It was his first! Not only that he was given complete control as a young composer to push the soundchip to its absolute limit. I listen to this OST myself at least twice a week heh.

I didnt have a lot of games on the snes and I think this was a close 2nd for me to zelda link to the past. I imagine it probably complimented the rest of the game very well.
To me this soundtrack is absolutely amazing from Death of a Minotaur through Queen Bluegarden. I like a lot of the other stuff too, but I love that block of songs. Death of Minotaur is especially haunting and beautiful.
56:20 City of Ivory is one of my favorites. In this state the game is going harder and more creepy because of the circus and Lacosius. New weapons to level and al lot of impressions in this city and some madness. One of the best SNES games ever made.
Has to be "many years ago", "A boy and his dog" and "Staff roll" for me.. I'm a sucker for those kind of tunes though I don't know what that kind of music is called or how to find more of it.. Masterpiece. Half of the interest of this game is in its sound design, top 3 of the snes at least. It is also my childhood's favorite game, I was so in it at the time, all with that beautiful guide of course.. I always preferred it to its predecessor, because of its ambient.
Gothica has the best tracks in my opinion. My favorites are puppet show and staff roll, but honestly there are so many other great tracks so that I can't decide for sure.
Just finished a summer of 16 bit RPGs. I completed Secret of Mana, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore. I gotta say.. I'm really glad I played S of E, but my God this game is so cryptic and tedious. Chrono Trigger was downright easy compared to it imo. The ingredients system is creative, but the amount of grinding it takes to level up spells kind of takes a little fun out of the experience. Everyone should give this one a try, but it is super polarizing for good reasons.
Maybe now that Nintendo showed that they never forgot about Super Mario RPG and did a remake of it, maybe, JUST MAYBE, there will be a remake of this masterpiece soon!
@@COIFISHGAMING Halls of Collosia might be one of my favorite video game tracks of all time. I recently completed my PhD in Classics and I'd attribute some of my interest in the field to this game (and its soundtrack). Thank you so much for upping this!
The music is nostalgic....however, i am reminded of how DIFFICULT this game was. It took me forever to get to the pyramids. Back then I had to rent the game...so it wa frustrating how I had to rent it so often to get barely anywhere lol. Loved the game still for some reason haha

Thank you for uploading this. That final battle with carltron is 👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥
One of the best games of all time. I think wasnt bery popular at the time, but the OTS is one of the greates ever.
Masterpiece. Half of the interest of this game is in its sound design, top 3 of the snes at least.
It is also my childhood's favorite game, I was so in it at the time, all with that beautiful guide of course.. I always preferred it to its predecessor, because of its ambient.
There has never been another game like it. It really was so unique and relatively unheard of at the time!
Way to underrated that pearl here
Thy honor shal not be forgotten
Gothica has the best tracks in my opinion. My favorites are puppet show and staff roll, but honestly there are so many other great tracks so that I can't decide for sure.
I am always amazed on how many people missed out on this gem. The 2 player version is sweet too.
Gothica is amazing.
Absolutely, Gothica has all my favouroites!
City of Ivory 56:20 will always be my favorite.
Such a great track I love it as well!
Love the presentation
Thanks!
Pirates of Crustacia 33:37
City of Ebony 1:12:50
these are my favorits. the soundtracks overall are very darkish and creppy
City Of Ebony is super emotional
Thank you omg
Such an underrated game. The soundtrack is half the experience!
YEEEESSSSSSSS
GRACIAS
Mon jeu préféré incroyable bande son qui me hante encore ❤️
I was today years old when i learned
Secret of Evermore and Skyrim
Have the same composer
And the firsts Guild Wars
Thanks for the member berries 🍇
One of the best SNES games.
Without a doubt!
One of the best rpgs on snes
Easily
38:14 Shopkeepers is a tremendous homage to Barrios
This game never got the credit it deserved. So underrated I love this game
Those that know adore it. Best part is because people do not know or care about it, it is still cheap to buy lol
What? lol This game was NEVER underrated! It's one of the top RPGs of all time!
High in the sky is my absolute favorite
Solid choice! Thanks for listening,
I remember buying this thinking it was a Japanese game and it wasn't, still a classic
Amazing for a SNES game
Absolutely! It is one of my favorites ever
Quite possibly my favorite Hatsune Miku composition
What?
did the composer do something bad…?
This is missing one vital piece of music and that's the short theme that plays before going down the waterfall north of Horace's Camp!
I noticed that after I put it all together lol
Brought to you by the same composer who made the soundtrack for every single Elder Scrolls game.
Soule started composing for the series upon Morrowind.
@@heyguysinternet You're right. I stand corrected.
Great synopsis of the game. Its the reason I struggle to go back through it now! However the 2 player Rom Hack is gold
Maybe now that Nintendo showed that they never forgot about Super Mario RPG and did a remake of it, maybe, JUST MAYBE, there will be a remake of this masterpiece soon!
I expect we will see alot more retro remakes! This one however I am unsure! I hope though.
oh yeah, very deltarune. toby wasn’t lying when he said deltarune’s music was inspired by this!
HD-2D Remake PLEASE
My favorite track is Hall of Collosia! The best!
One of the best songs on the Super Nintendo cheers.
I have 2 copies of it just in case one breaks lol
@@COIFISHGAMING Grab a few CRTs and SNES's while youre at it!!
@@crazyjose111 haha literally have those as well ;)
I remember beating this game many years ago. The ending was such a letdown.
Weakest part of the game is the ending
@@COIFISHGAMING "Carltron was the bad guy all along! Go stop him from destroying Evermore!"
*Beats Carltron*
"Good job, you saved Evermore! Now go back to your world."
😐
Disturbing box art, however the OST is fire
Not as disturbing as Tecmo Secret of the Stars!
I find the soundtrack unsettling TBH 😅 cool and all, but seriously, I don't feel relaxed when listening to it.
It has that sense of melancholy and dread for sure. With mysterious notes that really feel atmospheric
Hall of Collosia :O omg
Literal perfection, people will never understand how ground breaking SOE was unless they played it back when it released
Talented beyond comprehension.
Equivalent of making a masterpiece with Crayons in the dark
Yeah 100% very very well said
