No need to think of the game Rift as a frame of reference for how the rift dynamic events would look like in GW2. There are already the Scarlet's minions events in Living World Season 1, the Bloodstone Elemental Incursions in LWS3 and the Awakened invasion events in LWS4. What's new with the SOTO rifts is the scalability of those events. If they scale to the degree of the defense phase in the Specimen Chamber (aka Sandswept Isles south meta), I'm hooked!
Im fairly sure its also a way to fill open world areas in a much more effective way than the usual collections required (which are finished and non repeatable anyway) or the dailies (which gather people in specific maps only). I hope they'll be more prevalent in maps such as PoF ones, as theyre big but very empty, and some flat open world ones. Im excited honestly :D
All good stuff. But I'm still incredibly disappointed in ANet's non-existing marketing. If it weren't for content creators putting in the extra effort to cover what tiny bits of news we get, I would have 0 hype for this expansion frankly. Now compare that to the recent FFXIV Dawntrail expansion announcement... I'm not saying they should have an event the size of a Fanfest. But damn we got literally nothing but blog posts.
Hey Kroof! I'm not a gw2 player, but i really like your content. I'm thinking on starting to play for real after this new expansion releases. I really like hammers and shileds, what professions do you recomend to play with this weapons? focusing on dps and pve, leveling and stuff.
I would mostly likely recommend the Warrior and Guardian at this point - they have good DPS options and have access to those brute-force/bruiser weapons. 🙏
@@KROOF thanks! Warrior side, Spellbreaker would be better for hammer? And about the Guardian? And using shields, there's a fun build for suppor that uses that also can handle thenself and not suffer to much with low dps?
RIFT !! RIFT came out in 2011, 1 year before GW2, and had amazing zone invasions, other rift events, and highly-customizable classes. Too bad Trion mismanaged (abused/milked) it to support other failed projects, stopped developing it, and sold its corpse to Gamigo.
I was excited about this until they showed what rifts are in a short video on twitter... It was utterly disappointing... New cryptis models reusing old enemy animations which made them look like they are gliding on the air and perhaps the worst video editing i have seen from a gaming company lol...
it seems like anet is finally going out of their comfort zone to create something fun to play.
Just wanted to check what's with Kryptis events and I ended up hearing a very clear and relaxing voice. Subbed!

The scaling is something I’m very keen to see.
Seeing how the Kryptis look, now I'm sure: they coming for revenge on Verata, who made experiments on them to prolong necro minions life duration 😆
Necromancer connections would be super cool. 👀
Looking forward to gw 2 content binge again
So looking forward to playing GW2 - Oblivion!

YESSS more news!!!! And next week even more?! SOTO CLOSER EVERY DAY!
The voice something about it ❤

agreed, anet really sucks at marketing.
I think the answer is: money. Advertisement costs a ton. Like, a lot.

Yeah i also thought about rift.
Hey! I just went to preorder SOTO through your link and it's not opening to anything :(
Hmm very interesting - I just clicked on the Expansion link and it sent me to the shop. Does nothing pop up at all?
@@KROOF It won’t open on my PC but it will on mobile, so it’s probably a me problem 😭 Sorry about that
@@hanas9006 no worries - tech be a pain sometimes XD
Nice update! :)
I hate how bounty boards are implemented.

Show don't tell basics...
Lame should have shown it and rewards from it.
