    Thank you so much for this! I read that you are from metairie - so am I!!! I went to Ulta in elmwood looking for a new foundation for my acne prone skin, and bought both the foundation and the brush. I LOVE this product, but wasn't 100% sure how to apply, so I really appreciate you sharing.

    Hi Stephanie! I just found your channel, and I really appreciate your thorough reviews on all these foundations! I also like that you include your shades in multiple different foundations in the description for every one of your videos. You look beautiful in this foundation by the way! We're the same shade in so many foundations so I will definitely be checking in with your channel whenever a new makeup product comes out! :)

    Stephanie Marie! I am in LOVE with this foundation. I am over 50 + mature and live in a hot (has been triple digits for a few weeks!) and sometimes HUMID area too and this HELD UP! I just used the BB sponge and forgot to use a setting powder (NEED to get a different one that is light and doesn't settle and crease) but it was NO problem. I just touched up my chin and sides of nose, the sweating left it damp there and left my forehead with damp bangs, but this foundation STILL looked great. In fact it made my skin look even YOUNGER and did a nice job covering uneven areas, didn't crease or settle and after blotting the dampness and a touch of finishing powder lightly just in those two areas ONLY ONCE, it still looked good at the end of the day. I LOVE that it is Bareminerals and it improves skin as you wear it also. I always watch to see how you like things before I purchase because we have the same situations (even the under eye thing, but I am older) with the climate and oily skin! So USUALLY if it does well with you, I end up loving it. Only one product I can't wear that you can is the Double wear. Tried 3 different shades and each oxidized so badly it looked like I coated my face with Pumpkin pie! But Thanks for the video! LOVE this stuff. NOW if I can just find a good primer, maybe a DUPE for the Hourglass (?), I would love something that smoothed pores, stayed matte and stopped oil! Will definitely check out your setting powder video for one that is light weight and doesn't crease!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 років тому

      I replied to your primer comment but if you're looking for something similar to the Hourglass but less expensive (I'm convinced there's no TRUE dupe), try NYX Angel Veil and Rimmel Stay Matte. Grab both of those and see which you like better. Again, don't use any more than a pea sized amount for the whole face and massage it in lightly like it's moisturizer. Let it sink in for about a minute or two before you go in with your foundation. I'm glad you like the Bare Minerals! Maybe with a primer, the ELDW will work too! Good luck!

    I love this foundation and it looks great on you! I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the info on the brush! This lasted all through my work day which is 12.5 hrs. I have dry skin and had no issues with it settling or looking cakey. I got the shade 10 and I wear the neutral shade in their Complexion Rescue and Nude in LM tinted moisturizer. I also have a lot of redness in my skin. Hope this helps with the colors.

    I got this Sunday and returned it yesterday. I'm 44 with oily skin and sun spot damage. It didn't last all day on me. I was so excited about it. I tried it on in store and noticed it didn't seem to be full coverage. Bought it to try it anyway and it didn't last, and definitely wasn't full coverage. Even after several layers.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 років тому

      Oh no Renee! Yes, I agree it's not full coverage...medium or medium to full as I talked about. But it lasts on me well. It may have to do with what we put on our faces in the morning and primers also. :)

    I tried it and I felt like it really emphasized the pores in the middle of my face, but I definitely think it's super long wearing! I'd like to see a review on the YSL All Hours foundation, very curious about that!

  • @adinal1958

    I tried a sample of this, and my experience was similar. I thought it was very light-weight, wore beautifully, and provided a lot of coverage with very little product applied. I did find, though, that it could be drying if I didn't moisturize enough. I usually use a light moisturizer or even a mattifying one during summer, and I had to break out my heavier-duty moisturizer to wear under this foundation or else my face felt uncomfortably dry and tight during the day. I would say my skin type is normal, but I notice it's getting dryer the older I get. Thanks for this video. I was really curious to see what other peoples' experiences were with this foundation.

    No way did I think you were not in your later 20's or early 30's. You look great. I am 61. Just bought this. Not a makeup person normally. Can't wear eye makeup. It always burns and makes my eyes water. I have very few eyelashes or brows (hair, too) due to going through chemo twice. (But still here and making the most of my life.) Thought your shade of all your makeup was lovely. I am, and always have been, fair skinned. Sandlewood was too dark for me.

    What I am finding is now I get better coverage from lighter coverage foundation. I'm 44, with oily skin. My skin wasn't showing any age, but since my husband died, raising 5 kids on my own, have noticed I am now looking very worn and tired, thus older. I used to always wear medium to full coverage, but noticed past few years, it started looking horrible after a few hours with every brand. I've found when I go very light coverage, even to point of tinted moisturizer, I can get better coverage if applied right which stays all day.

      BA BF That kind of happened to me but I think the biggest thing was I changed up my skin care so now I can use lighter coverage foundations but with oily skin I definitely feel on me the foundations with the thinner consistency and maybe not so heavy of coverage but still pigmented works so much better because you don't get cake face and you're right it doesn't drag your face down and makes you look older so I agree with you there I noticed the same thing about myself! That's why I tend to go for foundations or BB creams that are thinner like I absolutely cannot wear Estee Lauder Double Wear I have to wear Double Wear Light! I have recently discovered that dr. Jart Dis-a-pore BB cream is to the heavens the most awesome BB that I have tried yet it covers every little bit of my pores and makes my texture look so smooth and it lasts all day long! I even had a couple really long days where I had it on for 2 days I know Shameless but my Skin still looked great and I never broke out and I am prone to broke breakouts! Very sorry to hear about your husband I was a widow at 24 years old I'm 38 now it was hard for my kids but they're the ones that definitely pull you through! Take care!

    Great review! I appreciate how thorough you are when reviewing foundation. How does this product compare to the Shiseido Syncro Skin in finish (skinlike/natural appearance), and lasting power? Did it settle into fine lines at all? I love the Syncro Skin, but I have to mix shades to match my skin and the Bare Minefals has more options. Thank you!!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 років тому +1

      I feel like Synchro Skin looks more like skin. This is definitely a more "made up" looking foundation yet it still doesn't look heavy or overdone. I don't know if that makes sense? It's polished yet not cakey. Synchro Skin doesn't look *completely* like skin but almost like your skin...not in BB Cream territory though. On a daily basis, I wear foundations more like Synchro Skin. When I have special meetings or EXTRA long days or events, I pull out the BarePro type finishes. BarePro is one of the longest lasting foundations I've tried so it wins there. No settling. I won't rave about a foundation if it settles! :) It's worth getting a sample.

    • @CherylPA
      @CherylPA 7 років тому

      Thank you. This is very helpful! I generally use a cc cream (it cosmetics). However, that is a little too much for my skin in the summer and breaks me out if I wear it more than a few days in a row. I alternate in with the Smashbox 15 hour, Too Faced born this way, and Syncro skin, depending on how long I need it to last and how much tan I have. I definitely like a medium coverage, lightweight, long-lasting, natural looking foundation. I will definitely take your suggestion and pick up a sample of the bareMinerals! Thanks again!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 років тому +1

      +Cheryl PA2016 It may be more coverage than you want in the summer or for daytime. What about a lighter BB/CC cream or foundation in general? Have you tried ELDW Light? It's fantastic.

    Do you recommend Bare Minerals Original (loose powder) or BarePro liquid for long wearing and for oily skin with huge pores? I’m torn on which to get!! I used to use the Original back in my 20s and early to mid 30s and switched to Revlon Colorstay but feeling like it’s been too heavy. And accentuated pores big time! Im convinced tretinoin is causing bigger pores.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  6 років тому +1

      Definitely the liquid. It takes less time to apply and wears forever! Buffing in mineral foundation takes longer than applying liquid most times. Oh and I prefer the BM Matte version to the original on my combo/oily skin. So if you're going with a mineral foundation, you may want to look at that.

    I prefer damp sponge for long wear/ fuller coverage foundations myself. Idk if it's the extra moisture in the sponge that blends it better or if it sheers it out slightly, but it usually looks less dry & cakey with sponge application than a brush.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 років тому

      Yep! I said that same thing in the video about sponges. That's what I normally use too. I like a sponge with this...it sheers it out a little. The brush is quicker and this foundation doesn't look cakey with a brush which is nice! :)

    • @yensid4294
      @yensid4294 7 років тому +1

      Stephanie Marie I agree, using a brush is much faster & convenient especially if your make up area isn't in your bathroom & wetting a sponge requires a trip to another room with a sink. Sometimes I start with a brush & then go over it with a sponge I've spritzed with primer water or dewy setting spray if I don't like the way it looks. It's all experimentation with application, tools, primers until I finally admit "maybe this foundation just doesn't work for me" lol. When you get in your 50s & your skin changes you will understand. sigh.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 років тому

      +yensid GIrl, I'm with you! A sponge is my tool of choice too! This is the first time I've truly liked a brush for a medium to full foundation in forever! I was shocked myself! I think it's specific to this foundation! Because normally I also dislike brush application bc it emphasizes all bad things! 👍🏼😘

      That's the thing...it's a GREAT deal but shade matching can go very wrong with it. I would have ordered a completely different shade if I'd ordered online. Silk 14 (which is supposedly "cool") would have worked better for me than Sandstone 16 (which is the warm shade). I wouldn't have even glanced at Silk if ordering online but IRL, it's very yellow. Actually all those shades are "medium". I usually get the "light to medium" shades which were too light for me with this foundation line. So I'd have been WAY off!

    • @StillPooh62
      @StillPooh62 7 років тому +1

      I don't know if it's the lighting or what, but I feel like the shade you're wearing is too yellow for you. I couldn't find a match at all in this foundation. The only shade with a true cool undertone was Fair 01, which was too light. All the others, regardless of description, were hella yellow. The SA at BareMinerals swore Dawn 02 matched me, and I walked out looking like an Oompa Loompa when it oxidized minutes later. 😱

    • @StephanieMarie

      If you have a BM store near you go in for a shade match or to Sephora or Ulta and then order. I think if you call BM directly them may also be able to guide you to a match over the phone. I love this foundation and I have never said that about any I've used before. I also have been getting a lot of compliments.

    What powder do you recommend to touch up during the day? I have oily skin.

      I've been loving Fenty lately. Shiseido is really nice. Maybelline Fit Me is nice as well. :)

    Does this have more coverage than the smashbox studio skin 15 hour hydrating foundation? I asked on another video, sorry if the question seems repetitive.

      Hi Victoria! They both give medium to full buildable coverage. The Smashbox doesn't provide as much oil control. 😘

    I love this foundation so much more than my too faced born this way foundation. The one thing is this foundation runs very light in the shades. I got shade 08, then exchanged it for number 13, and it's still too light. I have to go back to ulta to have someone match me with the receipt for a third time trying to pick my shade. :(

      Agreed on the shade selection! I was surprised!

    Don’t use the brush. This foundation is wonderful as long as you moisturize and use a damp beauty blender. My husband was like what did you do to your skin , it’s gorgeous. I like this foundation because you can apply a light layer and build from there. I got mine on Amazon for $26 so it’s something I’m going to wear every day.

    Would you say this shade is equivalent to your ELDW shade rattan??

    Great review! Was in Ulta yesterday and tested this foundation, I am cool toned and did find a Cool Beige...great match for me. The only issue I did find is that it looked really dry on my hand, however you said it takes a bit for that dryness to go away. I've been having issues with my skin being dry lately so it kind of scared me away. It really did look like a beautiful foundation. I think I need a sample...Thanks for the review! xxoo

      I watched Mandy Davis (who has dry skin) talk about loving this foundation as well. But I've also heard a couple of dry skinned people say it was a touch too dry for them. Maybe pick up a sample.

      Hi Ashley. I don't take my foundation under my eyes and I vary my concealers. I don't recall from this far back what I used when testing this foundation. Here are my current favorites: shoplist.us/collections/14025 and here are my shade matches: stephaniemarieblogs.com/2018/08/nc25-concealer/

      Stephanie Marie Exactly why I am asking. haha Do you still like the shade match you made? I'm always the same foundation shades and keep wanting to chose warm but I know you said it is way too yellow

    which one do you think is better for oil control- this or the estee lauder double wear?

    • @StephanieMarie

      They're both good. It's neck and neck.

      thanks for the reply! still having a hard time deciding which one to get. which one would you say is easier to sheer out? like thinner consistency? i prefer a light coverage but i still want the oil controlling aspects of these foundations. thanks for the help
