    Thanks for making this video. Super easy to tie and I have been killing the pan fish on this fly.

    Very informative, have you ever just used dubbing so as not to pinch the squirmy material, after I put my base thread on the hook I start my wraps over the squirmy material with dubbed thread never have had a problem slicing the material.. I have had great luck using scud dubbing on my squirmies I do like your use of the thread while tying down the worm material, I can see why that would work, and especially the counter clockwise spin so as to have flat thread.Nice work....

    Thanks, Ryan. I'm wondering whether almost any UV stuff would work, or is there magici in the Loons brand? tom

      Thanks for watching. Feel free to call or e-mail Ryan at the shop directly and he'll be happy to help. He won't see the question here just so you know.

    Reallly great video tried tying some of my own and turned out great and the fish liked them too. But I was just wondering what’s the smallest size you could go for a squirmy wormy?

      Thanks for watching. You can go as small as you like but would think that anything below 16 might be challenging and the material just simply too thick at that point. Let us know if we can help further.

    So I loose my mind with trying to get it secured straight I take some wire and use that to secure it while I wrap seems to work for me

    Thick or Thin Loon UV finish?

      @Madriveroutfitters  7 років тому +2

      Thin for sure so that it gets soaked up nice by the thread wraps! Thanks for watching.

    So why is it controversial?

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  6 років тому +4

      Tigger Woods There are some folks out there who consider this not a fly. Especially the ones made from the Squirmy rubber material. They consider this cheating.

      Really? They should get a life and worry about something thats actually important.

      @@tiggerwoods8829 It's a fly that can outright win a tournament on the right day, and not banned from tournaments as far as I know. Of course some people are going to be butt hurt about it. This is a great steelhead fly for me, and a must in a 2 fly fishing rig for trout (anchor nymph + squirmy)
