  • I'm over the henna...so I am going back to blonde. But getting the henna out of my hair has been difficult. In this video I talk about what I have been doing to get rid of the henna and show you some pictures-- at the end-- of the changes my hair has been going through over the last few months. Check out my previous video about dying my hair with henna, link below.

    Vitamin C powder coconut oil and clarifying shampoo. I use peroxide too which is ok for warming tones. Just stay away from your roots.
    Also use heat to lighten faster. I use a sauna but you can use shower cap and blow dryer 🤍

      How did it work out? Did you get the henna out with the baking soda and juice? I tried vitamine C with dandruff and coconut oil. I don not see much result yet. Only the bad smell of the henna comes back..lol. If you found something that worked, please let me know.

      Thanks!
      I only did the oil once because it was a royal pain to wash it out. I had to let it naturally wash out over time. The tips of my hair are still a bit bronze even though its been a few years and it’s lighter from the sun.

    Never apply any chemicals on henna, it goes in chemical reaction with it making hair burn from the inside. I've just recently done that mistake and applied henna on my hair for the first time ever and holy shit I hate it. What's been working for me is firstly straighten the hair to open the cuticles. Spray hair thoroughly 1 measure of coca cola mixed with 4 measures of water and then apply coconut oil. Why coca cola? It contains phosphoric acid which helps to get rid of the dye. As you apply the oil backcomb the hair so that the oil gets inside the hair. Put cling film all over hair and put a towel on it. Keep as long as you can (you can sleep in it). After that time I wash hair with head&shoulders interchangeably with a purifying citrus shampoo, as many times as required to get rid of the oil. Then I apply a henna mask Natural Classic Henna Hair Treatment Conditioner (it's great for hair growth and doesn't dye hair). I have done it twice and there was a lot of orange water going. The color is muuuuch less offensive and my hair is not damaged at all. This should be done around 2/3 times a week until desired result. You're welcome

      Thanks! If I need to again, maybe I will try this. Since this video, I’ve just naturally grown it out.

    Did you manage to get all henna out? I used henna for over 7 years now. But my nature hair are getting more grey so I am starting to think to go back to my nature colour with blond highlights. But I am really worried what it will make with henna.

      Its never fully came out. The red/orange tone kept getting lighter over time, but I didnt have the energy to continue to try and get it out so I left it grow. 😁

    Henna is the worst lol I was fine with it at first until I had to keep it up to do my grey's coming in... And it's a DRAG.... Now I want to go blonde again and it's relentless lol. It's fading and lighter but man, I will NEVER use henna again.... Ever.... If I could go back and warn myself I would lol. If anyone sees this and is on the fence about henna, here is your fair warning. 💕😂

    I’m frustrated also with the henna. There just is not enough flexibility when coloring hair.
    I think this main feature should be emphasized to women. I think henna isn’t too bad for using a lighter shade than their hair.
    The henna I used is very high quality no metallic elements or toxins.
    I’m going back to Demi-permanent hair color. It’s a shame that henna didn’t work as it’s conditioning effect was great. Maybe if the companies would emphasize the highlights that henna gives- and to actually give a clear cut way to get a cool Blonde, light cool brown along with darker cool shades it would have ended positively.
    It’s very sad to be unhappy with our hair when especially we spent so much time doing the henna!!! And there are so few henna hair specialists in the country. I’m going back to Goldwell Colorance as soon as I can.

      What was it that you didnt like with henna for your hair specifically?

    • @lucinda6816

      @@aprilannroy I didn’t like that to cover the gray henna adds gold, orange or red highlights. I should have colored a light brown. But, in the end, I think I have the same complaint that others have- I like different and a variety of hair colors. I don’t mind some gray showing through- but want a natural multi colors effect. The best conditioning effects last 2 months maybe. There is just much, much more flexibility when coloring my hair with Demi-permanent colors. And I can use a cool blonde or dark blonde that reduce the bright silver, and add two different low lights to add dimension. I’m just glad I have used henna on my whole head just once and used very high quality powders. So, I hope to be out of this growing out or transitioning back to natural in less than a year. I’ll be wearing a headband etc while the grays grow out again. I also will be happy that the overall shade will be a few shades darker than the silver- but will blend in more than medium brown. Good luck. For conditioning- nothing beats a good deep conditioner and sit under a conditioning heat cap for 30-45 minutes. Any length hair could benefit from it.

    How long did you leave hydrogen peroxide on your hair? Thanks

    • @aprilannroy
      @aprilannroy  2 роки тому

      I left it on till it dried. At other times when I have used peroxide, I used a hair drier and dried it fully…its the heat that really gets it to work.

      Henna and indigo must be applied for you to have a beautiful black hair. As speaking today is my first time using both so now my head is all covered up will leave it in for a few hours before rinse.

    Hi! How do you use the peroxide? Like the ratio etc?

    • @cowbaisin
      @cowbaisin 2 роки тому +1

      Straight up peroxide. Nothing else. It is drying on your hair, just fyi. And it takes a number of applications to lighten it.
