Well the heater channel or tunnel is basically the rocker panel on the whole side. Thats one thing nice about a VW beetle. They put the heat in the back from the engine and use the rocker panel to pump it up to dash. So you replace them and you have new rockers.
Heat in these cars was not able to keep people warm in cold climates. I remember hearing people say they will never buy another one. VW went to water cooled for that reason

Looking good so far ,the dash on a super is a nightmare with all the wiring underneath.I’d fill the cracks and cover with pvc
@@vwcoco I'm still probably going to have to pull it out. I worked at Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep from 98-2010. Had to pull a lot of dashes.

My folks had a gas heater in their's when I was a kid. I never really drove mine in the winter when I was a teenager.
