where to start installing wall tile in a shower

I need to make a handicap shower with grab bars, would i be better off using 3/4 plywood behind the kerdi board or other?

Now. Use 2 x 8"s in between the studs where you plan to put the grab bars. Make sense?

5:48 I use a ledger board too, works great, I use a small piece of Sheetrock so I can use tiny picture nails so it end ups being a small hole puncture even tho you seal it the best you can when done
