Amazed at the crisp editing& the perfect knitting of the incidents in the story..I have watched several old films..some painfully boring, some managed to endure having started off watching...This is a perfect movie. Couple of days back had watched Shantaram Ji's Shakuntala...starring Jayashree Ji & Chandra Mohan Ji. Feel over_ whelmed. Thanks again

This movie must have been the inspiration for another movie- "Dulhan wohi jo piya man bhaage" Which is one of my favourite movies. It was strange to see Meena Kumari sing two songs in some other singer's voice and later sing two songs in Lata Mangeshkar's voice.
Thanks for uploading Tamasha 1952 with English Subtitles. English subtitles are missing in other versions uploaded by others. It becomes very difficult to understand old time hindi. English subtitles helps viewers a lot. Thank you Tommydan55.

And how can one afford to miss that Maverick Monarch Kishore Kumar so vibrant even in his early twenties. I wonder how he would have been as a kid or even as a toddler ! His entering a scene and all other participants will get messed up and out of their caliber and preparedness.

Nice print. Pretty Meena K in her prime. Mainly of nostalgic value. The blackmail plot was extremely weak. Getting married does not guarantee access to money. In fact in the 1950s India the husband was boss and could treat his wife as he saw fit. So it was very dangerous for a woman to enter into a hostile marriage.

this is a great movie! do you have the film kinare kinare which also stars dev anand and meena kumari? would love to see a better print of it. most of the prints up on youtube have a fat logo or don't have subtitles.
