So grateful to have found out your channel! I'm a senior in college studying finance and accounting and about to start my MBA this January. These videos help me understand more what I learn in classes because our professors just reads off of powerpoint slides. Thanks Kenji, God bless!
Great video once again! Packed with useful info. Here is another useful one for part two. Ctrl + T - automatic table formatting…. Also double clicking format painter is super useful.. i wonder if you press the shortcut twice if it will have the same effect
Awesome video man! I am soon starting my job in consulting and wanted to step up my Excel game a little bit, your video defintely helped! Would love to see more of this!
Super useful one! By the way Kenji , just wanted to drop an idea for a possible video: I'd love to see from you a video about: "The top 5 hard skills for business students" with the main skills that later on might be useful in business positions, and therefore might be interesting to train and invest time in being proficient during our university period.
@@KenjiExplains Yes! Actually I explained myself pretty bad, but I was maybe thinking of technical tools that might be useful (Maybe Excel, Python, PowerBI, SQL, etc). But technical skills as financial accounting or any other in specific would be super interesting as well :D
@@nachoroman6102 I see! I'll note it but overall I'd recommend Excel first and one you master it SQL. SQL is useful for managing large datasets for example if you're in financial planning.
Hi Kenji. I’m about to start my BSc in Economics and was wondering what kind of laptop you and your colleagues use as I’d like to keep mine for some years into my career. Windows or Mac for example? Thanks
Hi! The majority of companies in business fields use windows. That said you’re usually given a company computer so you wouldn’t be using your personal one
Hi Kenji. I would like to take advantage of the financial edge course you mentioned. My question: Which courses exactly would you recommend me to take? My aim: I want to work in finance (investment banking / private equity / wealth management / trading - i am not sure everything seams so interesting) For that I would want to start as a investment banking summer analyst. So what would be important for that (which courses?) Thank you in advance, Lynn
Hi! If you want to work as an investment banking summer analyst it probably makes sense to take the investment banker course (its the same content as what the interns learn on their first week of training). Best of luck with recruiting!
@@KenjiExplains thank you so much kenji! So you woul recommend (only) doing this course? Or are there other courses you would recommend. (e.g excel, power point, valuation of a company courses etc.)?
I don’t know your budget/time available but it can’t hurt to be more knowledgeable. The business toolkit course is nice in that it’s useful for any business/finance job and not exclusive to any division
Is there an alternative and hopefully faster way for the black cross function of Excel? (I'm using alt+H+F+I+S then shift+tab+F then Enter). For example if u have Monday and Tuesday and you want to autofill the rest of the week without the need of the mouse
Good question, I haven't found any so I just use the mouse for that, seems the fastest I've found. Would love to hear a more efficient alternative though!
You know, it's funny. I have been doing programming for Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for over 8 years and have used excel VBA and formulas that entire time to generate my programs which were usually CSV imports. And i never used shortcuts.
@@KenjiExplains No! I'm on a HP. It's from Sweden, but I have English (US) as main language for keyboard etc. Do you think it has something to do with the keyboard layout?
Saw the disclaimer so clicked all the links. Thanks for the nifty little video, liked that it covered some things that just save mouse work or improve the look of work a bit
Thanku Kenji for your informative video. I'm desperately waiting for your financial modelling video. pls make a financial modelling video from scratch with valuation.
