Connie sang so many songs about mothers. She has the voice to make every note make you love your mother even more. There has never been a singer who could put so much passion in to their songs. I'll always love Connie Francis
GREAT work Ron - when I first met George Scheck in 1980 he gave me his copy of "who's happy now" [lp] which, at that time, was not really available here in the States. I lived in New York in those years and would always visit George upstairs in his office. He played me Connie's demo of a new song, "I'm Me Again" which I remember thinking "this doesn't work" but a short while later she did the record version which was better. George managed me for a time (I was a nightclub singer in those years) but he knew I was a Connie Francis fanatic - and that was the first time I got to hear Connie's version of "My Mother's eyes" from the United Artists LP. Supposedly, at that time, Connie was not overly thrilled with the album - at least that's what I was told. She felt that too many 'tricks' were used in the Recording studio and Connie never liked that.
Great Ron, since a know and love connie music , i always think in something like this because connie have so many song about mother , i love the spanish rendition of My mother Eyes , Greeting From Venezuela,

Many thanks. Unfortunately, that track would have been somewhat incongruous amidst all the passionate ballads. My work on the book is almost completed. Once published I can concentrate on the CDs :-)

Thanks Joey. Yes, it was a mock-p. A few shots were in the running. This was one of them. The pic that was used underwent two earlier cover editions - both scrapped - before the third choice was selected.
