Just like in the Joker comic, batman is a looming presence in the background during the entire story. Joker knows he's there and watches him, but he knows its something he cant intervene with.

I watched The Batman (2022) 6 times in cinemas, couldn't get enough of it... Can't wait for The Penguin of course but especially can't wait for The Batman 2 in hopefully less than two years... MATT REEVES is such a cool wholehearted guy, can't wait for that man to hone in on that one next project

6 times in cinema? That's a bit excessive in my opinion I almost feel asleep in the first movie but to each their own I guess.
@@jackbauer5455 Haha, I know it sounds ridiculous but I couldn't get enough of it.... I don't know if it was the black/orange sundowns I kept wanting to come back to in IMAX or if it was the score (The Batman increasingly chasing down Penguin in that car scene to that music triples my pulse even just thinking about it) or if it was the murder mystery of it all, it was just so immersive and something about the tone that enthralled the deepest part of me like few movies before it or since have
Batman 2 is going to be compared to The Dark Knight soo reeves has to hit this outta the park …it has to be freeze or maybe calendar man or one of my favorite the ventriloquist.

Yeah exactly I really don’t need to see him. In fact I prefer we don’t see him because I feel like it would just feel like a cameo for the sake of a cameo. BUT I do want to be reminded that this is the same universe constantly. I want it to feel like the movie and not just the sopranos with the penguin in it.
@dawsonbeck8763 They should also react to it. Would be cool to see the criminals start to freak out and make mistakes when the light hits the sky.
Matt Reeves seems like such a chill guy, but at the same time talks so passionately about The Batman and this world. Glad it's in his hands right now

Matt Reeves´s version of Gotham is absolutely perfect, even i really still think that the best version of Gotham is Tim Burton´s. Can´t wait to see this tv show and the sequel to The Batman !
Bro I wish he would briefly show up, maybe in a slightly upgraded armor/padding to tease his suit evolution in the next movie, and further drive home his growth from the events of The Batman…
It’s always a pleasure to see Rob as Batman, it sucks we won’t be seeing him until The Batman Part II in late 2026…… god forbid 2027, if it’s further pushed back for whatever reason. That would be 4-5 years without seeing him return as Batman… almost HALF (if not half) a DECADE… we could really use some in between appetizers to tide us over until then… if only.
I would be very hppy if just ONE scene, if you look in the background at the right moment, you could see Batman perched up high and just watching from the darkness.

It's weird when you take into consideration, that... The very week they met, Bruce Wayne (and or Batman) interacted, faught and at least was in the same general area as Oswald, over SIX TIMES ! IN ONE WEEK !... AGAIN, THE VERY WEEK THEY MET... And suddenly, Penguin is still at large, (probably) doing criminal activity at night, and Batman doesn't even show up for a cameo !?
Batman got a new hope to fight crime in the movie and the (presumably) only notable villain is at large and active and Batman is just no where !?
I mean, he could be on Earth 2 for all the show runners know.
Anyway, while that is ridiculous... I'm still INCREDIBLY EXCITED FOR THIS ! I can't wait !
Although ,... It's a HUGE shame James Gunn and WBD want to bury The Batman epic crime Saga's universe, by mercilessly stealing and cancelling spinoffs left snd right and pushing The Batman 2, first to 2025, Then to 2026 (i think their goal is to delay it to 2147, though). But they destroy everything else too, so whatever.

Yeah it doesn't make any sense lol Pattinson is probably expensive so they wanted to come up with an excuse not to have him in it. Maybe he's scheduled to do other things or said he only wanted to do the movies. I really can't imagine they decided not to have Batman in it to make the story better.
We know where he is- "They think I'm hiding in the shadows but I am the shadows" 😂
"I can't be everywhere, it's a big city." - Batman 2022. I'm pretty sure Penguin is slippery enough to evade Batman, and to avoid past mistakes like he did in the movie.
Do you know anything about Batman, penguin is not slipping through that man’s fingers. He literally had seven interactions with him in the movie and was able to find him extremely easily whenever he wanted. I honestly am scared this is just bad writing and Matt reeves being delusional
I’m ok with the idea of him not showing up but at least light that symbol in the sky show us how feared Batman is for the underground of Gothman through the villains perspectives it would make us understand better the villains and build them further for Part 2

I hope they work Joker in at the end of the series some how so we can see Colin and Barry in a scene together!
It would be awesome if there is one episode where Batman is used not shown but used in some way.
i think batmans disapperance can be explained by him getting kidnapped by either hush or court of owls as both were teased in batman 1
I dont get how people dont talk about what colson said before he died…he definitely planted the seeds for the court of owls
@@MaintenexLLC I think people are looking way deeper into what he said than what was intended... but I don't blame people, I want the court of owls too. I just don't think it's going to happen, sadly

It would be a massive missed opportunity for them to not have a scary scene out of nowhere where characters we are following for an episode and start getting picked off in thee shadows and we see the terror of The Batman from their point of view. And that one scene is the only time we see Batman. That would be perfect.
Honestly, it’s weird that in this Batman crime saga universe, the Penguin will end up having more total screen time by the end of this series. The next two films would probably fix that by giving Batman more and Penguin less again total but that’ll be a while and that’s assuming he Mr. Reeves commits to trilogy.

Atleast its not like the spiderman Sony cinematic universe where spiderman has 0 minutes of screen time while his villains have the rest

The Batman villain Penguin is a parody of the facts around the JFK murders (Oswald, Umbrella man and Jack Ruby).
Of course, Matt isn't gonna reveal batman's gonna show up, but we know he's gonna appear at some point in that series. Maybe the finale.
I feel like people always blow Matt reeves talent way past what it actually is, because how the fuck is the penguin gonna go on some crime spree and shake up the whole criminal underworld and Batman just isn’t there and Matt reeves only explanation is no we don’t know where the main character of the universe is during this show. It’s almost delusional
They really should give Jake a lot longer for his interviews. Five minutes doesn't do anyone justice.
Hope Batman gets a better/upgraded mask in The Batman 2.
Give him the white eyes as eye protectors, after stuff is thrown in his eyes, and he gets his ass kicked....and nearly unmasked.

Maybe it’s just me, but I THINK it’d be KINDA WEIRD to feature him in a show that’s centered around building the story behind one of that universe’s VILLAINS.
I kinda agree. I like they decided to do this and look forward to watching, but also if they did a Hero origin that did not once show a villain that would be weird.
I take that back. After some thought... _a hero without a villain is nothing_ BUT _a villain with no hero, that leads to some dramatic story telling_

Bale has barely 30mins screentime, barely any dialouge, really no characterisation. He just shows up mainly for badly choreographed fight scenes. The Batman 2022 is 100x better. Pattinson has 130mins screentime and is the actual main focus

Overrated. I'll give it its props, the writing is great as always with Nolan. But the atmosphere is such a step down from Batman Begins, how are you gonna sell the escalation of threat if Gotham suddenly feels so vanilla? This is why ultra realism isn't always the best option, you gotta have that stylized gothic aspect which The Batman perfected. Gotham felt like a character in The Batman instead of just being regular Chicago, it actually felt like a hellish landscape. Not to mention Batman himself is severely overshadowed in TDK. In The Batman, all characters are equally great, meanwhile Bale has the weakest aura of all the serious Batmen
You could maybe argue best film but not best “Batman” film that goes to the Batman easily

@@sebganske1992 I don't even intent watching it. The problem is because of this trash, we won't get DCU Batman solo film until 2029, maybe because of this universe Gunn's forced to change his plot to Batman and Damian or Bat-Family on his DCU first Batman film.
Also, because of this, casual movie goers will be confused why there are many Batman simultaneously which will affect the new DCU success. Making 1 Joker, and 1 Batman elseworld thing is just enough, no need to expand it.

If Aunt Matthew would’ve done her homework, she would have created a show in which the character of Oswald cobble pot was constantly being stopped by the character of Bruce, Wayne and the Batman, because in the comics he is omnipresent. Another reason why I hope, James Gunn’s DC universe drowns this universe.
