1 american Irishman loves this. You guys are awesome. I could listen to you all day everyday, if my coworkers don't murder me. Only time will tell. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
+Cowgirlcadet 1701 I was about to say the same thing. That was hilarious. I imagined Darby reading the comment like "Oh what a nice comme... oh. Okay." Lmao
okay, Does ANYBODY know where I can listen to The Irish Ballad by Darby O'Gill? I heard it once on an internet radio someone was listening to and I have been looking for it for a really long time and can't find it, the Pandora website shows the song but won't let me listen to it. . . any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, for some odd reason, that seems to be the only song of theirs you can't listen to anymore. It's such a shame, because that was always among my favorites.
Cute; though the original by Theodore Bikel (who first recorded it for Elektra in 1959) is better, funnier, and makes more sense: When you hear Russian songs, do you suffer? Does your heart start to pound in your chest? If you do then come down to the Kretchma, It costs plenty, but it's from the best. And there is singing, and there is dancing, And the Russian vodka is all right. Come to the Kretchma, that's where you'll ketchma, Drinking vodka every night. In the corner is standing a Cossack. You can see him from way down the block. And inside the candles are gleaming, But except for the candles, it's dark. And there is singing and there is dancing, And the borscht and piroshki's all right. Come to the Kretchma, that's where you'll ketchma, Drinking vodka every night. In the middle is standing Natasha. All the men are beginning to pant. When she's dancing her shoulders they wibrate, And when she's singing you see that she can't. And there is singing and there is dancing, And the Russian baritone's all right. Come to the Kretchma, that's where you'll ketchma, Making whoopee every night.
Imagine not realizing they wanted to do their own version. And everything you said is purely you're opinion. If you like that version more listen to it why come here and tell people what's good. Ya hipster hack.

You misspelled "I'm no fun at parties." Best of luck champ. 👍
Theodore Bikel's version is so much better.
