When they are in school they are told you have to get 90-95% marks in 10th 12th boards, when they go for college they have to get their degree from the best college in India(DU,IIT,IIM,JNU,etc). If you are going for competitive exams then study hard for UPSC, CA,CS,CMA, JEE, NEET, CAT,CFA,CPA etc. But this is the reality. You dont need a degree & bookish language to do any job. You just need the right skill set & talent which is non-existent in Indian education system. Our education system & society tell a student to do rote learning rather than skill building

If you want to come and work as a crew in deck side or engine side 12th and gp rating course in indian is enough. But as an officer u need to get atleast 65% in pcm and 50% in english for 12th and attend imucet entrance test ,get to a good college ,do your 3 years degree in nautical science or 4 years or marine engineering then you have to go as a deck cadet or engine cadet for 12 or 18 months then come back give second mates exam conducted by Dgshipping india and class 4 exams conducted same wise(believe me this exams and orals are not that easy to clear)and hell of courses advance course to do 😂 and just he said 12th pass no thats just a wrong answer
