If the AF1 are made from a leatherette then I wonder, would you need to go through this process? you could potentially just use a steamer and apply heat to the creases push the socks in tighter to give a pull on the crease then shower the material with cool water to fast contract. Not sure if this would ultimately crack the material but it might help with more stubborn creases
