere. They're all dead. I tied it to long. The stress got to me. I hear the sirens. The once bright faces of all these children, now riddled with holes and drenched in blood. They are almost upon me now. It serves me right whatever judgement they pass on me. However no punishment would ever be enough to compensate for the the blood on my hands and the strangling tie holds...

    I just wore this tie knot to my brothers wedding, and it was a great success. Had lots of people ask me the name of the knot, came home with a few extra phonenumbers to network with.
    Luckily I practiced it a couple of times in front of a mirror, and that came in handy at the wedding itself, because the familymen from the lady's side wanted to tie this knot too, so I taught a few in the bathroom right before the vows were exchanged.
