Absolute work of art, you are truly a master craftsman. I've been building model engines for about 5 years now, you are an inspiration, I know I will never get to that level of excellence. Thank you for sharing.
My father is a diesel engineer and would always praise B&W engines. As a little boy I remembered how he would tell me about his experiences with these engines in ships. You are a genius to having built this engine with such precision and passion and fully functional.Thumbs up to you.Cheers from Guyana.
I have watched again and again and you are light years better than me---you have created art and beauty as well as craftmanship as well as using mechanical knowledge..
This is like a model ship in a way since these engines in real life were much larger and turning the wheels of industry producing power for machine tools and sewing shops as well as many other forms of manufacture including agriculture. That is a very impressive and artistic working model of an engine that drove industry at the turn of the century. Top notch craftsmanship and such detail in the mechanics. That right there is a testament to your machine skills. I remember seeing pictures of engines much like this one in a WWI era machine shop and even in miniature it looks like a nut for nut bolt for bolt copy except table top size.
Mr. Hansen' miniature engines are outstanding, he is obviously a highly skilled machinist and I suspect that he acquired those skills at Burmeister and Wayne.
@douro 20 Thank you for your comment. The engine could run on lamp oil or kerosene, but turpentine has a very god and clean combustion with very little smoke. I use 1% two stroke oil in the fuel to lubricate the fuel pump and the injector.
Man that is BEAUTIFUL ! I could lower my blood-pressure just watching this vid. I would love to build such a thing, I have the skills, allas not the time, or patience. So I'll be content to adore yours!
@tpvalley Thank you for your comment. The injection pump paremeters are made by many experiments, because you can not scale down the injection pump system from a " big " engine to a small engine. The only way to overfuel the engine is to use the injection pump handle, and with no engine load it will at first smoke a bit bit and at the same time speed up
@andy26111 Yes you are right, and on my hot bulb engines I have a spring conected to flyball governor, to atjust the engine speed, the stronger spring, the more speed etc.
@valic000 Thank you for your fine comment. I never count the time it take to build an engine, but it takes a very long time, especially if it is a quit new model.
@1stMrSceptical Thank you fore your fine comments, none of my engines are made from castings but constructed or fabricated of my own design by me. f my own idea by me
@douro20 Than you for your comment. Perhaps it is the smallest. I would pleased to hear from some one, who have built a hot bulb model engine, or have knowledge of one.
This product admiration and respect for the author! I really enjoyed watching this movie. Moreover, this video shows how powerful the human mind. Thank you so much! Greetings from Russia!
are you a watch maker by any chance ? .. i'm jeweler and engraver also interested in mechanicks of old days . it cheer my heart to knoe that people like you exist ... you are genius !!
Thank you for your fine comments. Often you say that a hot bulb engine and a semi diesel is the same, but a semi diesel has another injection timing, right before top dead center at the compression stroke. Please visit the Internet craftsmanship museum where I got member 2010 for more detail about the subject.

Very beautiful workmanship and machining. Well done sir!
Incredible! Fine, fine workmanship!
Absolutely stunning. As a home shop machinist I feel unworthy! Great work. I'm incredibly impressed by the valvetrain and the workmanship...

A remarkable engine by a remarkable man. Fantastic to see this sort of thing on the internet, for us all to enjoy. Well done Find!
This is marvellous. Even the governor works, which is particularly impressive as so many don't at this sort of scale.
Mr. Hansen' miniature engines are outstanding, he is obviously a highly skilled machinist and I suspect that he acquired those skills at Burmeister and Wayne.
I wish Dodge, Ford, and GM could get their diesel pickups to run with so little smoke!
Beautiful workmanship!!!!
@douro 20 Thank you for your comment.

A truly beautiful model, both design and craftsmanship. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
I've always liked these funny old engines. I think it's just the old world character that I like. Thanks for sharing this.
I build big engines for a living . These little engines just amaze me , love the video .
Wow, truly amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. I would love to see video of you building one.
everything you build is amazing.even the little oil can is like art.
This is art in my eyes, and it makes me thrilled to see such a fine engineered minature engine like this. I take my hat off for you, sir.
Truly beautiful . I call that mechanical art , excellent work
Thank you for your fine comments.
Magnificent effort. Respect from Australia, friend.
Hypnotic to watch and listen to. Like a musical instrument. Excellent creation.
Man that is BEAUTIFUL ! I could lower my blood-pressure just watching this vid.

It's beautiful
very impressed, extremely well engineered , was a pleasure to watch and listen , thank you

I love seeing all the moving parts.
A beautiful little engine, some amazing intricate detail around the valvegear, well done!
The Engine is a credit to you! What I don't understand is why some people have to leave negative feedback. Cheers from John.
Your hands are made of gold, mr.Hansen!
Beautiful! A work of art, a true masterpiece.
Beautifully designed and constructed!
Truly a thing of beauty, I love this and thanks for posting the video so we can see it :)
I spent ten minutes of my life watching this marvelous thing tick away. Wonderful... just wonderful.
Stunning workmanship :)
@andy26111 Yes you are right, and on my hot bulb engines I have a spring conected to flyball governor, to

Amazing craftsmanship :)
Very nice work! Thank you for showing it.
Amazing work. I support "aussieaermodeler", this is art! Best regards from a 1.engineer on a B/W 6S70MC.
Beautiful work of mechanical art !
Thanks for sharing with us.
That is an amazing work of art. Very precise yet simple. I want to build one and use it to power a pencil sharpener or a pepper grinder.
install a 100litre tank and set it on... in 100years archeologists will find this engine still running !! amazing !!
why would archeologists find this in 100years? that's like 2 generations away
besides, it wouldn't last 100years, the fuel goes bad
Just have a maintenance guy mole looking after it lol
The oil supply will run out and the bearings will seize.
Your engine is a work of art! Amazing.
@valic000 Thank you for your fine comment. I never count the time it take to build an

practical yet beautiful, great job
Beyond Sweet- FANTASTIC!!! Thanks for Sharing
Thank you for your fine comment, and the engine can run on regular diesel fuel, but with a little more smoke.
How about Aniline instead of Turpentine?
Thank you for your comment, yes it idles low, but perhaps not that low.
Nice job done there sir.
the timing lever has given me an idea for a reversing steam engine option.
Sir...What a pity..what a pity...You did not show your face....I'd love to see the face of the creator of such a fine engine..truly admired
What a pity what a pity.. You did not slow
@1stMrSceptical Thank you fore your fine comments, none of my engines are made from castings but constructed or fabricated of my own design by me.
f my own idea by me
A beautiful engine!

Beautiful!
Excellent job for engine enthusiast
Beautiful and unique!!!!
@filmkalle Thank you for your fine comment, sorry I do not have any building pictures of this engine, built
before the digital camera was invented
Great engine! Thank you for the video.
