I don't see why one couldn't more fully appreciate this episode as a tv production in which we're shown the hallucinations as if they're real. Then we would be treated to several beautiful women.
Just started listening but I no it's gonna be great and I love the comment, "in a million could be stars in a thousand maybe worlds!!" Every episode is so well done and I don't recall a bad episode? Thanx for all the uploads, I and others really appreciate the time u take to upload these classic stories!! Please don't stop. As a footnote, it's a shame u only have 5,300 subs u should have 50K as people don't no what they're missing but give it time Mr. OTR we'll spread the word!!
“a dried up old bat” said with venom. how lovely. a learned, experienced doctor with a beautiful soul is nothing but “a dried up old bat”. anyone know how that makes an older woman feel? imagine living as an older person hearing and feeling that??!! good story though. updated, it could be quite acceptable now!! 🫣 must watch some cute pets now!! 🐶🐥🐕🐈☃️🌷🌱
A good story, and very well acted. Like several old sci fi stories, however, it neglected the easily predictable fact that radio communication would be used to maintain contact and mitigate isolation.
>goodwifeweaver : No one can be entirely certain s/he isn't hallucinating. So what? Radio communication would help maintain sanity and be generally useful.
This concept of solitosis ought to be applied to the Star Trek universe...it helps explain why the Enterprise has dozens or even hundreds of crew, despite the several episodes where one or two crew have to run the whole ship while rescuing everyone else from the villains or monsters of the week.
Too bad the young people today don’t have the imagination gene Nor do the modern kids possess the neat gene . When I growing up people wore sport coats shirt and tie shined shoes .You all are quite aware of this spiral down (Morals )
Love.
These stories thank you
My favorite episode and definitely one that can only be fully appreciated through the radio :-)
Agreed. Great Theater of the Mind!

There are a few bad episodes, but usually the fault lies with the writer of the original story rather than the makers of the radio adaptation.
Again and again thank you old time radio researchers.
Wonderful show 👏
I love theater-of-mind!
Outstanding Story.
Reminds me of film 'Solaris'. Apparitions that appear to lonely crew of a space station. Wish I had could read this (book).
Yes, apparitions appear.

this is fiction.......
@@borger9952 : Implausible fiction is inferior fiction.
How would the person know that they weren't just hallucinating about the radio communication?

That's an awesome idea
Outstanding ending. Didn't see it coming.
I'd like to think that Mr. Chalker's first name was Jack.
I think I see you now as you really are 💘
Some older folks want a little love ❤
Only X Minus One could get away in the 50s with an episode focusing on the sexual fantasies of a lone space man. 😂😂

The conformity of the generation you revere demonstrated neatness but not imagination. Neatness does NOT imply morality.
Ok boomer
Yes
I’m not a boomer. Missed it by 2 months
Yeah and you walked up hill to school and up hill back home, in the snow, with only one shoe
