As a kid I loved this theme song so much I taped in on my cassette recorder and played it over and over again. I don't know what made me think of the song/show but decided to search for it. Thank you for posting this. I’ve never heard it again since 1974, but I’ve never forgotten it! There’s another little short theme they played whenever the bears were walking. I’ve played this on piano and sung it often, just by ear and faulty memory. Nearly 50 years??? Yikes!
Oh man - I just thought of this theme tune, after over 30-odd years of not having even thought about it as far as my recollection goes, and I just suddenly hummed it out (with nobody else around!) after it decided to surface in my mind just now, with every single note correct and a good few of the words intact as well ('Sierra majesty...she is my life to me, she is my home...'), BEFORE even looking for this anywhere! :D It just goes to show, everything you've ever seen and heard in your entire life is all up there in your brain, and it stays up there - somewhere...

The show Sierra couldn't compete with the show called The Walton's is what I heard and then the show was cancelled, that is such a shame when the show could have had potential. I remember the show and I am 59 years old. Later on I enjoyed the show The Life And Times Of Grizzly Adams!
For years this theme tune has played on and off in my mind because I loved it as a kid but I didn’t know where it was from and now I’ve found it!! For some reason though, I thought Mark Harmon started in it (probably muddled him up from another series I used to watch)… At least I now know the series wasn’t just my imagination, I thought perhaps I’d made the whole thing up for the past 40 years!!😂

Question: There was a two-part episode of Emergency where Johnny and Roy go on a vacation in the country, and they wind up helping people who need care, and consulting with the local sheriff on how to set up their own paramedic program in the area. Do you know whether this was based off of that?
@@robertlivingstone5759 The episode is Welcome to Santa Rosa County the episode that taught poor counties how to setup an EMS program with EMTs, CB radios and pickup trucks and relay through the sheriff's radio system.
Does anyone know any information on how I can find copies of any episodes of Sierra? James G Richardson is my uncle that played Ranger Tim Cassidy and I have been looking for copies of Sierra my whole life. My uncles Jimmy died in a skiing accident in 1983.
I sadly only have this German intro. Being a Universal series, in America I think it'd be ideal for Timeless Media Group to release on DVD and perhaps Madman in Australia to name two possible companies, now that Uni themselves don't seem to care about it.
This show wasn't on long in Germany....I was a child then, living there.....there were only a few episodes and then it was gone...but I loved those few episodes.....

He had a serious climbing accident that ended his acting career from a ground fall. He was a writer after that. He died from a fall in a skiing accident in California in 1983.

This is exactly what happened to me but a John Denver Tribute started me off. I used to watch this show in Ireland on Saturday mornings.
