Thanks for doing this review. I actually just purchased one and it arrived a week ago,. I got it used off of Reverb for $525. I put it through a 3 hour band practice. My thoughts are similar to yours. It’s the lightest guitar I own, very comfortable to play. Though Fender players may find the neck to be a bit flatter than a Fender strat. As far as the pickups, I’ve read a lot of people don’t like them and swap them out. I found them versatile and kind of vanilla. Using your amp / pedals EQ you can get this guitar to sound pretty much any way you want it to. Overall I think this a great workhorse guitar. It’s decently affordable for what you get out of it, it looks and feels great.

I'm up here in Canada and thanks for the review. I have Godin Session and a Godin Session Custom (Neck hum / bridge single coil) and I love 'em... I've actually been showing my American Fenders the back door. My next purchase is gonna be the Godin Stadium (they're take on a tele).

I played the exact one at a local shop and I really wish I had grabbed it for $750! Now it's gone, but there are used ones online for pretty cheap. I remember liking literally everything about it. Especially the neck.

I love Godins but haven't tried this model. I always test the heck out of a guitar before I consider buying it. I'm one of those customers who annoys the hell out of Guitar Center employees because I ask to plug into every amp. But the reason is I want to see what the pickups can do. I'll change pickups if I have to in a heartbeat, but I'd rather not have to. If I get the sense that the pickups don't work I simply won't buy the guitar. I try to find pickups that are good as they are. Yeah, I may still tired of a set and pop something else in, but I want to avoid that, or at least put it off for a while. I had a Schecter recently and liked it but the pickups weren't happening. I replaced them with a Duncan Custom SH-5/Jazz combo and the thing just rocked.

Looks like the guitar is up to $999 on sweetwater. I played a session progression or what have you about 6-7 years ago. I really liked it. I’m trying to find one of these HT used. They seem worth the money on the used market. Thanks for the review

If I replace the stock pickups on my Godin session HSS for Dimarzio pickups, would I have to use the F-space ones instead of the regular Dimarzio? The configuration I’m looking at is Super distortion, true velvet and true velvet. Anyone?

Great video. Can’t find these anywhere to try. Is the back of the neck a natural satin or sticky gloss ? Also how is Tuning stability ?

Great review, I like godins, but i really wish they offered some more modern features on this model or their tele kinda shape. If they had a floating trem and roasted neck I'd be happy. PS: most guitars that you order through the mail should and do have high action to accommodate for temp/humidity changes during shipping. Go to a good in-person store if you want a perfect setup right away.

I like Seymour Duncans. Maybe a 59 in the bridge and some Antiquitys for the single coils. That would be a pretty vintage setup but would probably sound great. Thank you Jason, for checking out the video.

That looks a lot like David Gilmour's legendary Black Strat and sounds like it too! 😁
"I don't have anything with a single coil."
    - I see that single coil peeking over your shoulder from that brown tele-style guitar on the wall. Looks kinda like a P90 from here but I could be wrong about that. It's still a single coil though. heheheeh

That’s a humbucker. It’s the dual single coil look but it’s a black and white together making it a humbucker.

@@adamricard7055 I know what a humbucker is (Two of my axes have them) but I didn't see the black coil. Looking at it again, you're right, there is another coil there. I stand corrected. 😁

Every guitar needs to be setup to your preference....string height is super easy to adjust....you call that an "issue"....really????? I have one of these, as well as several other Godin electrics, and I'll take them over ANY American made electric any day. I don't think I've picked up any guitar in any shop with the action just the way I like it, lol! Often times nuts have to be worked because one changes the string gauge....all this is normal. Guitars are set up generally a little on the high side from the factory with nuts able to accommodate most, not all, string gauges.
