Other than the obvious grass decks things to do with Druddigon, the one that really stood out to me was the bench sniping water deck with Greninja, and new fish and flutes. Dunno how good it'll be, but it's really fun.
I was looking forward to this video. I’d also watch a complete set review. I was extremely surprised with how good this set is in terms of opening up deck building possibilities. Each best deck used to have a super defined 20 but now there’s a lot more room for experimentation. Water box is sweet, and leaf is good for articuno and vaporeon’s 2 retreat cost.
somewhat surprised you didn't touch upon the Blaine deck upgrade with the new ponyta and rapidash. The magmar is also an upgrade but it still feels like a worse ninetails but still being able to pull out 110 for a basic isn't terrible even though you then need to spend 2 turns building it back up.
I think theyre both bad :/ Discarding 1 energy is rough enough for Ninetales but two just doesnt work. New Rapidash being so swingy means youre gonna have to plan around the low end which is the same as old rapidash for half the energy.
I really liked new Florges. Stage 2, with pretty decent line of evolution, only 2 energy to attack, not bad attack and even Psychic with weakness to metal (idk, for me it was the first reason to try it). Like, yeah, you need good basic to come up with, but here we got MewEX... With expeditioner... Doesn`t this feel like Koga? For me it will be new strange archetype, that can emerge on one day. Also want to thank you, really love your content but can`t afford be on streams(
Imo celebi is the more valuable attacker than dhelmise, mainly because it's a lot better when you don't have serperior up and scales off it better in the latergame. The only time delmise is preferable is if you're going first and can evolve serperior on curve or if you have both dhelmises.
@swegdoge Since you don't want to watch the video and pay attention, I'll spell it out for you. Old Pidgey has 60 health, new Pidgey has 50. Old Pidgey survives stuff that new Pidgey doesn't. Notable examples include Mewtwo EX's 2 energy attack and a single heads flip from Celebi EX. Martian values not giving out those free points compared to a little bit of extra damage from a basic pokemon that's not intended to be an attacker. If you value the damage more, you can run new Pidgey. It's just a tradeoff.
@rivetace thanks for answering. I did pay attention, video said something like "don't think it's worth it" so I wanted to know the thought process there 😮
Cooked a deck yesterday and it feels super good - only bad matchup is Misty and even still it's winnable. If you see this comment naybe you can try it on stream one day 2 Moltres ex 2 Growlithe 2 Arcanine ex 1 Vulpix 2 Ninetales 2 Poke ball 1 X Speed 2 Potion 1 Red Card 2 Professor's Research 2 Sabrina 1 Leaf Ninetales can be used for early aggro or to close out third prize. Arcanine, Moltres, and Vulpix are all good into Mew, and a lot of popular Pokemon get 1 shot by Arcanine (Celebi, Weezing, Gardevoir, every Blaine Pokemon, etc) Personally don't like Charizard because of Mew and you can beat Mewtwo by simply being faster/Red card shenanigans/Sabrina so they lose tempo. Other notable Pokemon that Arcanine doesn't 1 shot are Gyarados, Articuno (Misty matchup is a bit cooked anyway but this deck seems to be favoured against everything that beats Misty I think?), Pidgeot (red card lol), Aerodactyl (you're probably happy with Arcanine 2 shotting it anyway), Charizard (Mew existing keeps it in check), and Zapdos (lol).
Hey Marshie, really happy to see you talk about the new set and I hope you have a good day.

Executioner now. That kid is tormenting James Sunderland in their off-hours.

Arcanine EX eating it’s so good against the Celebi deck and Mew shores up Mewtwo and Charizard for you.
Yey, new pocket expansion!
this onix deck is badass. going first is insane with an early amber, feels real guud

I think beheeyem is also a pretty good aggressive psychic. If your opponent has a full bench it deals 70 which is the same as a blained rapidash

I just won 35 games in a row with that onyx deck...so yeah thats something
Very good points
no new steel pokemon :(
:(
Surely the next main set will focus heavily on it. Onix and Scyther were obviously designed to be bad so they can be much better in the future
Nax out?
Thanks as always Marshie for the great content
I wonder if you can take out 1 sabrina for the new koga for mew (I forget the name of the card)
I dont think its great, you could try it but Id cut something else
lt surge in lightning deck only for electabuzz?
Yeah
With all these celebis running around my Charizard deck eats 😈
Mewtwo got Mew to counter Charizard now
why genetic apex pidgey over the new one
Damage. Risk dying to random 50 damage moves in exchange for more damage consistently.
I talk about this in the vid
@@MartianBuuPocket why is it not worth it

Any potential for Chatot shenanigans?
It seems pretty decent, you can probably throw one in most things.
yep

2 Moltres ex
