What better way to celebrate the release of the Irons' studio album 17 than by watching you guys react to another great song by the Maiden. Up the Irons !!!!
The reason why the guitars aren't as up front in this song is because this was around the time Dave Murray and Adrian Smith were experimenting with guitarist synth pedals. So the synthesizers you are hearing are being played on the guitar rather than the conventional keyword synthesizer. So what happens is they are playing the guitar and the foot pedal converts the notes to a synth sound. It was a thing in the late 80's. Maiden did not have a keyboard player at the time. (now they do live behind the Curtin) so this was their way to improvise. And btw if you listen to the drums there's a cowbell! Can we get a MORE COWBELL SHOUT OUT PLEASE!!!
I came back to this song after 15 years (im 28) my stepfathers was a really passionate Iron Maiden and i distinctly remember the ''Can i play with madness?'' This song brought tons of good memories, im emotional...
I'm 54 and Iron Maiden has been my 2nd all time favorite band since day 1(only 2nd fav because I only listened to Kiss when I was younger (until Maiden existed); Up The Irons!
I chime in with the chorus for "Can I Play with Madness." I'd say it's the 'radio friendly' song on the album. "Seventh Son..." has one of the best metal finishes ever.
Again guys Infinite dreams, it's epic and it also has a little experimental synth (off the same album as this tune, it's widely regarded as an absolute anthem yet no one reacts to it🤷♂️.
Im a big fan of Iron Maiden . I will listen thier music for the rest of my life . Something that surprised me , the song "Hell on earth " from their new album . You have to listen this , no joke a masterpiece and maiden at his best !!
Totally love the old maiden, but piece of mind, number of the best, somewhere in time and seventh son is a great run of albums If you listen to the rest of this album you will get a feast of guitar work
Love the charge of the guitar right off the bat! Like that little change up followed by that drive again. Maiden has always been madness! Good adrenaline rush for Larry!!! Loved this guys!!
You both really need to listen to seventh son album from start to finish, and maybe do a full reaction of the album over a few weeks, each song is a continuation of the story from the previous one, think it's called a concept album, it's unreal
Either Number of the Beast or Piece of Mind would be good full albums to do. Both early albums with Bruce. So good and influential. Thanks for the song.
Love you guys man . It's so cool to relive the magic from the day , that I still love just as much , through you guys . I would suspect it's the same for most ppl here . Thanks my friends , and respect
My most favorite song on this album. I am so excited that you both love Maiden as much as I did when I was young, and STILL love . "This song is no less than any other Maiden song we've heard". Larry, truer words couldn't have been spoken. "What were you doing?" Ethan, we were overwhelmed with the eclectic array of music and artists, I know I couldn't keep up. I was fortunate to have metal-heads as close friends. And I'm waiting for you to do a Queensryche album reaction. I'm still looking for that all-Queensryche poll Thursday.
Dad don't kick yourself too much for missing out on Maiden, the '80s were very diverse in music and it was no limit on what direction to go, this decade was perfect, even pop music was enjoyable
Nightwish is my favorite metal band. Bruce is my favorite male metal singer. Floor Jansen my favorite female singer. Ayreon just below Nightwish. Iron Maiden is in my top ten favorite metal bands. Dream Theater also. Try to find live versions of songs. Most times there’re better. It’s 11 p.m. here in the Netherlands
Another great reaction Ethan/Larry! Always look forward to when you guys load up some Maiden. Larry don’t feel bad for missing out on Maiden back in your teen years. Most of the people who listened to Maiden back in those days were considered “burnouts” by the preppies. Maiden stands the test of time, so now you get to share the experience of exploring their extraordinary music with Ethan. It’s a win/win for both of you. Next try listening to Dream of Mirrors or The Clansman both live from Rock in Rio. Keep on rocking on guys!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Hola guys, how are y'all? Great stuff y'all have been cranking out lately, great reactions to them as well. Keep up the great work, thank you so much for the smiles!! Much love&respect!!
I will throw you a curveball on what album to react to. I suggest the first live album Iron Maiden - Live After Death from 1985. There you will have the chance to hear songs from the first 5 albums in one (or two because it's a double album).
My favourie Maiden song! And to think I only got to know them because several people within a very short period of time went: I got this album and don't like it, do you want it? So I got most of their early albums without paying for them, then continued the collection...
This whole album is incredible. I do belive that Can I Play With Madness is the weakest one on this one tho. You should listen to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son :) ! When I was younger, Maiden was my favorite band too. Great musicianship, lyrics, solos, live performances and vocals. They still hold a very special place in my hearth even more than 15 years later :).
It matters not that you missed out ,only that you found them ! Don’t give up the coffee ☕️ make it stronger , then Rock ! I would stick with the older albums, I really don’t jel with the last 3 or 4 albums , but that just me , But hay Number of The beast is an all around Classic album as far as any band goes ! The first singer who’s on Killers & Iron Maiden Iron Maiden Is phenomenal too , , but I would guess a little to raspy a voice then you might care for Larry ! There’s an awful lot of songs to go , you might as well buy some early albums & get started , as none of us are promised Tomorrow! There’s six I believe Bruce Dickinson Solo Albums , you have a lot of make up work to do ! Lol 😆!!!!!!!
that album is the Maiden album that i have great memories from. I became a fan of theirs when that album came out.. i was early teens and i SOOOOOOOO regret missing that tour's show with GNR opening. I did see them on the next tour though :) GREAT album. Can I play with madness might be my least favorite of that album, but i know i'm in the minority when i say that :) For a full album i would recommend Number of the Beast or 7th son.
Definitely one of the catchiest songs in the Iron Maiden catalogue...from one of their best albums. They do have a couple of albums that were kinda "meh" IMO...but even a "meh" Iron Maiden album is better than a lot of the junk that's been released over the years. My favourite album of their is Powerslave so I would say react to that one, but I'm biased haha! Actually any album up to Seventh Son would be great to do a whole album reaction. After that, I'd say that their quality wavered a bit here and there. Also, I would avoid doing the whole new album...it's 82 minutes long and although it's not terrible, it didn't do much to get me excited about the material. Since we're talking about Maiden I'm gonna do something I usually don't do...that's suggest something from the band you just reacted to! Here is Phantom Of The Opera from their 1980 slef-titled debut album (ua-cam.com/video/h8IuFl3sMhk/v-deo.html). Cheers!
You should react to Axel Rudy Pell songs "she's a lady" a remake but fantastically done and "black cat woman". I know, im not a pay per view customer but dont let that stop you from hearing 2 great songs.
Glad you finally got there a short delay. Quite enjoyed Bruce Dickinson's work again. Not sure what it was about this time, seemed to be mentioning prophets, crystal balls, souls burning in lakes of fire... the usual. Album reactions? Now you're talking! Two of my favourites would be ELO's Out Of The Blue and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. You have to cover the classics at the very least.
just to ad to the comment down below...if your son, likes a great guiter riff, in the middle of a song..do the ttitle song from the album "powerslave""...the song is POWERSLAVE...
A great song for sure, but probably the worst on this album...that's how amazing this album is. The title track is highly recomended. Excellent reaction as always! AAA+++
Penney dreadfull must be heard cladies unite the new cd rocks change is coming. An words fail me starstruck is solid folk metal skyclad best paralment of Fools
new album is meh... maiden is gold until seventh. brave new world is good too, the only one i listen from "modern era".. and that album is like from 2002 or something..
Somewhere In Time and Powerslave are tied as my favorite albums...
Somewhere in Time and Piece of Mind are tied for me
Same!! Somewhere in time and powerslave are maiden at their best in my opinion!! 🤘
Ohh ohh hoo hoo hoo.... Must see live version from 1988..... Oh YES .....!!!!!
What better way to celebrate the release of the Irons' studio album 17 than by watching you guys react to another great song by the Maiden.

Absolutely!!🎶👍
Bruce vocally is great. That is why i got the debut vinyl signed as it's Iron Maiden but obviously Bruce joined later. Iron Maiden kick ass! 😊😉👍🏼

At the end of the song the instrumental of the evil that men do got stuck in my head lol
Great memories from 1988. This was their radio song that got “some” play.
Guys they released a new album on September 3rd. It's a Masterpiece.
Somewhere In Time is the best album
The new released album yesterday#uptheIrons
Again guys Infinite dreams, it's epic and it also has a little experimental synth (off the same album as this tune, it's widely regarded as an absolute anthem yet no one reacts to it🤷♂️.

Dad was listening to the Who albums, 24/7. That's what he was doing in his early years.
Totally love the old maiden, but piece of mind, number of the best, somewhere in time and seventh son is a great run of albums
If you listen to the rest of this album you will get a feast of guitar work
Love the charge of the guitar right off the bat! Like that little change up followed by that drive again. Maiden has always been madness! Good adrenaline rush for Larry!!! Loved this guys!!
Hi Cheryl! I hope you are doing well. Have a good Weekend.😊
@@lisamorrison2149 Hey Lisa!! You too. Got hay Fever . Yuck!
Wow, you guys better strap in for the entire Seventh Son album 😁
You both really need to listen to seventh son album from start to finish, and maybe do a full reaction of the album over a few weeks, each song is a continuation of the story from the previous one, think it's called a concept album, it's unreal
Why don't you do an Iron Maiden week and get a handful of songs out of the way to show how great they are
That would be awesome
Either Number of the Beast or Piece of Mind would be good full albums to do. Both early albums with Bruce. So good and influential. Thanks for the song.
Love you guys man . It's so cool to relive the magic from the day , that I still love just as much , through you guys . I would suspect it's the same for most ppl here . Thanks my friends , and respect

With Maiden you cant miss,,If you just stick to the singing by Bruce..Powerslave is my fave album,,Listen to the instrumental..Losfer Words
Dad don't kick yourself too much for missing out on Maiden, the '80s were very diverse in music and it was no limit on what direction to go, this decade was perfect, even pop music was enjoyable
Now you guys should check out the title track from this album. Honestly one of the highlights of their career.
You got to do 'Infinite Dreams@ from the same album. Absolute Classic
Check out Hell on Earth from the new album released yesterday!! Amazing track
Brave New World or Piece Of Mind are solid albums for me. Virtual XI I would say is their ‘bad’ album, last one in the Blaze Bailey era.
Nice reaction! i had that poster on my bedroom when i was a kid.. great poster.
That’s awesome! -Ethan

The Flight 666 live version is SOO much better. In fact, as with everything Maiden, live is the way to go.
did you check powerslave?
