Update! '21 Mazda 3 Hatch 2.5L Turbo + Magnaflow A-B Exhaust + CS 63.5mm MP + BMS Stage 2 intake: • 2021 Mazda 3 gen 4 Hat...
Newly installed Magnaflow Exhaust for the 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo hatchback Rev'd to 4500 RPM at max. A low tone overall - Use good speakers or a subwoofer to hear it precisely. These cars don't rev high during driving on stock tune, so this is rev'd high enough to get a good idea of the sound profile.
There is no drone at highway speeds, and barely noticeable once warmed up at idle. Taking off from stop, you hear a pleasant low pitch that is close to a rumble. The exhaust should open up over the next few thousand miles, and I will post a follow-up video then.
UPDATE: 30 mile drive test after installation. I ended up getting better overall gas mileage than normal. All stats pulled directly from the vehicle fuel monitor.
29.4 miles driven. 45 minutes total drive time. 90% highway / 10% street, with some stop-and-go on the highway.
28.8 mpg for the trip. Normal avg 25.5 mpg. - Авто та транспорт
Nice! I grabbed the axleback for my 2019 model a month back, sounds amazing. The turbo really improves the sound. I just ordered the midpipe, can't wait for the sound!!
Turbo never improves engine sound

It has aNice tone to it
i have this exact car and was debating on this exhaust system will definite follow what happens
I have the same car, had a custom fabbed exhaust welded and installed for 650$ CAD, and it sounds more aggressive than the magnaflow, and has virtually no drone
Mind sharing the name of the shop?
nothing beats hot rod scotts, twice as good as this when they did my exhaust and richer deeper growlier and louder tones
just listened to the HKS exhaust and it was on a NA 3 and this still sounds better. Im not looking for Lawnmower sound like i find the Corksport 2.5 sounds like. Like this Deep Noise Nothing stupid loud. Just waiting for corksport to release the Larger exhaust to see if it sounds any different. If not, getting Magnaflow for sure.
Nice bubbles
I've installed a takeda axle-back on my 16 Mazda 3 and it sounds way more aggressive compared to Magnaflow. And it is cheaper.
Wow that is a great improvement in gas millage! I wonder if an intake will improve the mogs even more.
what was the MPG improvement ?
@@markroadking Look at the description
Do you ever think about removing the mid muffler (resonator) ? Magnaflow muffler should provide enough
a better setup if you want quiet but noticeable is factory muffler corksport midpipe
Do you still have the stock muffler and I’m wondering if you want to sell it
Sounds super quiet
Not all cars have to sound like a v8
@@hernanelregio8602 yeah but 1k for an axle back that sounds like this? Hell no lol
You can get the cork sport cat back for the price of this axel back.
@@marcov9808 you're right in that
Everything else sounds ricey magna flow the best
How many decibel it does un exterior and interior please?
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh‼️
Any plans of deleting the resonator.
What's the Magnaflow part number?
Did you buy at russ darrow mazda ?
It's really quiet compared to my borla exhaust. Borla makes a way better sounding exhaust with no drone.
👊🤠
I have a dumb question. I have the exact same car except right above the turbo decal on the back passenger side, there is a skyactive g or something like that right above it. is there a difference? did you take yours off? I'm up in eau claire and the car came from a dealer in minneapolis so i can't imagine that its some regional thing as im not that far from the dealer on the license plate thing.
All new Mazdas have sky active g. He probably de-badged it
... Or you got the 122 hp version ^^
Off topic but boss man got one of these cars and hates the way there's no turbo noise have they came up with a bov. ?
There is not a BOV, there's a recirculating BPV that pushes that air back to the intake. If you replace the intake, you'll hear ALL of the turbo noises, including spooling and psh'ing when letting off the accel. In fact, you can simply remove the bottom plastic of the stock airbox, secure the filter to the top airbox using a bungee cord, and you'll hear all the noises. That stock box really silences all of the noises.
I don’t think that is made for the turbo model. I was going to buy it as well but I saw someone else who bought it removed it because it was killing their mpgs.
Magnaflow lists this as compatible with the Turbo variant here: www.magnaflow.com/products/19459-performance-exhaust-magnaflow-mazda-3-street-series-axle-back-performance-exhaust-system
It's a great question, and one I will try to go answer for us right now. I'm going to take a test 40 mile drive and report the numbers. This will include mostly highway driving BTW. Prior to the new exhaust, I was averaging 25.5 MPG.
@@Mazda_Chief that sounds about right, I think when they say compatible they mean it bolts on and fits, I do think it messes with the back pressure on the turbo model. I am excited to see your results, in MD from Pasadena to Timonium I got about 32 and 34 mpg highway. I was cruising and wasn’t spirited driving that much.
@@panthersfan3168 I finished the drive. I ended up getting better overall gas mileage. All stats pulled directly from the vehicle fuel monitor.

I've not noticed any difference in MPG overall and I've had the exhaust on for a couple thousand miles now. As for the fitment, I measured myself and the piping is the same size. The only downside of this on the turbo is that a turbo itself acts like a muffler so the MF exhaust is pretty quiet for an aftermarket kit.
@@panthersfan3168 fokingking removed it because his foot got heavier when he heard the growling. He even admitted it, and I don't blame him. Don't worry about MPGs. It's all about those SPGs. ;)
Did you black out decals on your own, if so how?? Or where did you buy
Probably plastidipped them
It's the Carbon Edition exclusive color and blacked out trims and wheels
Hey what's happening nice Mazda hatchback turbo I've purchase a Hyundai veloster turbo r spec I've changed out the Mufflers and exhaust tips it's loud enough for me and every time I drive by cars the alarm goes off my Mufflers it's a magna flow but mine it's shaped like a Chinese eggs roll hopefully you can asked them for the tube Mufflers 👋👍🙂♥️🚘
Does it come manual transmission???
Only Auto
Virtually no difference, have the takeda and its just as quiet
THATS LOUD? 🤣 MY MAZDA 3 SPORT 2.0 L IS LOUDAAAAAA 😆😆😆😆
Louder isn't better, that's how you end up with a clapped out piece of shit that makes all your neighbors hate you.
So disappointed. Sounds like nothinh. Vacuum cleaner at most
Magnaflow always makes everything sound like shit
@@Wonderlaust ive heard magnaflow on few bmw only. And i agree w you. Is it cheap at least?
Sounds like an expensive vacuum cleaner 😆
😂😂
A CLASSY one ~
Do you still have this installed? Any mpgs changes? Another post said they got worse mpgs 🫤
Sounds like NA engine, like it.
