- From the visual novel Steins;Gate.
Each time Okabe moves to a new world line activates his ability "Reading Steiner."
One of these animations plays to illustrate such an event.
I want a Nixie Tube clock now.
this is scaring me
No, that's incorrect.
The story starts in a beta world line. Not the Steins Gate.
This has significantly more oomph than it does in 0. Although 0's time leaps are pretty creepy sounding too.
the divergence meter shows the difference of the world in which the meter was created (world where mayuri died) to the current world. This means that the closer the meter is to 0%, the more similar the world is to the world where the meter is created, and hence anything below divergence 1%, including 0% will end in a dystopia where SERN rules.
We really needed one for the Suzuha ending too.
Negative is Omega, see Faris end.
Oh I loved these each time! Creators really nailed sound and visual effects for these divergence in the timeline moments imho.
So many world lines...
I want them all
The numbers Mason...
The best, the coolest
POV: You're a random person with reading steiner in August, 2010
Damn reading-steingasm. I always loved this little thing in the VN.
novel is AMAZING u get to actually see every girls route after all (and a guy)
I also observe that the first few divergent meter, it shows me 0% to 2% and other numbers above except for 1%
I never noticed before, but Kurisu's and Mayuri's endings take place on subtly different wordlines, and both of those are different from the starting worldline.
If you play the Yu-Gi-Oh HP counter sfx at the same time (timed correctly), it strangely fits.
@DeviousDoople the divergence number shows your world line.getting 1% will bring you to the beta world line.0% is alpha,2% is gamma, etc.I'd explain more but i don't want to spoil.
0=past
it could actually be thought of either way, the story has no continuity issues in either case. It is really up to the discretion of the observer like almost everything else. But you know one thing that is true: relativity theory is so romantic.
The sound is creepy but also hypnotising 🔝👍
