Absolute amateur gal here. I have a subaru outback 2005, 368kms on the clock and not once serviced since purchase date last year 🤯
It recently overheated, and broke down. I replaced the fuel pump yesterday. Appreciate your video as ill replace spark plugs, starter motor and cords later this week. Fingers xd this gets it going agn. Wish me luck

Just for any ones info this vid pertains to many of the older subies My 2005 forester and 2008 outback. The only difference is exactly what you might need to move for the clearance, on the 08 it would be the battery other wise every thing else holds true. Thanks again

For everybody who is swapping in a 2.0L keep the coil and wires because they can be mounted 180° backwards and you can swap cylinders 1-2 and 3-4 on the coil because it batch fires. It will save you 200 bucks and could last the life of the swap. Worked on my Subaru Baja. You use one bolt normally and make a small drop-down bracket relocation bracket for the second bolt.

Awesome video man. Doing this on my 02 Legacy this week to try and fix my misfiring iasue. I just bought it this year and it only had 85k miles, so my guess is it never had any of this kind of maintenance done to it, just regular oil changes and belt swaps.

Have you encountered a sparkplug thats been rounded and won't grab at all? Got 3 taken out but the last one isn't catching on the 16mm socket. Soaked it in seafoam cleaned it as well and no results.

No big deal, but you put the plug wires over the A/C line on the left bank they were under it when you started.
