I think they’re trying to make a Gardevoir Drifloon substitute; one that uses the Xatu engine instead with Tulip recovery. The problem is, whether you’re using Bravery Charm or Drifblim-Relicanth, Garde has higher damage output for about the same number of cards and less bench space.
Metagross not only is great, but it SHOULD be Psychic. With a lot of Gardevoir ex's partners rotating out soon, Psychic is taking a HUGE hit. Metagross being able to potentially hit for 280, for 2 energy, in a deck that's already likely running Rare Candy, is just incredible. It won't be nearly as good as if Psychic still had stuff like Fog Crystal post-rotation, but Gardevoir ex + Metagross has some INSANE potential depending on how future sets go. At the end of the day, 2 energy and a Stage 2 really isn't that hard to get out, and the requirement for 280 isn't too terrible either. People are WAY too hard on Stage 2 cards because they're quite frankly too lazy to put in the effort to make them work.
@@boxkid759 In a game where one of the primary aspects is the typing of the cards, yeah, all of them should be good to some degree. It would suck to see the meta dominated by the same 1-2 types all the time due to favoritism or poor balancing. Like, imagine if the meta was ONLY filled with Fire decks and there were no good Water cards to counter them.
@ARDIZsq you don't realize how bad grass has been right. No. Not all need to be good to some degree. Historically some types have always have been good and some have not.
I don't care what you say but I'm so tired of seeing psychic types decks being good. I hope the psychic type decks gets so bad. We need a change. We need GRASS decks being good
The Scottish Flag Pokemon is seeing more popularity lately and I ain't complaining!! Edit: in all fairness, having a one-prizer that easily does 280 damage is pretty damn scary, I guess that's why they kept it psychic.
I see what you mean, but this doesn't need much energy acceleration. Xatu works better here, for a casual single-prize psychic deck. Since this relies on having Metang present, it suggests a nice build with no rare candy, or just one. What I find infuriating: How can you print another baby Metagross, instead of Metagross ex, or better yet, SALAMENCE?
I know it’s not optimal but what about Mewtwo EX. One psychic energy and it lets you attach from discard. It’s only once per turn but since you only need 2 it could be possible
Needing Beldum on the bench too just sucks. Chaining attacks will just be too hard. Maybe if it was one of beldum or metang? Just a few too many problems.
Xatu has a better atkrs bro. Also, decks like this run a thin line of energy like 6 energy, which Xatu needs to draw cards, Xatu needs to accel energy from hand to draw.
@@marcoasturias8520that doesn't fix the problem at all that requires you to have an energy/vessel in hand everytime you use Crispin it defeats the purpose

as a Stage 2? nah mate. even a basic can do better dmg than that
Smoochum from surging sparks can let you attach 2 psychic energy to one pokemon. No energy cost and free retreat
in a world of Dusknoir? nah mate
Pretty sure it's Psychic because the Stephen starter deck is coming the month after this set releases.
Use this card as a tech and use neo upper energy as ur ace spec ?
Xatu, Espathra seem like likely mates for the Metagross

Well with jam tower and mimikiu who doesn’t let use abilities and Ex was time to have something !

weird that there's so many non-trainer's Pokemon in this set.
weird that you expected every single of the 100 cards on the set to be trainer's Pokemon
@@GonxalusAika I mean we've enough trainers to do it, especially if each trainer had six pokemon families to work with, so it's not impossible

Maybe also the tripple Energy
even Xatu has a better attacker to use. It's just lame that this ain't Metal since we have TEF Metang
Looks kinda hype w Xatu. And Artazon and rods.

Not double rare? Absolutely unplayable garbage.
I think Crispin fixes the issue
No
Crispin needs different energy types, can't work unfortunately.
