Do NOT Pre-Order, Fam! And DEF don't pay for 'head start'. Not saying the game won't be a BANGER, I'm looking forward to this, but; we got to stop letting this pricing model be 'ok'. $70 is fine with me if it's 70 hours of Fun, and I'm pretty sure this game will BLAST past that, just please don't pre-order. Wait and see what your TRUSTED Content Creators have to say before you buy!
5 days of early access to a single player game is a joke right? Early access in general is a stupid trend but who cares about playing early when you aren't playing with or competing against others?
The new trailer gives me Dragon Age Veilguard vibes. The first trailer was a dark intriguing world similar to the dark atmosphere of the original DA Trilogy, roughly a year later and the new trailer is colorful action combat to the point you get whiplash if you watch the two trailers back to back. Game length was revealed to be 26 hours with sidequests and just under 40 hours to 100%, this game is massively overpriced. The second trailer you played is NOT indicative of the game, they changed the art direction mid development. So another single player colorful RPG with 5 day early access on a single player game, AAA are getting desperate. Also note XBOX decided to release this game in the middle of Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Monster Hunter Wilds, XBOX sent this game out to die.
Would love it if no1 purchased early access. Would love it more if no1 purchased the game at all because they decided to offer the early access. Fake release dates to capitalize on impatience is gross. Youd figure social media would have made it easier to make examples out of companies that treat their consumers like morons.
I played nearly all games from Obsidian from Kotor 2, Fallout New Vegas to The Outer Worlds. They definitely know how to write good stories but always had some technical issues first (which they could fix). But with more money from Microsoft and now more time I hope Avowed will be their masterpiece.
Wow those facial animations are so rough it would be super immersion breaking if they don't fix them. Also, the colors are so garish and painful on the eyes that it may even make it hard to play the game. This is definitely a wait and see for me and a likely buy on sale if the story and mechanics are good.
Unless you are a content creator, 5 days early access is worthless. You're paying extra to experience a buggier version. The extra skins would have to be *very* good to make that an attractive option. If they're not, I'll just wait for them to get past the first patch or two after launch.
that wasnt a trailer, that was a "look how we can take your money" from what i have experienced with xbox games, if they dont showcase gameplay, its because the gameplay sucks.
5 days is nothing and for me not worth the investment for a single player game. If it was some fun to share with friends, different story. Thanks for your video.
I've always been a fan of Obsidian games (since Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale as Black Isle Studios). If they hadn't sold out to Microsoft, I'd pay whatever they asked for this game... But they did sell out....and just as predicted, they are now engaging in predatory pricing practices. So now I'll be holding off on buying for at least a year to make they aren't going to add even more despicable monetization systems (which I don't want to accidentally support)
@RumblesBettr yeah same, im excited for it cause I like the studios games, but im not dropping that much for a game that's gonna be on gamepass, and especially not gonna pay to play early lol.
AH Off course not People really need to realise that the people who did their fav games 10+ years ago, either where laid off, died or quited the place to work someplace else. Blizz isn't the Blizz that we used to know, Bioware is a joke of what it was. The Only studios i can think off that still somehow has a portion of their old staff are japanese studios...
@@Mugthraka -- I agree with your point but I mentioned it specifically because when I watched the video it still had the Fallout vibe to it. To be honest it was a little upsetting. It didn't look much better than the fighting in Fallout New Vegas. The only positive I could take from it if they were the some of the same people is that the story, decision making, and consequences of choices may be as fun as they were in New Vegas. The fighting in New Vegas needed V.A.T.S. in order to not be too generic. The fighting in this little promo looked like it was from the early 2000s with no new development. So I have good vibes from Obsidian but I hope there is a mix of old blood and new blood so they can have the old direction but some new mechanics.
Paying for early access is sooooo disingenuous. It's artificially holding the game back from your customers. You're actually paying to delay everyone else's access.
It looks really good, would love to play it. But the price is too much, and a 5 days early access with a 20$ increase for a game like this is a very red flag for me.
I'm actually fine with head starts for single player games. I have an issue with them for multiplayer games. Avowed seems quite ethical to me, which is more than I can say for most shit that releases. Like go look at the monetization for Ubisoft games lol.
I love - absolutely love - both of the Pillars of Eternity games. I was psyched when the initial Avowed trailer dropped. But word came out Obsidian was pulling back on game content in Avowed. Now we see "skins" and microtransaction BS, early access shenanigans, etc. I might buy early access for a Larian game because I trust them. No one else, even CDPR, at this point. Right now, if (and I never thought I'd use "if" for a game set in Eora) I ever buy thois game, it will be on Stream sale way, way down the line. Disappointing.
cant wrap my head around why developers make such bad decisions. i can only imagine how much money they spent making this game. because everyone was asking for a first person arpg lol
"Jul 23, 2020 - Avowed may not have a sexy MC or pretty looking NPC's but it will have great diversity writing for this game thanks due to Sweet Baby Inc" - Could tell from the artwork. Hard pass.
It's amazing the replies you'll see about this stuff. Just complete dismissal and gaslighting, and everyone sees it, and knows it. Definitely by now. Never contesting the accusation, ever.
Wtf happened to this game i want the dark mysterious atmosphere the first trailer showed us. Im so glad KCD2 comes out in Feb Xbox through this game under the bus lol
If I recall right, they said it will be similar to The Outer Worlds world map & playtime. So the price should be around the same price! I was planing on pre - ordering but now.... Fuck no, and yeah I agree. The pre order is just dumb, and lazy in my opinion. It offers noting of worth to pre order anyway. It would be a realy big blow for me, if this shit effects Obsidian :( Hope not! I want more of Pillar of eternitys world! Even after this.
I like Obsidian's story telling but their games are horribly priced. The Outer Worlds had the same problem. It was priced like a triple-A game but was basically sized and scoped and built like an AA game. The first few worlds were good on the surface, the rest felt a bit rushed, and all of them were completely weird if you didn't just move on and never came back. And now this? 70 bucks for a game where they've constantly slashed their ambitions and reduced the scope and now it's really just a 2010-looking game released 15 years too late? Eh. I'm not really feeling it. And Obsidian are not helping themselves with the premium edition, are they?
I really do Hope that the actual gameplay feels faster and more impactfull than what we saw till now Cause combat kinda feels...like you are Larping with cardboard swords to be honest... And God do i hope that you DON'T neccesarly require shit like wands and staffs to do magic... Its outdated and cringe as fuck...we ain't in Harry Potter here.
-Early access on an already expensive game. -Expensive single player game seems counterintuitive, feels like a ripoff -Single player game with skins?? what's the point? and the skins for npcs at that. -The older generations know that games make it difficult to respec because it gives your character an identity that you build over time and makes you love and appreciate your character for all of the problem solving that went into it. This game throws that idea out the window. Might as well get rid of leveling altogether; you start at max level upon character creation. Takes the fun out of it -Graphics look old, like a blend of Skyrim and Rift, two 20ish year old games. -Gameplay looks generic -Since there are skins, we can assume there is a cash shop, and if there's a cash shop, we can assume it's an online only game....a single player online only game... After all of that, What's with the price tag? There are multiple pitfalls past developers have been called out for in this very brief review. I can't think of any pros; any reason to check this out. I hope they prove me wrong
What does everyone think? Look good? Thank you all for watching and don't forget to checkout the official Action RPG Discord: discord.gg/YHa2UGhFQ5
I think I'll wait to watch you play it first before shelling out the cash.
Looks interesting, but i feel they have held back a lot of Deciding "Footage" maybe ?
since when has Obsidian Entertainment been AAA this is their second title lol
Do NOT Pre-Order, Fam! And DEF don't pay for 'head start'.

They recently revealed Avowed is 26 hours to complete and close to 40 hours to 100%. So this game needs to be 50% off minimum to make any sense.
5 days of early access to a single player game is a joke right? Early access in general is a stupid trend but who cares about playing early when you aren't playing with or competing against others?
lol they did that with starfield too. People paid like $100 to play that early 🤣

$120-$140 in Australia. No way.
Yep i Feel you games in Australia are getting so OP. Think i need a new hobby
I really hope it doesn't suck. Not preordering. I'll wait for the reviews I trust and maybe buy it on sale for half off.
Looks like a decent game to try, but not at $70. I might grab it for $20. Thanks for the coverage.

How anyone can look at that trailer and not think that its absolute shite is beyond me.
Preach!
imagine making a trailer advertising the deluxe edition for a single player game unironically.... oh how had Obsidian fallen...

Fact!
Worse you are paying extra to make all other players wait for no reason whatsoever. I don't like to hurt others with my money.
that wasnt a trailer, that was a "look how we can take your money" from what i have experienced with xbox games, if they dont showcase gameplay, its because the gameplay sucks.

Nah I’m immediately out on any kind of first person game. By ARPG people were probably hoping for more of a top down hack and slash.
@@jf2849 there is third person as well
Why is it in the battlenet app when it is not from blizzard though?
Excited about Feb 18th? Sure, I should be a couple of days into playing KCD2, now thats exciting:)) Peace
Think this launches on gamepass right?
Yes
Yea not gonna drop $70 on this il finally get game pass for a few months to play this and Indy Jones
@RumblesBettr yeah same, im excited for it cause I like the studios games, but im not dropping that much for a game that's gonna be on gamepass, and especially not gonna pay to play early lol.
70€ and PRE Order EA Edition for 90 yay good shit...
Is this the Obsidian that did Fallout New Vegas?
Yes.
and Pillars of Eternity games.
I hope they can make combat fun without V.A.T.S. because that first person fighting really need it.
AH
Off course not
People really need to realise that the people who did their fav games 10+ years ago, either where laid off, died or quited the place to work someplace else.

I look forward to the Fall 2025 discount of the game

Sweet Baby Inc is involved, so it's gonna be woke.

Sigh... Can't wait to play this next year when its 30 bucks. Not sure though might miss those skin packs.
Omg five day early access for a single player game. I'll see you when your 20 bucks.

@@scoliosisking6143 No, they are consultants on this game, and clearly documented if you take 10 seconds to look it up. Hope this helps!

Yup, red flags all over this title, D.E.I. and beyond. I'll wait and reserve final judgment, but there's no way I'm diving into this in Feb.
Damn, we need time travel so all you troglodytes can go back to the 50s where you belong.
