He finally had enough and vacated. He got a nice 2BHK for 12k in mysore road now, close to metro station. It is even more spacious. He commutes to ITPL now via metro, takes 1:30 hours , but worth it.
17k is expensive for you?? Go to mumbai and delhi and check the rent of similar houses over there.. u have to pay 3 times more rent.. rent always depends on the location of the house in every city.. you will find cheaper Houses in different locations in Bangalore..

This is so good and reasonable. We lived in maitri layout near hope farm. 16k for 1bhk 500sqft. One small living area a tiny kitchen a decent bedroom and bathroom and a tiny balcony. But yes we had lift and power supply. We have now shifted to a little bigger 1bhk flat with a decent living room and kitchen. It is in the same area and the rent is 25k. So 17k with this much space+two bathrooms+ terrace+ Bangalore is a steal deal

We also rented one house in Bangalore, it had very bad looking toilet was on 3 rd floor and rent was 18K this is much better and you are getting balcony which is super big. Second house was 1 bhk and ground floor and rent was 30K it was fully furnished.
In my area madiwala for small 1bhk they r charging q5 k to 20k...this is far better as its spacious and rooms an kitchen is big.... problem is 4th floor without lift.
