As a One Piece fan, this adaptation is like playing a trick on my memories. They change up a lot of things. Like, the part where Arlong and his gang are at Baratie and fighting with Luffy. I have to rewatch the anime to confirm that it didnt happened in the anime and that I dont actually have dementia.
I mean its an Adaptation, if they did things 1:1 whats the point, ya need to change things up, but still remain the spirit of the original show. Which I believe this live action does pretty well.
Not a bad thing. Even the anime changed some scenes from the manga (luffy's introduction and zeff eating his leg). I think it's fine as long as the essence of one piece is retained.
I can hardly fathom the immense effort that must have gone into this project - the meticulous casting of actors, the choice of locations, and every detail crafted to perfection. The actors, in my eyes, appeared to be born for their roles. However, I do have concerns that some viewers may not embrace it fully due to comparisons with the anime. It's essential to recognize that anime and live-action adaptations can't mirror each other precisely because human actors aren't as adaptable as their animated counterparts. In my opinion, we should celebrate these emerging adaptations, as they bring our imaginations to life.
just finished and come to check other people reviews, personally after some time, it diminished the line between an anime and a live action, there were considerable amount of things that need attention, but hell, every single one of the straw hats, one after the other they came alive out of the anime world, I was doubtful about Sanji he nailed it, and Nami *chef kiss* most impressed by her, luffy is like the luffy we know, the cgi almost zero times felt fake or bad, and we all know one piece took like 100 episodes to properly take off, but this was good, real good
They did an incredible job with that fight I love the new things they did like having Nami there to see the the fight, both the action and the emotion was captured perfectly I was actually in tears at the end
The Live action captured Zoro's determination and Mihawk's OVERWHELMING might excellently. I still prefer the anime version, but this was damn near SPOT ON.
I am impressed just by the nature of the series. It is the most silly of any anime in its tropes and the live action captured a ton of what makes it special. How they managed to make this good and fucked up the Cowboy Bebop adaptation I will never understand.
@@kurols6453 in real life, talking with a sword in your mouth is impossible, in the anime its not. in the adaptation, zoro uses the 3rd sword only when he is serious or for his finishing move it seems. Some things are just not possible in a live action, but in a drawing it's VERY possible

@@ApevandalenI think they'll cover the alabasta saga with season two. Skypiea will be in season three, though it's tricky to choose how to split things up. An entire season on Skypiea might be wasted, but then again they can't condense both Skypiea and water seven into one season. If I were them I'd probably do most of the season about Jaya and Skypiea (6 or even 7 episodes), then introduce water seven in the last episode and maybe do a cliffhanger with Robin telling the others she'll never see them again. Then on season 4 they could cover water seven and enies lobby, season 5 thriller bark (again, same problem as Skypiea, maybe not a whole season) and maybe they could make the season a bit longer to fit all of sabaody and have season 6 dedicated to Amazon lily, impel down and marineford. Still, that's probably too condensed considering they've adapted in one season around fifty episodes, so I don't know, I wouldn't want to be in the writers' shoes when deciding how to divide the story up

Its different for sure but its live action. Overall the casting for Zoro and Mihawk were the best, I know the fishmen were mostly due to makeup but the fire spitting fishman was pretty spot on.
Personally, I think the best casting was the actor who play Buggy the Clown. His goofy yet menacing character and obsession with having the spotlight was very well done. The actor who played Mihawk was also great but not in the show long enough. I do feel like they weakened Arlong in the live action and would have rather seen the Kreig fight but I understand why they focused on Arlong. The Kreig fight would have been more challenging to Luffy and more fun though.
They even got the minor characters such as the mayor of the town Buggy attacked and Merry to look exactly like their manga counterparts. Kuro's actor looks like he could pull off playing Auron in a FFX movie if that somehow happened.
This is truly as close as a live adaptation can get to an anime , i was hesitant to watch this at first because of it being on Netflix but it was good surprisingly.
Finally a live action anime, really good and that makes you want to watch it because already in the trailer and in the first episode it attracts attention! Of course there are things I didn't like, but they were the smallest things that didn't disturb that much, you can see that everything was well worked out and, of course, Oda's participation in all of this was essential (I believe). I hope that the second season comes even better and even more worked, that it surpasses the 1st season in everything, that it comes out of the good for the better. 💜🇧🇷
I actually liked some of the changes, for example having Red Leg Zeff having cut off and eaten his foot to survive the island instead of having the foot cut off underwater. Makes it so much darker and deepens the character of Zeff by quite a bit.
actually it wasn't a change, this part is in the Manga hahahaha in the anime he loses his leg to save Sanji's life but in the manga he eats it because he gave all the food to Sanji... the story of the two ends up being even more beautiful and giving more emotion
@@forte609it’s almost like 3 sword style is completely unrealistic and therefore insanely hard to pull of without shitty cgi or limited practical fx 😱😱😱😱
So far this is the best moment in the live action. I don't like how they cut everything in favor of Garp, this was done perfectly. Of course I'd prefer if it was in the midst of Don Krieg's attack.
While the anime would always be the best, the live action still did an amazing job. I cannot wait for s2, when the rest would be introduced. I wonder how they will do Chopper.

3:25 a cena ficou muito boa mas senti falta do sangue, faz parecer mais que o Zoro se danificou com o golpe do Mihawk. Já no Live action Zoro não se danificou ou sentiu tanta dor quanto no anime/mangá.
The music mixing spanish flamenco with japanese... just awesome. The series has it's shortcomings, but you can see they have "heart". Unlike a Marvel movie these days who are just products, the One Piece live action has a "soul" and I appreciate the effort
I'm loving this adaptation. I'm usually really picky about live action anime adaptations, but this one is done really well. They got quite a good amount of people who resemble the characters very effectively. I guess Zoro looks a bit younger than he should, but that's a small thing. Can't wait to see more!
I’ve always loved the fact that zoro uses his friends sword in his mouth. Because essentially he cannot truly wield it, because it’s someone else’s Sword/soul, so that’s why it’s in his mouth. Technically he isn’t using it, but is at the same time. I know there used to be huge taboo to touch another samurai’s sword.

Yup, and you could feel the weight & heaviness behind everything in this scene just like in the anime, Luffy watching with suspense & tension hoping Zoro is okay.
I'm usually not a fan of live action anime, but I'll admit I'm enjoying this one so far. I also love how they added Zoro pledge to Luffy. It's not exactly like the manga, but it's good in its own right.

Know as much about haki as we do now, it is wild to think that even if Zoro had landed a strike, it would not have even bruised Mihawk's haki-coated skin.
TRUEEEE... jeez i never realized how much Zoro was literally f-ed in this scene
To think how far Zorro has come is pretty insane right. All of them in fact.
Zoro gets much stronger but think now that pre-timeskip this fight would have looked the exact same. We're almost 1100 chapters in and Zoro still isn't there yet. He beat a 1.3bill bounty guy but Mihawk is about 3.5bill. I still think Zoro needs another arc before I think he has a chance to actually win after all this time.
yeah cuz oda definitely thought of armament haki back then.
Nah don’t think mihawk was using haki actively, he may have a passive skill but like he said, he’s confident in his own abilities and would never use a cannon to hunt a rabbit
I can’t believe how accurate they got the fights , I would love to see more of the fights like this
Having the creator of the series supervising really helped.
It seems live action want to catch up quickly to the latest episode, have to bulk it up but at the same time watch the budget distribution; actors, sets, the teams, etc... And they did pretty good with the time constraints they decided to put themselves into
They don't want to catch up quickly its just they can't afford 1070+ episodes
@@unknown-cc3zrnot even that they obviously won't have the budget for allat so instead they're cutting what they need to
Even if they could afford to make this series as long as it is, the actors can't handle it. It would take years, and in real world, people age.

As a One Piece fan, this adaptation is like playing a trick on my memories. They change up a lot of things. Like, the part where Arlong and his gang are at Baratie and fighting with Luffy. I have to rewatch the anime to confirm that it didnt happened in the anime and that I dont actually have dementia.
it is supposed to be Don Krieg and his crew that are at Baratie, Arlong and his crew first appear when they visits Nami's village

Honestly it might work for the story. I've never really liked how quickly the straw hats adventures seem to happen in universe. I mean crew went from being total rookies to Yonko level in the span of two years. So saying that more time is passing for the journey I think narratively works.
@thejoestjoe630 They can probably cover the face with make up till thirty to make them young but beyond that we'll probably have digitized faces

Then on season 4 they could cover water seven and enies lobby, season 5 thriller bark (again, same problem as Skypiea, maybe not a whole season) and maybe they could make the season a bit longer to fit all of sabaody and have season 6 dedicated to Amazon lily, impel down and marineford. ugh I cant believe they took out "Got a problem with that pirate king?" that sentence is when zoro's loyalty to luffy became unyielding for me.
He nailed that dying Zoro part frfr
I don’t like how he’s delivering the dialogue in this video clip
Almost 100% of the casting for this show is perfect. Every actor has an uncanny similarity with the anime characters, it's amazing!!🎉🎉❤❤
Mihawk so cool along with Zoro. Great job for making this series live.

Technically he isn’t using it, but is at the same time. I know there used to be huge taboo to touch another samurai’s sword.
