Just chugged a first pint of this....great recipe! It's a perfect thirst quencher. Such a great hop combo too...and i'm really impressed with Novalager, it's very clean. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you David for another great video. I much prefer your method of "IBU" hop additions versus weighed hops and times . Much more accurate for the home brewer to obtain your intended results. Cheers!
Perfect timing! This is surprisingly similar to the next beer i'm going to brew. The difference is, i'll be using mandarina bavaria and cascade hops at a lower ibu and using dry enzyme. Apart from that, same yeast and similar enzyme.
Another cracker, thanks David. I currently have your Golden European Lager fermenting away rapidly and I’m soooo tempted to chuck in some Centennial now!😅
Excellent, another recipe to add to my long list of your fantastic brews to try. Your Vienna lager in my keg is almost finished so............. Thank you :)
Great timing David! I just ordered some Nova lager yeast and Saaz hops but hadn't decided what to brew yet. Centennial and Saaz are my two favorites so this is a no-brainer. This will be my first time using the Nova. I'll let you know how it turns out!
You mention that a 30 min boil gives extra flavour? Would be interested to know in what way as I have been thinking of reducing boil time on other recipes. Definitely going to give this one a go…👍🏻
Hello David....as always thanks for sharing all your recipes and knowledge.... one thing about the merchandise i keep clicking on the link and it is giving me a 404! Page not found error....is there a new link? or a website to make the purchase? thanks...
Great to hear thanks. My merch store is on Teespring. Underneth each video on a desktop computer there are links to various items. This will take you to the main website. You can also use this link:- www.teespring.com/stores/david-heath-Homebrew
I'm going to brew this one next as I fancy getting a lager ready for the summer. Im a bit stuck though on calculating the dry hop amounts for the saaz as I am going to use the lupomax with an AA of 8.4. Much higher than the standard 2.6. Would you recommend halving the amount of saaz. Thanks
Thank you. I am a sour beer fan but not so much on lambics. I do have a solera sour beer project that is ongoing though that would probably interest you that has various video parts. Here is the first one, there are two more:- ua-cam.com/video/47APQMhMkOs/v-deo.html
Hi, bottle as usual giving time for carbonation. Then store in a fridge or a cold area for at least a couple of weeks but the longer the potentially better 🍻🍻🍻
Thank you very much for this recipe! Since Novalager had been released I was looking forward to your first tried and tested recipe 👍👍👍 What substitute would you recommend in case biscuit malt is not available (like it is here in AT) ?
Cheers Michael. I would go with either victory malt or aromatic malt. Biscuit can also be known as special roasted malt too by some malsters. I hope this helps.
I see hop bongs and other methods of avoiding oxygen exposure when dry hopping, yet you've opened the fermenter lid and dropped the bag in. I rarely dry hop, so have no experience regarding the results of oxygen exposure (whilst dry hopping.) Comments?

Great to hear, sounds like you nailed it 🍻🍻

Cheers Sean. Yes it is an important thing to highlight, its shocking the amount of people who blindly go by weight and do not consider AA%.
Great timing! I was just thinking to brew a lager and have been looking through your recipes. This fits well what I had in mind. Cheers!
Great to hear Alan, enjoy 🍻🍻🍻

Thanks, love the channel btw. Cheers 🍻

Haha, you should resist that on this one and brew this one too 🍻🍻😎

Looks good. I will have to try it.
Enjoy 🍻🍻🍻
Looks amazing David. I have Nova lager yeast on hand. May give this a recipe a try
Go for it 🍻🍻🍻 Enjoy
Oh so now I need another fermentation vessel, thanks David 😂
I would dare say “need” is not right, desire probably 🍻🍻🍻
Sounds delicious!!!
It sure is 🍻🍻😎
Hi David. Going to try this recipe later this week. What’s your experience regarding conditioning time when using Novalager?
I have been drinking these quite early but I would suggest waiting at least 3 weeks.
You mention that a 30 min boil gives extra flavour? Would be interested to know in what way as I have been thinking of reducing boil time on other recipes. Definitely going to give this one a go…👍🏻
Its more flavour in general because you are not boiling it off for as long. This will vary from recipe to recipe in terms of actual effect.
This looks like another awesome recipe by David. However, does anyone know if it’s already in the Brewfather App?
Yes it is, check this videos description section for a link 🍻🍻🍻
@@DavidHeathHomebrew found it, thank you so much
Enjoy 🍻🍻🍻

Hi Jason, Alpha acids are not a concern when dry hopping.
Looks good.
Question, have you any experience with homebrewed lambic etc?
Thank you.

Hi David. I haven't gone down the kegging path yet so what bottle conditioning/lagering schedule would you recommend? Thx.

Anyone know what the intended sulfate/chloride ratio for this recipe is
The recipe is shared on Brewfather. Load the desired water profile and it will tell you the ratio.

I would go with either caramunich or a mixture of munich and carahell.
There are various ways to go here.
@@DavidHeathHomebrew I prefer your route but we´re limited to Weyermann and Ireks specialty malts here in austria.
As long as it works 🍻🍻🍻
Curious why you comment that the top plate isn’t necessary for this grain bill? When would you?
The top plate on these systems are optional. The time to for sure use it is with very large grainbills to hold the grain in.

As long as you do not introduce oxygen by splashing around then its not an issue. Ive never oxidised a beer by following careful methods.
Prefect recipe to replace bud products!
For sure!! 😎🍻😀
I❤lager delicious looking beer/ recipe 🤤🤤
Cheers Bradley. Yes this sure beats lite beers 🍻🍻🍻
