Elvis was at his best when he was proving just "who he really was" like any great artist, he needed to be challenged. Amazing vocals being demonstrated here.
Elvisistheman, you MUST be a true Elvis fan to have found/discovered this. Spectacular ear. This is nothing....NO-thing less than incredible singing from Elvis (and in his so called 'later years'....just proving to me that, as he stated in his 1972 New York press conference, his voice and band actually IMPROVED over time....which is inconceivably wild). It was so great to hear him work the situation to a fantastic end. I love his 1970 dinner show version of "Bridge" the best. It brings tears I'm ashamed to say whenever I see it and he looks fantastic and so emotive. My favorite was his "Loving Feeling" improv, where he added at "Baby, baby, I'd get down on my knees for you..."THEN he asserts, "If this suit wasn't too tight...". He added that funny quip so beautifully into the verse, that it sounded great and many recordings keep it in. @ElvisistheMan_ I just heard "Danny Boy" for the first time a few days ago from his album, "Live From EP Boulevard in Memphis, Tennessee". I think this version is absolutely the best I have EVER heard in my life. Of course, the song is known by everybody in its different forms, and so I was at first passing by Elvis' version and not giving it a try. Boy, am I glad I played it. It is a masterpiece by far. Elvis' "Danny Boy" is deeply touching and a gift from Elvis that everybody should experience.

Great upload David! Your spot on with Elvis’s reprise versions. “Hurt” was always a great one as was “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” if you’ve ever heard the ones from TTWII. He also did “Let Me Be There” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You”. However, my favorite was always “Bridge” as Elvis called it. My favorite reprise of “Bridge” was the ‘71 version in Boston! Between his vocals and Kathy’s as well as the vocal encouragement you could audibly hear from Estelle Brown and the amazing vocalizing from the rest of the Sweet Inspirations; it was just spell binding. “Bridge” and I’d have to add “How Great Thou Art”, now that I think about it, were just solid Elvis gold, IMO. Thanks so much for this edition.

That incident forgetting the lyrics made remember one of my favorite "embarrassing but cute" Elvis moments. Elvis is on The Ed Sullivan Show on October 28, 1956, performing "Love Me" when he forgets the lyrics, gets desperate, since he's on TV, so he literally asks for help but then he manage to find his way by his own quickly, just like in this performance you shared. Here's the footage: The Ed Sullivan Show "Love Me" (1:17): ua-cam.com/video/PkK7RYm-99o/v-deo.html - I imagine how Elvis was after this performance. That's the kind of silly mistake you punish yourself mentally for when it's time to go have some sleep, so you keep rewinding it obsessively in your head. 😂 Some people are mean and judge Elvis for forgetting the lyrics, specially on the late concerts of his career, but it's fair... Could happen to anyone anytime. It did even at the beginning of his career. It's easy to understand he was focusing on the physical aspect of the performance and the lyrics vanished off his mind for a moment, only human.

NO ONE else can do that, in my opinion. Greatest entertainer/singer of all time. ♥️
Oh, I forgot to give my opinion on him messing up the song…Maybe he was so into singing the song that he just failed to end it where it should have ended it, and when he realized it he just put more into it!!!

Elvis did mess up thigns sometimes. Just like all of us. I remember seeing a clip of his pres conference in Germany from October 1958, just when he came there. @@tacticalix In my point of view , the so bad quality of the bootleg soundtrack - so far from those of 2023 - ruin the Elvis's performance , but , even with this , the musical notes reached by his warm voice give a beauty comparable to an old master painting spoilt by the time ; his talent pierces his own ruin . Wow. Listen to Kathy Westmoreland too!
Nothing to forgive,,just a guy doing his thing😅
3:50 I have never ever seen this Elvis's outfit, and it seems to be in the early 70's
and his outifit got very flomboyant from 72 to 77. isn'it?
Yeah pretty basic and simple at this time still.
Interesting thank you
Perfection mistake or not he was and is the best ever
PLEASE , I really so much would like to know when Elvis gave this incredible version of " Like a bridge over trouble " : I'm stuck !
I'm floored at this performance. Just doesn't make sense how great he was.

In my point of view , the so bad quality of the bootleg soundtrack - so far from those of 2023 - ruin the Elvis's performance , but , even with this , the musical notes reached by his warm voice give a beauty comparable to an old master painting spoilt by the time ; his talent pierces his own ruin . Does Facebook delete pages of actual impersonators too though?
Haha guess not
Wow..that was greatness... And what a foolish decision to block your FB page ..I will join the new one again. Keep up the great work.
Thanks man!
Sounds like you had the same issue I did.. someone reported me saying I wasn't Elvis Nelson in Cincy. Facebook kicked me off for 2 yrs.. they out of the blue allowed me back on. I didn't miss it.. but it helps with staying in touch with friends out of state.. nice report on the facts you have..
It was someone that reported you?
Wow, yes got a bit caught up in the moment yet; this only made the song better...
