Question What would the process of say a country like Germany, to leave the Euro? I've heard rumors about Germany wanting to leave the Euro, similar to Brexit.
So I think it would be exceedingly unlikely that Germany would leave the Euro. Given that Germany effectively controls the European Central Bank the balance of benefits to Germany from the Euro are overwhelming. If Germany wanted to leave the Euro, it would most likely do so “responsibly.” That means doing so over the course of a couple years, as it would likely require the complete renegotiation of the European Central Bank and navigating the politics of the European Union. But practically, the government could simply announce a new currency that is 1-1 exchangeable to the Euro for a period of time as the new physical currency is rolled out to banks and put into circulation.
