Once again a compilation of most viral songs that I haven't heard except chak de India and gori gori and that too because I love those movies😂 and ofcourss tauba tauba 🙄(there is no escape from that) And I really think even those insta obsessed might not have heard most of it
I get what you mean but i personally love good mashups because it gives a new angle to the songs you've already heard. There's always someone in school/college with a guitar playing multiple songs, arranging the verses/bridges of different songs in a way that gives a good transition and everyone loves that feeling of singing along. As non-musicians but lovers of music and singing that's what most people do. For me, some songs just instantly remind me of another and they don't have to be similar but it gives a feeling that they'd sounf so good together, they could become one song complimenting each other like jugalbandi.
I feel, personally, people like remix because when you are used to hearing a song one because it's remix a different beat is layered onto both the songs, so the entire composition feels different than usual and then secondly and more importantly when you're expecting the song to go as usual you are suddenly surprised as the lyrics of another song comes in. And Surprise is a good way of drawing attention, making people feel good, and so on...Maybe that's why people usually listen to remix .. it's like a variation
Its quite true and sad...I haven't added many new mainstream songs in my spotify playlists coz they didnt vibe to the core 🥲 but then there are unnoticed hidden gems still waiting to be heard 😅 its become quite difficult
I'm SOOO upset seeing this 😭😭😭 I'm an Indian living in Canada and NO songs other than classis hit ones EVER came across on my reels...WTFFF! 😭 Watch are people watching 😢 These needs to be fixed mann..U can't bear it 😢🫠
Listening to your rant on mashups.. I got curious. It was a Sush and Yohan mashup and I'm neither a fan of mashups, nor do I consider it proper music composition. However, there is a video curated by them which I absolutely love and would like to see you guys react to it. It's called "Can We Stay Forever: A Sush & Yohan Experience". It never gets old for me for some reason, probably because of the song that is taken as the base. A part from this mashup had gotten pretty viral like in reels and tik toks too back when it came out. But I never hated that. Please do check this out, even if you do it without a camera.
This independence day please do a podcast on patriotic songs...u can include - 1- Hai preet jaha ki reet sada 2- Sandese aate hai 3- Aye mere watan k logo 4- Aye mere pyare watan ( from the movie Kabuliwala)
Ohh that would be cool but we can add more new songs to the list too! And I was gonna suggest the songs but they should totally watch "Rang De Basanti" for Independence Day vibes.
I watch so many reels that 70-80% i have heard 😅 i haven't heard mostly the region based language songs like some Punjabi songs or bihari songs or haryanvi
I agree. I too am biased towards classical music. Of course the word music can mean anything to anyone. But music is considered art only when it stems from either a deep knowledge of the subject or challenging the subject rules to create a masterpiece. Remixes are neither. Yes they are a fresh way to revisit known songs, but no that doesn’t make them art. One has to do A LOT, and I mean A LOT, for their work to be called art. All of us music lovers, even those who can sing and play, are ultimately just students of that art that has been created by the real artists. The remix people are ultimately doing derivative work and that is great-no hard feelings- but that’s not art. Art is too deep a term to be used for something as simple as mixing songs on a machine. There is no skill or imagination involved, which are the two prerequisites to creating art. So call it an activity, call it fanfiction of music (even that has the potential to turn into art if done well and something new is created e.g. Munna bhai mbbs background score got turned into the song All is Well in 3 idiots), or whatever, but not art. I too enjoy remixes. We all have our simple pleasures. But they’ll never be mentioned or even remotely close to my mind when I’m thinking of art. It’s great, whatever it is, just not art.
With that Tabla and Electronic Percussion analogy, Efra means everyone should walk or run and never drive a car or fly a plane because the true mode of travel is walking/running. Gotcha. I was not a fan of 90% of these songs but dude, if you don't like it, doesn't mean its trash. Music after all is a subjective thing. Like wtf!!!
Only 3 songs from India I have heard of and Gori Gori is from Main Hoon Na and this little clip does no justice to the fun of the song and it’s KK and Shreya and Sunidhi. Please watch the movie it’s the directorial debut from Farah Khan - the same director as Om Shanti Om and she choreographed the songs too
You guys, please react to old bollywood classics, tu hi re, dil se all tracks, malyalam and tamil classics, northeast folk music, rajasthani folk music, there is a lot to uncover than these trending songs
