"Gapped Core is generally used in shunt reactor - constructed from Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Silicon Steel sheet to reduce hysteresis losses. The sheets are laminated to reduce eddy current losses. Gaps are intentionally provided in the construction by placing spacers of high modulus of electricity between the packets of laminations. Normally the gaps are maintained radially. The laminations are placed in each packet in longitudinal directions. Normally, 5 limb 3 phase structure of core is used. It is shell type construction. The yokes and side limbs are not gapped but the three inner limbs for individual phase is constructed with radial gaps as shown. There is nothing special about winding of a reactor. This is mainly made of copper conductors. The conductors are paper insulated. Insulated spacers are provided between turns to maintain the path for oil circulation. This arrangement helps for efficient cooling of the winding. Normally a shunt reactor deals with low current that is why ONAN (Oil Natural Air Natural) cooling is sufficient for shunt reactor even for extra high voltage ratings. The radiator bank is connected with main tank to facilitate faster cooling." I understand all the words,,,,
Interesting video. I understand the original M20 motorway bridge over the River Medway was constructed to above normal motorway specs to allow the reactors for Dungeness Nuclear Power Station to be transported there. This bridge was also critical in the cold war for transporting British and American tanks to Dover and the continent if the 3rd World War had started in Germany. It was certainly on the Soviet bomber target list. There was a Thunderbirds episode based here when the bridge was converted into the Allington Suspension Bridge and a space rocket fell into the river when the bridge collapsed. Meanwhile FAB1 shot up the nearby Forstall Road Industrial Estate to create a diversion.

The main issue is that the electro-magnetic field from the substation / pylons affects the operation of the drone compass and can confuse it. There are many factors that affect it though such as the type of drone, load on the Grid etc.
TBH This is the most interesting video you have done since your NB case. The conversation with road traffic officer was really good and informative. Still dont know why the reactor is such a big deal though?
It's a transformer not a reactor lol they are carried all over public roads openly. Utter waste of police use. Trying to educate someone on laws they obviously don't know 100%.

Electric reactor spotter hobbyist, that's a new one 😂😂 Thinking of maybe getting one of those Minis now, like the copper said, there's money to be made in the private sector
Cannot understand all the hassle, it is a "Shunt Reactor" NOT a Nuclear Reactor, basically an electric/power conditioner that soothes, adjusts and compensates for long pylon runs etc.
I don't see why you needed to fly over the compound, just stay outside the boundary and everyone is happy. I certainly wouldn't trust an app for legal advice.
Love how he said he's just having a friendly conversation with you and then proceeds to try and memorise the drone ID number, asks you questions about height restrictions etc, making out he doesn't know the answers and then proceeds to tell you all there is to know about your drone. 😂
He was supposed to be the drone expert as well. The first traffic officer stated that before he turned up. He only let on at the end that he had drone experience, when he was asking about the magnetic field, etc.
That weight limit isn’t a weight limit on the bridge… it says except for access. There’s every chance that the bridge can take the weight ! IF IT WAS FOR THE BRIDGE it would say 7.5 ton MGW. It would also say “WEEK BRIDGE 7.5t MGW” but that one says “7.5t EXCEPT FOR ACCESS”. That doesn’t mean the infrastructure carnt handle it it just says you are not to do it without good reason. A bridge/tunnel height sign dose not necessarily display the hight of the bridge/tunnel but the restriction placed upto vehicles using that bridge/tunnel.
All I have to say is drone flying requires common sense and understanding that it is a very wildy different method of surveillance and technology. Just because an app says an area isn't prohibited doesn't mean that it isn't. If a site has a sign saying no drone zone then you would reasonably prevent flying into the perimeter. Remember, it isn't just about safety, it is also about privacy and property owner's rights. If someone doesn't want you flying over their propery then you adhere to that. Especially when someone is trying to do their job, don't interrupt them and don't make their job harder than it needs to be.
It's not a 7.5 ton weight limit on the bridge. It's a prohibition of any vehicle over 7.5 tons on that road. Every other urban road in my city carries the same sign.
38:15 Point about the road through a motorway service station. Its not a public road. It's a private road. But it can come under road traffic offences because driving a car over it means the car is going from A to Z. The same as a petrol forecourt - you can drive straight through. So when it comes to stopping a car in such situations you are not parked, even if you turn off the engine and get out of the car as you are still on your journey. In a petrol forecourt the stop is short. In a motorway service station, it can be just as short if popping to the loo, but if you're stopping for a meal, then you could be there for an hour or so. In the first case you are not parked. In the second instance you are parked. But the police can't tell just from the car parking up. Nor can they find out. So they have to assume the car is parked unless they have evidence otherwise. So police can stop and get ID under section 164 of the RTA as you drive to the car park in a service or petrol station. But they can't once you've parked for a meal. But such a nuance of the law is above all constable's heads. And many people. So the police will abuse such a point in law to get their own way. And 99.999% of the time they get away with it.
my god and they wonder why literally everyone despises the police in this country, Why on Earth did all these police Armed, traffic all turn up to this? what a massive waste of money and literally just to hassle people. good job you knew whats what, they were just hoping to hassle a normal person away.. unbelievable

Not sure where the reactor bit comes from , it's a transformer , apologies if that's already been pointed out ...
There is no weight limit on the bridge. The road has a 7.5t limit and on the sign it says except for access so anything that is accessing somewhere in or through the restrictions is allowed no matter what the weight !!
I cannot see it taking. 140 tonne plus.
@@DJEMEDIA I've not got as far as seeing the bridge or the truck carrying the transformer (not reactor) but surely you don't think the whole weight is on one axle, silly billy.
- weight restrictions can be imposed for two different reasons - physical where the infrastructure is weak and the other is "environmental" where it is considered undesirable to have heavy traffic on certain roads.
@@pedantik if it was specific for the bridge the sign would not have except for access underneath the restrictions
@@crazyedits50 - did I mention the bridge ? No, I did not, clearly you did not read my comment properly.
I was simply explaining to people that there are two types/reasons for weight limits - many people are actually unaware of this.
A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing even if it’s presented in a confident manner, it’s still bollox 🤪🏴
My little comment was aimed at the many individuals you meet in these situations who claim to know a little about drones which as I said is usually bollox.
As a proud Welshman & tend to sign off my replies with the flag 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
As a construction worker who gets to work on some pretty cool projects, having a video of some of them would be awesome.
Great video really enjoyed that one and it was nice to see happy polite police officers 👍👍😎😎 hope you have a great holiday dude 👍👍😎😎
The "Driver" at 18 minutes "you might not want to do that" and talking of 20 armed police! He's an escort driver, how come they all turn into James Bond, 😂
“There’s another police unit coming? Yeah yeah, there’s another one coming”, because we have nothing else to do, there’s not much crime about and of course we are always so short of resources. 😂😂😂😂
About time you had a drone, some great footage well done.
Great interaction, I think there are several levels of policeman ranging from Grunts, (bullies, ignorant of the law and dont care) to average police, detectives, (ignorant of day to day policing but interrogation and manipulation practiced in lying and sounding like they care (about winning a conviction) and some like this lot know the laws, try and persuade "compliance" but know enough that (at least on camera) no laws broken, no need to be belligerent or nasty, and generally respect their limits
I thought it said "Royal Shit" on the front of the lorry when it arrived :-D
That was kewl you said you would share photos with the local reporter who came up. Very generous you.
It's cool to see a modern electronic sub-station transformer being delivered, shame ya couldn't get the install. So the crane would be to load and unload the hydraulic gear and load unload the specialist dolly's for moving the tranny.. the smaller dolly will probably be loaded with the hydraulic gear to make it portable within confined spaces that the crane cant operate.
Enjoy your holiday fella
That’s quite near MOD Corsham so that’s probably what the red circle is. It’s supposedly where they keep all their computer stuff and also where the Burlington bunker and war rooms are. A great write up on the urban explorer’s website.
Terrific video DJR..really enjoyed it as usual 😊
wow first guy is an actual normal person, they still exist🥳
More like a transformer .
Half a transformer 👍😃
Good interaction for once. Cops are a credit to the force.
Don't worry, they'll be drummed-out soon enough... 😒
Well what a breath of fresh air, Police Officers who are polite and prepared to have a decent chat also listen and learn. What a change from the usual Ego Bullying Coppers. great video.
Yes it made a change
great material - good find.
Great footage m8 & interesting as well good work DJE 💯👍🏻
cab has 14 tyres on, trailer has 40 I counted, Allelys are based in Redditch Worcestershire
I think that you meant to say transformer. This is not a nuclear reactor!
They're called reactors, but they're effectively just big coils of wire inside - they're used to restrict fault current on the network using magnetic impedance. Usually, the bigger the fault, the higher the current flowing, but with these on the network, as the load rises, so does the push-back to prevent it from flowing, they automatically and transparently (to the network) prevent dangerous fault currents. thanks to @colinwilson210 for that comment.
The radiator bank is connected with main tank to facilitate faster cooling."
I understand all the words,,,,
That corner no problem for a decent trucker like me 😂
Interesting video.
When they say F.A.B on thunderbirds what does it mean?
Bozo's always telling people what they can & can't do, when they don't actually know themselves.
@42:20 "My Drone knowledge is not huge"
@44:35 "We're not here to criminalise, more Educate" Who's educating who 🤔
Morning DJE Media, what an interesting Audit with loads learnt so please keep them coming GL&HF coming from Dulwich London England(✌peace✌)
No way bro wtf that’s where I grew up, I’m there atm I wish I went to wait for it!!! Haha
The only thing i would worry about is the radio frequency crossing if they use wireless controllers for their winches.
The government has laws wrt frequency use. If there’s a problem it’s the winch hardware fault.
The main issue is that the electro-magnetic field from the substation / pylons affects the operation of the drone compass and can confuse it. There are many factors that affect it though such as the type of drone, load on the Grid etc.
Bluetooth used select frequencies decided at the time of connection.
@@three-phase562 You know more about electrical grid than drones. Drone does not rely solely on compass. There are backups.
Well done audit and police ..
Cheers
Plod being honest ,
Always a first time !
TBH This is the most interesting video you have done since your NB case. The conversation with road traffic officer was really good and informative. Still dont know why the reactor is such a big deal though?
Thanks.. it was pretty cool-!
It's a transformer not a reactor lol they are carried all over public roads openly. Utter waste of police use.
Trying to educate someone on laws they obviously don't know 100%.
Thanking you keep ing us informed
How did he know? His anonymous shady friends in that darknet chatgroup told him. I wonder what they would say to that answer?
What on earth are you talking about haha
Police respectful- and not on a power bender, if all police were like this would be so much easier! Ps CAA have just published a new consultation on adjustments to drone rules… worth checking out , get a class 2 allows even more freedom ;)
Interesting, good video, loving the Eye in the Sky.
Electric reactor spotter hobbyist, that's a new one 😂😂 Thinking of maybe getting one of those Minis now, like the copper said, there's money to be made in the private sector
I wonder if the sticker puts the drone over 250g. If the dgi is 249g then the sticker will probably just put it over
Even though they are marked 249g these mini drones usually weigh less coming in at around 242-243g, at least the DJI Mini 2 does.
Carbon Fibre sticker, all good ☺
They were top police.
Good job all parties.
I think the tall busy was ok tbh , he knew the score 💯
this was a good one buddy....love your vlogs.
Fascinating!
The beanstalk was a legend 👍
Thank you
That weight limit isn’t a weight limit on the bridge… it says except for access.
I never knew Harry Maguire was in the force, Fair play.
Especially when someone is trying to do their job, don't interrupt them and don't make their job harder than it needs to be.
always remember..the polic are never your friend!!!
Until u need one..remember that
It's not a 7.5 ton weight limit on the bridge. It's a prohibition of any vehicle over 7.5 tons on that road. Every other urban road in my city carries the same sign.
Saying "In the middle of nowhere" while showing towns all around is hilarious!
He got your number from drone what do you think he was doing in back of car
Course he did lol
Wow - well done dj - very good an interesting vid 👏 👍
What a nice guy makes a change 😂
The drone camera is mightier than the reactor which is literally just a large kettle for boiling water
I am sure it says on the front ROYAL SHxIT ? We do not run on that ?
Confused as to why a shunt reactor delivery is such an event 🤣
You better watch oot dje's aboot ❤😂
I had to look twice at the sign on the side of the reactor. Kept reading Royal S**t !! 😃
my god and they wonder why literally everyone despises the police in this country, Why on Earth did all these police Armed, traffic all turn up to this? what a massive waste of money and literally just to hassle people. good job you knew whats what, they were just hoping to hassle a normal person away.. unbelievable
