Sadly I have to agree. I've heard the website mentioned but never looked till I wanted to find out about this awesome' free' video editing software. Sadly the website seems rather dated, with 'coming up in 2010' etc. real shame. - At least youtube is current and active - either way thanks Bruce.
It's called Freemake ..testing now : full of annoying incitations to buy/upgrade ...but hey if it works. BTW you have to go all the way to the convert process, and THEN, you can choose "stretch" in the options.
Not using the RunCam Orange was a mistake but a custom Fluorescent tape stripe would really great to add to it and is something RunCam should make available.
Agree. I use reflective tape on my models, batteries and cameras. If I lose something, simply go back after dark with a torch (flashlight) and it stands out like a sore thumb. Maybe the Runcam 6 could be reflective dayglow orange?
Reflective fluorescent tape would be ideal, so if you really can't find it during the day in the long grass or bushes etc., go back with a really powerful torch when it starts to get dark. Edit: I see Andrew posted the same whilst I was composing mine :)
The obvious thing he doesn't like: It's black. Man, that was cold blood... Joke aside, that was 6 relevant and understandable cons. To be honest, i missed the old good Xiaomi YI "white" that you didn't like Bruce, it was a very good alternative for its price especially when using the amazing "Wafle" script... Maybe one day Runcam will make the perfect HD camera, they seem to be more on the good track right now...
Well Bruce when you did your first review of this cam, I said I love it and want one But I was going wait until you had given it a good test, just encase you fined faults. Well apart from theses 5 little things It's an awesome cam so I have just ordered one. Thank you for all the info Bruce, Cheers Buddy
Couldnt find any link on the website. I very much agree that the color change to black from orange is a downside. It was the one part that they did much better than GoPro, and then they changed it. My only other complaint is that it has a built-in battery. Which kinda makes me need 2 or 3 cameras instead of just more batteries.
If you don't want to blow out the whites, nudge the Exposure Compensation slider into negative territory. No I don't have the camera - just pointing out the proper parameter to adjust. ( How well the camera executes Exposure Compensation ... who knows? )
i'm Dutch so everything Orange is better, really wish they made ALL the lens caps "runcam orange", but might consider buying this one even when its dark.
hey Bruce just to correct the comment in this video. The software I used never had the ability to download youtube videos and I never broke their terms of service which is why youtube could never tell me which rule I broke when in the past they were happy to (iv had strikes before as a musician) and you may or may not know when you hit over 25 thousand subs you can chat to youtube reps. This statement was something Joshua bardwell seemingly made up and posted in a video and everything he says people take as fact. I have no idea where he got this info from but its completely false. Even so thank you for the empathy as It caused a lot of stress and nearly shut my channel down. I would be very careful making videos emulating which I now refer to as "dynamic stretching of video". After telling youtube I was considering taking the channel down they were very quick to tell me that particular companies (perhaps ones that rely on a platform like youtube) can request a video to be taken down and penalties given outside of the community guidelines and even claim for loss of sales against you. So when you pair this up with the lengths a particular company in the past went to regarding the shape of another product. It was pretty easy to conclude who was responsible. My video was inspired by a non RC camera channel that did something similar and that video also no longer exists as well as a flurry of others. The only ones that seem to be allowed are the ones that are so difficult to do that most people wont bother or are not free. Its a shame as my method takes about 3 clicks, is free and allows you to shift where the video starts to stretch. Perhaps If there is enough demand from my runcam 5 review I will post it elsewhere. cheers
That free version of Davinci Resolve is limited to FullHD, or was last I looked :(. I have it installed here on Linux Mint. Very nice that it does run on Linux :). But no 2.5k and no 4k makes it fairly useless, especially for the long term, unless you're planning to fork out for the commercial version. Long term IS very relevant, because most people will end up investing hundreds of hours in learning to operate the software. Invariably nothing's REALLY free except - open source software.
