So, as I watch almost every race, I noticed last Sunday at Path Valley when Nick Hoffman pulled over to have his left front examined his right rear moved up about 3 inches similar to Kyle Larson's front end last year. Not sure if this Has been talked about But I just wanted to point it out. You can see the right rear clearly rise up after he has stopped and parked.
Angell Park is in downtown Sun Prairie and I can understand the teams and fans being mad about not finishing the race, but there is a growing number of residents in that city that would love to shut that track down. Sun Prairie has probably doubled in size in the last 25 years and I would say most of them aren't race fans. The track is probably having to kiss the ring of the city council as it is and it's never going to get better for them.
It looked to me like Gravel gunned it and got a bad start and the 42 got left holding the bag. It was a bad call by the WoO officials because it robbed the 41 of a great start too. They should’ve run the sprint car feature first at Angel Park. What were they thinking? Oh well, great show.
I’ve been to many events that seem to have unnecessarily long intermissions or breaks between races and the only thing that can explain it is the desire to sell more concessions
Running 10 laps under caution for a single car spin during a street stock heat race doesn't help either. How long does it take to get 6 cars in the proper running order?
At Tri City a couple weeks ago, the B mods were on and taking over a 1/2 hour to get 2 car separated. Brad Sweet came on to the track on a 4 wheeler, mins after that they pulled the B mods off the track to allow the High Limit outlaws to race the main. So glad he did that, no one was there to watch the b mods crash it up and drive slow af.
I was there last night at Angell Park. I heard that they added the legends because they had a car count average of 16 cars... They broght 30 to APS. Still don't know why they ran first. But Angell Park is a midget track. It was standing room only because of the midgets. Their purse for the A Main was $15k or $18k with bonuses. So they were going to get their Main done before curfew. They did shorten the legends Main by 8 laps because of all their yellows. I'm with you, don't know why they did the 4 wide salute. Or running the 2 dashes knowing curfew was tight. Pill draw for starting spots, it would have saved about 5-6 minutes which could have been the winning move to get it in. But let me tell you that Midget Main had to make comp cams top 5 of the week. About 8 lead changes in the last 2 laps between 4 drivers, lost my voice. Keep up the great videos!

Earle Baltes always got the race in. He cancelled everything not necessary when rain was coming. To know you have a hard curfew time and not get the main feature run is unacceptable. You would never get my $ again.
I would be so pissed off if they ran the legends and then didn't do the 410s. I lived in Madison and went to Angell Park about 20 years ago and don't remember it being such a cluster
When you have curfew you need to have to the time enforcement on all divisions. Plus they run the sprint cars earlier because that’s what they sold the show to the fans. As a support local racer that sucks, but time management with a curfew is critical
Every track owner should go to Attica raceway park a see how they run a show. If you do it like them you be ok. You will have bad night every once in a while but not very odten.
Outlaws may cancel there up coming race after the seeing videos of the last 2 races,,,,,Geeeeez,Noceti and daughter have no clue ,they embarrass them selves every race they try,and Wayne was drunk talking on the PA
For the IRA stuff, I was there Saturday (at the Plymouth Dirt Track), and they had just completed the feature before the 11 pm curfew after a 45 minute track rework before hot laps. IRA is on a bad streak of running their features after 10 pm, which should not be the case for a midwest sprint car series. And for Angell Park, the track ran the midgets first because it was a memorial race.
Good grief! Why were they reworking the track in the middle of the event? No or lousy track prep during the week? There's no excuse for that and running up against curfew.
@HazelCotton track was way too watered down for some reason, it was sticking to the tires. They probably spent 30 minutes in motor heat packing it down, just to till up the bottom because it was gonna be bad if they went racing on it
When you have a visiting group, you ALWAYS have to make sure they get their race done. It's one thing if you have a big crash or some other unforseen delay, but just dinking around is a really bad look for whoever made those calls.
I went to a usac race at Angel Park 2 years ago and they put so much water down they flooded the track and said they couldn't get it ran in.... they lied to all the fans they canceled the race they say due to the wetness but all in all it was because they scheduled the same night as the Poweri midgets at lake Ozark and only 14 midgets showed up to angel park.... that put a bad taste in my mouth
I've been to countless curfew shows and it always irritated me when they would have cancel the headliner because they ran 4cyl and stuff first. My logic was always to push them to the end if they still have time. People don't go out of their way and pay good money to watch old acuras wreck civics.
Justin - you called out HL for officiating last week but you failed to mention the debacle with David Gravel at Sharon. DG biked the front wheels so bad and was in the process of losing several positions and even Johnny Gibson commented on it and because the outside pole driver was not a WOO regular they called off the start and gave DG his pole back. HIS car owner also owns tracks that host over 10% of the WOO schedule (6 Husets, 2 Jackson) and Husets has streaming deal with DirtVision. That’s much worse than the HL deal.
This seems to happen with WoO often. Local drivers are screwed in favor of WoO regulars. I am hoping we don't start seeing this with HL. I really don't like the provisional rule (I think both series have it), If you suck one particular night you don't make the A Main, shouldn't matter who you are. I get events that are about total points but on a regular night of qualifying, heat, B-Main, A-Main if you don't earn a spot in the A-Main you don't earn a spot in the A-Main, just my opinion

Angel Park Speedway is a beautiful little track. I really enjoyed the one race I was able to attend there when I happened to be in the area but it does seem like they have trouble with the track surface and it's quite unfortunate about the curfew but I think the races would have been over a lot sooner with a better track surface most of those cautions happened because of how rough the track was. It looked really bad.
Thank you, Justin, for everything you do. A curfew stoppage is much worse than a rainout because a curfew has been put in place because of humans. The humans that want the curfew don't like racing but have chosen to move close to a track that was there before them. Humans SMH!!

We almost went to Angell but it's two hours west. Glad I didn't. I would have been a tad upset having to travel 2 hours home without seeing a complete 410 feature. Do you have any insight as to why this happened 2 nights in a row at tracks in SE Wisconsin?

It makes for good photos & always a fan favorite. Between the cheering crowd & cluster of cars rumbling at low rpm makes for a cool sound. Hope you get to experience one.
The way some tracks put their local divisions ahead of a touring series just amazes me. Or tracks that won't drop a couple of their eight or nine local divisions when the "big boys" race. I have literally sat through 20 lap "features" with 3 or 4 FWD cars while looking at rain move in and the series I came to see sitting in staging. It drives me crazy
I have, too. These promoters need to realize anything over 4 divisions is TOO MANY. There is a track in my area I refuse to attend, because it runs SIX local divisions, no matter what. They could get rid of 2 divisions, the show would run in 3 hours, stead 4, and they'd draw more people.
Angell Park only had 3 divisions racing, but the midgets are a big deal at the track and it was one of the big races for them. It still sucks for the IRA's thought.
Its been rough for fans in calif.Most, if not all of the top drivers are with the HL or WoO. 90% of the races at tulare and hanford have been cancelled.Stockton track is a long ways from being a decent track. Ive seriously given up on trying to go anywhere until the big boys come around.

And bitch session for me as I've been trying to buy HL tickets for Hanford and Tulare but unfortunately it's only direct through the track and guess who never answers the phone and doesn't have voicemail or online ticketing. You'd think tracks would make it pretty easy to buy tickets. I'm not driving all the way there to buy tickets on race night, I want guaranteed tickets

I55 has a curfew too. If there’s any issue, they run the sprint cars. You have to bump the lesser series.

Thanks for talking about NARC again. I've been looking for Stockton highlights to see what the track is like, but found none. Now I know.
It was bad. Guys were driving through the infield in 1 to avoid the rut. It was pathetic. There was a rut in 3 and another one coming out of 4.

I was thinking about traveling 6 hours to see a race there but I won't go until the track is fixed.

Our local track just pays the fine for going past curfew. It doesn't happen often

Angel Park does that often, i recall a traveling late model tour that suffered the same fate at that track.

It's a cool tribute that looks amazing from the stands and sounds incredible. Best saved for the big shows like Knoxville and Eldora, imo.
