Just a reminder: this is not to be attempted by just anyone and should be done by a professional... I will not be responsible for any damages or issues resulting otherwise 👌🏼
If the idler pulleys are off its always worth repacking those bearings with grease. Its a quick and easy job that will stop them whining for another 100k km's
Good stuff as always, but I now have a problem and I need advice! My 320D e90's battery conked in and I replaced it wirh a new Duratec 658, but the output is 105 and not 90 and my alternator previously charged at 13.8 and after replacing the battery it the charge voltage dropped to 12.06? I did not register the new battery? Should I register the battery first before I blame the alternator?
It is procedure to always register the battery everytime the battery is changed, especially since the amperage is higher now compared to the older battery so the alternator charges accordingly. Should the incorrect charging persist, then have the alternator looked at👌🏼
You can do it at home if you have a professional tool as i have and familiar with the inner systems... Otherwise its best to let a workshop do it... I'm all for saving money but not at the consequence of damaging the car
It is definitely possible, but I wouldn't recommend it as the available space to work with is limited, and there's a higher chance of encountering issues that could cause additional headaches

That's some good advice, although for me i change them every 2 years so there's very minimal chance of failure

@@Realpreshaanb thank you, I'll take it to the workshop on Monday or is there some way I could do it myself at home?

great video, Do you think its possible to remove the voltage regulator without removing the whole alternator ?
